I was recently given this book as a gift and I can't tell you how great it is. I work in a profession that requires websites that are functional and user friendly. After having much difficulty over the previous few weeks, I finally have hope that we can solve all of the problems with the current project. I now realize there are many basic fundamentals about creating websites that my team and I just did not understand before. If you are a website dummy like me, I highly recommend this book!
I want to build my own website. I don't want somebody else to build it for me, such that I can't update, change, and adapt it as I roll along the cyber-highway to global popularity. And I don't want one of those pre-packaged website shells which look just as cool as every other pre-packaged website shell ... which is to say "not very cool at all." I have a hard time learning how to build web pages and for someone who has an online business that is not something you want in your resume. But this book by Janine Warner has step by step instructions on how to build web pages, download [some] free software, use photoshop and (other programs)as well as starting blogs which is something I never even thought of doing (sad to say) but now I will put what I've learned to the test!
