Lost and Missing: True Stories of People Gone Missing and Never Found

Rate this book
Your loved one is missing! What can you do? The minutes, hours, days and even weeks drag by with no word. Imagine living the rest of your life never knowing what happened to them, where they are, if they are even alive! Lost and True Stories of People Gone Missing and Never Found contains true-life stories of people who have disappeared from the face of the earth, including the circumstances surrounding their disappearances, the investigations, the results and the current status of the cases. This series of books by Mike Riley tells the condensed story of each of the cases. They are intended to provide pertinent details so the reader gets a good grasp of each case and can then determine whether they want to explore any particular cases further. This allows the books to include more true crime stories and maybe some that the reader may not have heard of before. In some instances, foul play is definitely involved. In other cases, bad luck, poor judgement or just wrong place, wrong time factors have affected the outcomes. Some of the stories within Be prepared to be confounded, confused and left curious. These cases have never been solved and some continue to be investigated to this day.

A good overview of some of the more famous historical cases of missing people. As this is an area I'm very interested in, I had heard of all of the cases except for one, but it was good to refresh my memory.

This is not a book for people who are interested in reading about missing person's cases in detail but is a nice overview of some cases which, if they pique interest, can then be read about in more specific and dedicated books.

This book is about missing person cases with which I was not familiar. They were all presented in an organized manner that made them easy to read. None of them were long and/or boring.

Mike Riley is the man to follow. It was a pleasure to read this book and I'll be looking for more. I rated it five stars in spite of a few errors. The past tense of the verb "lead" is "led." It's "publicly," not "publically."

Interesting

These stories are tales of the disappearance of a number of individuals over a broad spectrum of years. They are interesting but ultimately not much more as they are all still unresolved. The short compilation features many types of disappearances with no other common thread or connections. They are presented as just some examples of people who are missing and so far nothing else is known about their whereabouts.

Very interesting book!

I enjoyed reading about all of these missing people. It is hard to believe someone can just vanish without a trace. The background provided on the missing people is a great addition to the stories, adding a more personal touch, and I enjoyed the information outlining what the people left behind thought had happened.

Great book!

Enjoyed reading this book. Great true stories to wonder about what happened. Sorry for the families and victims though. Sad

Wikipedia ripoff

Reads like high school essays culled from stories on the net. Fast but nothing new or interesting added. Just like post game recaps.
