This book was extremely educational. I enjoyed reading it and buying baby gifts for my friends inbetween chapters. I am now slightly less freaked out by the birth process. It sounds like any other big life change. Just have your support system in tact. Know who will be helpful and who won't. Ask lots of questions. I now know about lactation consultants, couples showers, the right and wrong way for latching, all the pieces that come out at birth...and how skin to skin contact helps the baby grow right from birth to belly to breast. Immediate breastfeeding is essential to the mom and baby's preparation for the whole breastfeeding journey situation. All very interesting stuff.

I loved that Robin includes her personal voice and perspective in this pregnancy and birth guide! It's a welcome change from all the other pregnancy/birth manuals. She also has a way of making you feel like birth is safe, natural and normal. It's like having your own personal doula and birth educator right in your own home!

This book was full of good information and advice. I learned a lot and would recommend it to any pregnant woman who, like myself, knows next to nothing about what is going to happen to her.
