All Hallows Eve by Heather Graham
Krewe of Hunters series #16.5. Paranormal suspense, horror. Can be read as a stand-alone.
Salem, MA at Halloween for most would be fun and entertaining. For those that see ghosts, not so much.
Paranormal forensics specialist Jenna Duffy and attorney Samual Hall (series #4) return to Salem to investigate the creepy horrors reported and find themselves in a fight for their lives.

Boo-hag. A new supernatural for me.
I don't recommend reading this in the dark at night. At least not for a wimp like me where horror is an exception and not a standard read.
It’s a chilling novella not to be missed from the series.

This book was creepy AF! It could be because I read it in the middle of the night, but I kept looking around for a freaking boo-hag!! Thank you very much Heather Graham for scaring the shit out of me. This book had wiccans, seers, mediums and murder. It was eerie and suspenseful and would make a great read for anyone interested in a bit of a spook.

Definitely listened to this for a specific challenge.. but it doesn't hurt that I really enjoy all these novellas in the dark night series.

In All Hallows Eve we will meet Jenna and Samuel all the way in Salem. It's also Halloween - which is kind of around the corner for us. Well, these two aren't really reuniting under exciting terms - unless you view a sudden death as exciting? I guess it depends on your job.

Jenna can talk to ghosts, which sounds fun and all but wouldn't that get annoying? For example, you're on the toilet (doing your thing) and ghost just pops into your life. I would probably be traumatized.. but who knows. Then there's Sam who is a lawyer (and that's it). Sam it like me, a nonbeliever.

Yup, you read it here folks. I don't believe in ghosts (sorry?). If I can touch, feel, or see it - then maybe. As of right now, it's just the wind.

Long story short, she finds out that the dead man in question was murdered. Now she needs to figure out what happened and why. Ugh, her and Sam were adorable. Of course this book had mystery, danger, and romance in the air! I was all for it but wished the audio was longer!

Maybe it's because I'm in the Halloween spirit - but dammit I wanted more murder shit! Ugh, moving onto the next Halloween-y book that I can find!

All Hallows Eve, the 16.5th book in Heather Graham's Krewe of Hunters series, reunites Jenna Duffy and Samual Hall in Salem, where they first met. Their vacation plans are abruptly interrupted by a call from Jenna's cousin, Elyssa, summoning them back to the town. As they return, readers are taken on A thrilling journey to uncover the mysteries that await them in Salem.

All Hallows Eve is a sweet novella in Heather Graham's Krewe Of Hunters series. It is a quick read and an excellent book to read before bed. I love Heather Graham's portrayal of her characters and how they intertwine throughout this book. All Hallows Eve is well-written and researched by Heather Graham. I like Heather Graham's description of the settings of All Hallows Eve, which complemented the book's plot.

All Hallows Eve readers will learn about living in Salem, Massachusetts, and the town's history. Also, the readers of All Hallows Eve will understand the meaning of the word Wiccans and what they believe in.

I recommend this book.

I won this a group contest. I haven't read any of the others in the series and it is a tribute to the author's craft that I was not lost or frustrated. A super find read with fade to black heat. I kept waiting for Scooby and Shaggie to show up. Non-spoiler: It wasn't a real estate scam and the ghosts were real.

This was a really good paranormal mystery that was perfect for Halloween! This story is about a detective-lawyer couple, Jenna and Samuel. When Jenna sees a ghost and he tells her that he was murdered, they both travel to Salem to find his murderer. I enjoyed the historical site of Salem with the mixture of mediums, murder, romance, seers, and wiccans. I liked that the story didn’t mainly focus on romance, but the mystery and murder. Jenna and Sam at this point have an established relationship to where you didn’t have to constantly see it in words. There were hints and notions to previous cases, characters, and plots, but overall I didn’t feel like I missed out on too much for this one story.

Really was pleasantly surprised by this book, but then I really like Heather Graham as an author.
As Jenna Duffy and Sam Hall renew their old acquaintance, a dead body is the main reason. Jenna talks to Ghosts and Sam is a typical Boston Lawyer (an unbeliever) . Jenna speaks to the dead man's ghost, and finds out he did not commit suicide he was murdered. Of course there is danger, a hint of romance and mystery. The story takes place in Salem Halloween week, enough said. Very good book, would definitely read more in the series.

All the Halloween fun

I love these Krewe novellas and this connection to Halloween. The two stories before that took place in Salem were fascinating with the history and culture and this one was as well. It also was great to see a time frame provided because I do wonder as I read these stories how much time is occurring between cases. Love seeing couples and revisiting with them and their family which this novella did with a well paced story of fright and greed. I do wish there was more time spent and buildup on the case, but this is a novella so I understand the brevity , I just really like the Krewe 😎

This was an especially good Krewe of Hunters short story/novella. This one is set in Salem during Halloween, and brings in all the Krewe members from the previous books set in Salem (so it ties into the series quite well). The story has a lot of interesting information on Wiccans, Gullah culture and more. And there is also a slight hint that someone might become a future Krewe member.

This was a nice little paranormal/murder mystery novella. It features a detective and her lawyer fiance. Jenna has always been able to see ghosts and when her cousin finds a dead body thanks to a ghost she calls Jenna.

This was short and sweet. I liked that I got to know all of the main characters pretty well in such a short book. And the story always kept me guessing. I'll definitely keep reading these 1001 Dark Nights stories!

Quick & Dirty: An entertaining novella about people who can talk to ghosts.

Opening Sentence: Come to me.

The Review:

All Hallows Eve by Heather Graham is a murder mystery/ghost story that really captured my attention. If you are expecting a love story don’t, these are two established romantic characters. The sex is off page but you can definitely feel the love these two characters have for each other. This is the first Krewe of Hunters story that I have read.

Jenna Duffy and Samuel Hall return to Salem, Massachusetts after Jenna’s cousin finds a dead body. People assume it was a suicide since he was found hanging but after Jenna’s cousin speaks with his ghost, she calls her cousin in to help solve his murder. Also, it is Salem at Halloween so the town is full of tourists and crazy characters.

The Krewe of Hunters work for the FBI and solve some crazy murders and ghost hauntings. I didn’t feel like I was missing anything by reading this story, it just made me interested in reading more. I like ghost stories but I have never once picked up one of these books. Jenna and Sam did constantly refer back to their first case together, another murder mystery in Salem but I don’t think anything was ruined for me if I want to go back and read their story. Each person in the Krewe have their own specific talents and I enjoyed reading about Jenna and Sam’s abilities.

All Hallows Eve was an entertaining read. I really enjoyed the story for what it was. I wasn’t entirely surprised by the outcome. What I did like was that Heather incorporated something I’ve never heard of before, the Boo hag. Apparently it is real, look it up, I did. I always like when an author can surprise me with something I’ve never heard of, especially something that just makes me want to giggle every time the characters mention it. Boo Hag.

I would recommend this story if you want something a little different, it isn’t all just about the romance when characters can speak to the dead. All Hallows Eve was a quick read but I really loved the detail and atmosphere that was created in this story. I really felt like I was a part of the story and in Salem with these characters. After this novella, I would at least pick up the first book in this series.

Notable Scene:

A strange flash of darkness and light.

Near the weeping angel and a worn tombstone stood someone in a black cape. Someone with a red face and body. The boo-hag they’d seen the other night. What would someone in costume be doing at the edge of a forlorn graveyard at this time of day, just looking up at the mortuary? She excused herself and headed down the rocky drive toward the cemetery. She leapt over a few tombstones and wove around ancient sarcophagi. But, when she reached the far side and the forest edge, the boo-hag was gone.

She drew her weapon and called out, “FBI. Get the hell out here, whoever you are.”

She hadn’t really expected a reply, not unless it might come from some holdover partier unsure of where he was from a function the previous night. She moved cautiously into the woods, alert and wary, careful of the leaves and twigs beneath her feet.

And then stopped.

No boo-hag was in sight.

Instead, a woman dangled from a tree limb.

True Heather Graham style!!
I thoroughly enjoyed this novella. As always, Ms. Graham does not lack in detail and you feel as if you are right there in Salem, surrounded by everything eerie. We are given the background so as to be able to get to know a few of the characters, as well as the history of the witches' trials there. I myself, enjoyed this and it may be something that not everyone would look up on their own.. Not many towns can bost the history that Salem does. Thank you, Ms. Graham for helping to bring it to light to those who may not know, especially just in time for Halloween!
I was gifted this ebook by Inkslinger PR on behalf of the author for an honest review. Opinions in this review are my own.

Within the prologue, I was flashing back to like the fourth novel which was held in Salem with Jenna and Sam and their experience in Salem with the cemetery. But the haunted house reference made me think of a more recent novel with Sleepy Hallows.

Also, the prologue gave names that sound so familiar - Jeannette, Micah and Naomi. Not Krewe members (though some are named that) but secondary characters from a previous novels... nothing linked in the end.

So it turned out that the link in the prologue to book four with Sam and Jenna was relevant. The girl from the prologue called in her distant cousin Jenna. I personally would have not cancelled a beach getaway trip for a second cousin twice removed situation. It was a bit of a stretch.

I felt like certain paragraphs or sentences of copy are duplicated almost back-to-back as a different character says them. It’s a little confusing cause I felt like I was going in circles. One of the worse things in reading is when I re-read a sentence by mistake; it throws off my flow

Overall, not a strong one for Graham, but a decent and quick read.

Salem was a place near and dear to Jenna Duffy and Samuel Hall—it was where they'd met on a strange and sinister case.

They never dreamed that they'd be called back or that history could repeat itself in a macabre and terrifying fashion.

✿♥‿♥✿
I miss Luke Daniels as narrator. They have different "voices." I mean, Jenna is Irish and had an accent in the first book, but not this one. Well, she had an accent in random parts of this book.

I really liked them bringing Devin and Rocky into the mystery. I loved their book. "The Hexed"
This was a good story, and I really enjoyed the whole Salem element. I also enjoyed revisiting the scene where Jenna and Sam met.

Personal note ✿
This is only a three-hour book, but I could have done it without the spicy scenes. They really didn't need them, and they took away from the whole "scary" aspect.

All Hallows Eve - A Krewe of Hunters

I have read that very book about the Krewe of Hunters by Heather Graham and absolutely love them! The books follow a group of FBI agents (hunters) who go around the US solving unsolvable crimes - it’s sort of a Supernatural meets Criminal Minds series and I absolutely love it!! Loved reading this novella as it reminded me just how much I loved the storytelling of this author. It also showed me that I’m missing a couple of books in the series! I was simply blown away when I saw that Heather Graham had a 1001 Dark Nights novella and did a happy dance in response! This story took place in Salem, Massachusetts and involved Sam and Jenna as hunters! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Ghosts, Gobblins and Murder

Heather Graham always delivers! Her Krewe books/ stories are so wonderful. She pulls you into the plot and your one with the tale. It is always sad when the story is told. But then Salem as a back drop to a tale and All Hallows Eve (Halloween) the timeframe and you simply cannot go wrong.

I enjoy reading Heather Graham's books. This is a fast read and you get to catch up on some of the characters in past books. The only thing I thought, was the ending could have been stretched out some. It just ended too fast.

Love the krewe hunters. Would like to see more of the old characters in future books. They are fun reads.

I had not read any of the Krewe series before, nor can I recall reading any of Heather Graham's novels. This was a pleasant surprise. It was a short and quick read, yet, a pretty good plot-involving a murder mystery and some ghosts. Even though it falls in the middle of the series, it is written so you are not lost if you haven't read any of the other books. An enjoyable read!

Jenny's cousin hears a voice asking her to help. She and friends go to a haunted mourtuary and find the hanging man is someone they know. She calls Jenny and Sam. They go to Salem to uncover not one but two murders. Who is trying to cause the next witch trials and why. Read and find out.

This is a very short book--an afternoon's read. Having said that, it was a tight little mystery set on Hallowe'en in Salam, Mass (perfect setting) with helpful spirits and some action. I enjoyed it.

The Fantastic Krewe of Hunters

Heather Graham's terrific paranormal series. There's nothing like Halloween 🎃 set in Salem. The Krewe is on the hunt. Brought in by Jenna's teenage cousin, who also has the gift.

Totally worth reading!!!!

I really enjoyed this book, because it was a quick read, and also a great story. I thought I had it figured out, but then there was a twist. It would be so awesome if we could really see our deceased loved ones and be able to communicate with them.
