Dominic Royal is done playing by the rules. With enemies lurking and El Blanca making bold moves, Carmen isn’t just his legal shield or the face of his empire anymore. She’s the calm in his storm, and the fire that burned through his darkness. For the first time, he’s ready to fight for more than just power... he’s ready to fight for her too. Dom may be a little toxic, but Carmen knows that toxicity is only for her even when he tries to hide it.
Carmen’s learning fast that being married to a cartel king means walking a line between devotion and destruction. She never expected to fall this deep, but now that she’s in, there’s no turning back. When bullets start to fly, Carmen must hold her own while guarding the only man who has ever made her feel safe. Carmen’s torn between being the cartel’s backbone and saving what’s left of her soul. When the Feds come knocking and enemies start making moves, she’s forced to prove that she’s more than just a boss’s wife... she’s the ultimate weapon.
In Miami, every move costs... and in Episode Two, the Royals are coming for everything.
If you’re receiving sexual favors from someone who isn’t your wife, you’re a cheater 😭. Like, the whole “it’s an arranged marriage” thing doesn’t matter. If Dom has feelings for her, and she can’t be with anyone else, that’s a committed relationship. So getting head from Vicky is CHEATINGGGG lmaooo. Baby, don’t split hairs with your readers.
Overall, the story is unfolding a little too slow for me it’s honestly kind of boring now. There’s all this “War has started! It’s on!” energy, but we don’t actually experience much of it firsthand. And we’re still waiting for the real drama to kick in… it’s annoying. Like okay we got the shootout but it didn’t hit because we never heard abt ole boy who dies like we the reader don’t have an attachment to him.
The pregnancy trope is just there lmao. I hate when everyone’s smart and calculating but then acts shocked likeee please.
And Victoria and Oshynn? I’m indifferent. Idk if the author is doing that on purpose, but I hate side characters that give ✨NOTHING✨.
3.5 Stars Dom Still Reigns, But the Crown’s Tilting Just a Bit
Okay, let’s get into it. Dom the Miami King 2 pulled up with drama on deck, guns, secrets, and cartel chaos that should’ve had me clutching pearls. But instead? I found myself side-eyeing the pacing like, "so... when we getting to the heat?"
Let’s start with Dom. Sir... that little moment with Vicky? Nah. Don’t play the “arranged marriage” card when your heart and soul stay tied up with Carmen. You emotionally married, my guy. Period. And that scene? CHEATINGG, with a capital whewww chile! Readers ain’t dumb, don’t gaslight us into thinking that was anything but foul.
Carmen, though? That woman is that girl. Pregnant, powerful, and pressing forward. Watching her rise into her own was a beautiful part of the story. She’s grown from ride-or-die to true queen energy. Dom better hold on tight.
But here’s where it wobbles...the pacing is moving like molasses. We keep getting told the war is up, but the tension feels watered down. Yes, there was a shootout, but it didn’t land ‘cause the emotional weight just wasn’t there. Like…who even was oh boy? We didn’t know him, so why should we care? Respectfully.
Now Victoria and O’Shynn? Eh. Cute enough, but they ain’t moving the needle for me. It’s giving filler, not fire. And Keondra? Girl’s acting like loyalty is toxic. If Dique don’t peep game soon, she gon’ crash the whole empire.
That ending though! OH IT ATE. Snatched my edges and spun the block on my emotions. S. Yvonne knows how to drop a cliffhanger that has you blinking at the last page like, "wait a dang minute! THAT’S IT!?"
Final verdict? This one had the sauce, but it simmered too long. Still spicy, just not sizzling. I’m riding out for part 3 because I see the vision—I just hope it brings the fire for real this time.

I was waiting for the whole series to be complete, but I’m glad I didn’t. The wait wasn’t worth it. Carmen’s weakness is what ultimately made me give up. I just don’t do weak FMCs.
The book felt like a lot of filler. Dom constantly tells the reader what kind of man he is instead of showing it, and it got boring fast. I actually understood why Victoria thought Carmen was just his assistant, because Carmen allows herself to be treated like she’s disposable under the excuse of being “just a visa.” Even when Dom tries to do the bare minimum better, it still doesn’t feel believable.
It really annoyed me how much disrespect Carmen tolerated. Dom spoke to another woman right in front of her, let Victoria suck him off, then turned possessive when Carmen went on a date. Instead of standing firm, Carmen folded as soon as he dangled a Bahamas trip in front of her. A trip to the Bahamas is not impressive for a man with Dom’s money, but the way the story framed it made it seem like a grand gesture. It wasn’t.
Dom wanted respect and loyalty from Carmen, yet he was still sexually involved with other women. Meanwhile, Carmen gave him endless grace and did way too much for a man who barely tried. She was supposed to be an asset, but she never made him put real respect on their marriage.
By the time Carmen tried to sound tough with Victoria, it fell flat. She talked like she was a threat, but her actions said otherwise. While she telling Victoria learn how to move without a leash, she couldn’t even move without Dom’s leash.
Carmen’s lack of backbone ruined the story for me. I needed growth, standards, and real consequences, not a woman with so much power accepting disrespect.
Hm it’s not a bad book but the storyline is a bit slow and repetitive. I thought it would have been wrapped up in this book but sadly not.
I’m glad Dom is starting to admit how he feels about Carmen and is actually considering her feelings. The whole idea that Dom wasn’t cheating on his wife because it was an ‘arranged marriage’ is comical, when he clearly knew she had feelings for him and knows she can’t seek companionship or intimacy from any other man, so it’s almost like she didn’t have a choice but to fall in love with him, all the while he’s out receiving sexual favours from whoever, be for real lol.
For the next instalment I hope the editor proof reads the book because the endless grammatical errors were careless.
I need to know what happened!!!…This ending shocked my WHOLE SPIRIT!!!…It’s crazy how Victoria’s uncle thought not a soul would catch on to him trying to break down Dom and his family!!!…Crazy how ppl feel like you are obligated to do what they want you to do when they open a door for you!!!… Carmen is a force to be reckoned with and I love me some O’Shynn too!!!…Those 2 together are going to bring this family out swinging hard!!!… Keondra don’t know how to release that hood mentality and she will be the one to drive Dique crazy for sure!!!… Now that Carmen is pregnant, I can’t wait to see how this is going to unfold!!!…
Keondra is making Dique a living hell and Dom is there to keep her in check. They are all impending fatherhood. Keondra just can't live the hood. Camren is the queen for coming up with new identities. Victoria is now Valerie. Dom keeps robbing and torturing El Blanca. El Blanca is hurt because Victoria chose to side with Dom, I mean what does he expect he basically threw her to the wolves. So now he's going to retaliate. Because he thinks he's going to win. Dom is going to protect his love ones. They don't call him the King of Miami for nothing.
This series is gonna be so lit. Dom is catching a lot of hell from that girl uncle. Cause u jealous that his cartel is getting bigger and making more money than u. U plant that girl with him to take him out, and he was so many steps before when he pulled that move. It's time for her uncle and his whole cartel to take a dirt nap. U did good on yet another book and I'm looking forward to reading more of them. Sitting here patting my feet while sipping on Pepsi and while eating popcorn while waiting on the next book to read
(Side note: I gotta edit my fist review of the first book.)
Ok so now I got the full picture. Dom is starting to come out of his shell and show my girl Carmen the love that she was longing for in the marriage. Now this chick Victoria, man she was starting to tick me off trying to push up on Dom even after he told her old mangy butt that he was married with Carmen standing there…smh typical thirst trap🪤 behavior. I can’t wait for book 3 to drop because now I’m invested and wanna know what happens next.
DOM about to tear Miami up behind is wife, his family, & the respect El Blanca seem to keep dismissing! But then again if El Blanca can write off his own niece what makes Dom think he’s any different…
Carmen girl I knew the minute Dom got a piece of you he wouldn’t be able to keep acting like this was an arranged marriage! And putting you through the mattress is exactly what he did 😮💨😮💨
Now let’s see if DOM is the true Miami kind now that El Blanca ready to finally show his face
I was anticipating EP2, and every page was fire. I knew this read was going to be good but that ending, EP3 is going to have us on the edge of our seats. I have my predictions for what is going to happen between Victoria and Dom, but I will wait for the next book to see if I'm right. DQ is hilarious, deserved that ghetto queen. Carmen is my girl and I hope she gets what she wants/deserves from Dom, but I don't know. Definitely a must-read series !
Its about to go down in Miami! The stakes r high nw because it's babies involved in the mist of this war🤦🏾♀️ . Dom got to b exhausted he dealin wit alot, but he got a solid team. I like hw carmen bossed up on voctoria lol, yes queen! Aww...🤰🏽. Well dique is the father of keondra's daughter, but keondra better humble herself 🤦🏾♀️ she was doin too much, i hope she listens to dom warnin. Nw i gotta wait til book 3!
This series was good to read. I enjoyed Dom & Carmen.
The authors note in the beginning of this book was VERY weird. I figured some readers voiced their opinion on Dom being a cheater. Which I agree bc arranged or not, he went to her condo & crossed the line. As a reader we should be able to review a book how we want without the author being defensive & shady in the notes.
Of course anything by S. Yvonne is attention grabber. I’m loving this series already, I enjoy the way it give you a little cliffhanger but nothing that will have you too far over the edge but enough to start a good conversation and guess about what may happen. Looking forward to Part 3
I can’t wait for book 3…this is absolutely about to get straight gutta and I can’t wait. S. Yvonne has done her big one with this series. This book makes me think about my people in Miami!! You have to read this series because it will have you in every emotional state.
I wasn’t familiar with S.Yvonne writing game. This series was going viral & I finally tapped in. This series definitely got me locked in. I’m definitely Team Carmen & Dom. Definition of Power Couple. I hope love wins towards the end. This is a fast paced series with a lot of action. Straight to the point.
In the previous book I was side eyeing Dom, Carmen & Victoria. In this book there was some growth in all three characters & some relationship changes/confirmations. I’m still side eyeing Victoria. She has potential but I can see her being taken out by the time this all over all because of her obsession with Dom. We shall see.
These cliffhangers are killing me. But, let’s start with the cliffhanger from Episode 1, that was totally unexpected. Who would have thought? Poor Dru doesn’t have a clue and won’t leave well off alone. Carmen and Dom are more into their marriage. Victoria still wants Dom. Royal offsprings are multiplying and a war is getting more fierce.
I'm loving this series so far. Dominated is definitely the King of Miami from the way he moves to the way he thinks. I'm here for the love between him and Carmen. This books flows at just the right pace. The storyline isn't rushed. This is exactly what I love about S.Yvonne. Her story telling is like none other.
S. Yvonne is at it again. Dom the Miami King 2 picks up where pt. 1 left off. I love seeing the growth of Carmen and Dom. Watching their love story unfold in the mist of a cartel war makes for a great story. Definitely looking forward to pt. 3.
Ugh Dom is that guy, he just too smooth with it okay! I loved the character development with each of the characters this episode. Carmen and Dom are growing on me and i’m rooting for them Victoria’s ass too lol! I just know Dom ready tear up them Miami streets!!
Wheww Chile I wasn’t ready. It’s so good and such a cliffhanger…. Omg I can’t believe how Dom and Carmen is pregnant. I hope Keondra finally listens and don’t put her child in harm’s way. I hope O finally gets to reveal what she is into
Geez. These are so short you start getting invested then it’s over, with you waiting for the next book. I feel bad for Victoria, she is essentially alone but on the other end I’m rooting for Dom and Carmen.

All I have to say is, every single character from Dom down to his right hand Tone better survive after the smoke clears! They all deserve some semblance of peace, especially Tone. Don’t kill off Tone. Make El Blanca wish that he never met Dom
The suspense for me be building every book lol.. Dom makes me laugh, idk he can be seen as ruthless, but he do not play, a bit unhinged, and I love it lol.. Ready to see what is going to happen next..
I don’t care idc idc what you say he is the opps. It’s to many coincidences. I know one thing I hope Victoria don’t bite him in the a**. This series is getting more and more litt!
Can’t wait for part 3 Dom about to go crazy out there and I like Carmen and Dom loving on each other and I like how she ride for him no matter what. Great book
