I really like this storyline and the characters in total. Separately, they wouldn't work together but they all work really well together. I like it to the point that I'm mad that I have to wait for the 5th and final book to come out. I was given the first 4 books for review and I will definitely be picking the 5th up when it comes out. I love how spunky Michaela is. She ran away from home and lived on the streets, put herself through college and is working on getting a job for architecture. She takes the old saying of "if you get knocked down, get right back up" to a whole new level. I'm not sure how I feel about Jude. Jude runs a very successful architecture firm. He is insanely hot and successful definitely but he seems conflicted to say the least.

I have tried to type out more to my review but every time I do, I give spoilers and don't even mean to so I will leave it at this. Serial books are the bane of my existence for this exact reason; that they are never all out when I start to read a series. LOL One thing about them is that they always keep me coming back which is the point of them. I highly recommend getting these books but wait until the 5th book comes out so you don't go crazy like I do.

The first several chapters of the book are great fun. Imagine being a recent college graduate, finding a job on Craigslist, and then having an accident on the way to the job. What would you do? Would you try to reschedule? Would you continue on to the interview? You really have to read this book to see what happens to the young lady that experiences this and find out where or not she gets the job. If she doesn't, what does she do next? If she does, how does she change by this job? When does a caterpillar become a butterfly? When that caterpillar has a revelation and decides to start the chrysalis process to embrace her natural beauty. What happens to those around her? Well, Jude Lazarus has met his match on this one. Read it and find out what happens. The book ends with one heck of a cliffhanger.

I was given this book for an honest review.

This book is book one in a four book series and really this book just starts to introduce the characters.

Micheala (Mickey) is a young homeless girl looking for a new life. She lands herself at this amazing job with an amazing architect just to later find out the only reason why she got the job was because she was frumpy and ugly and they didn't want Jude Lazarus to find attractive.

I really enjoyed getting to know the characters, so far my favorite is Liz. She seems so down to earth and good spirited. The book took on a twist at the end and just ended there so I can't wait to read book two.

I liked this book, but didn't love it. Not even close.
It seemed to me that this book was just one giant prequel for the other books.
There was nothing happening. And I also didn't get the spark, that I normally feel.

Lazarus didn't appeal to me and the female lead wasn't really that special.
I hope that the next book will become better than the first one.
I will read the next books though, I can't really live with all the questions this book gave me.

I'm giving this book 3 stars, because I did like the context, the background of the characters... There were enough things to make me like the book, there weren't enough thing to make me love it though...

OMG this is going to be a hot, sexy series. Michaela is trying to make it on her own , even though her best friend Travis is there if she needs him, but when she gets the job of a life time working for the sexy , Jude Lazarus her life is fixing to change in ways she never saw coming. I want more and I want it now. this was a first for me reading this author and she left me wanting more, so much more. I would definitely read this book. I'm off to read the next one.

It's funny that Michaela is so hell bent on getting a good life that being doored and looking like a beggar didn't let her stop from her interview. But in reality, who in the right mind will still forego the interview loking like that right? That's the part that I hate most because it's a bit unrealistic. Anyway, Lazarus. The notorious boss who had fired a lot of assistants just don't justice because of the vibe he's sending. Like i can't feel much the strong dark vibe. But overall it still kept me on reading.

I am a fan of serials. I love to see how the story plays out along the way.

With that being said, I liked the start of this serial. It hurts my heart that Michaela Clark (Mickey to her friends) has had such a rough life. But I'm glad that it's made her more determined to succeed. I love her inner strength and her sharp tongue when others need to be put in their place. But most of all, I love that she is smart. That she has a knowledge and passion of architecture that Jude Lazarus appreciates.

**I was given this book for an honest review.**

Micheala (Mickey) is a young woman who lives out of her car and is looking for her first real job after college. She is your avenge girl, she doesn't stand out in any way. Because of her looks she lands the job working for Jude Lazarus. He is a very well known architect.

I love how she never lets anything stand in her way for something she wants.

Can't wait for the other books!

a good story. But I feel like I came in the middle of the story. I think there should have been a part before this one? maybe? there's no background. there's no beginning. I'm really confused.
