I have been blessed in this life to not only have parents that support me, but kids that do as well. I grew up in a loving but "Old School" French household. My parents worked for the airlines (TWA) so I was able to see a lot of Europe as a kid. I moved to Seattle Washington at the age of 22 and stayed there for twelve years before moving to Alaska for a little over two. Fairbanks, AK was one hell of an experience and I wouldn't hesitate to go back! I spent a little over a year in South Carolina before moving back to Arizona. I then left for Kansas for five years and now reside in Arizona. I've been connected to the military in one way or another for over half my life and wouldn't change a thing about it. Writing has become my full time job and I've never been so happy doing a job I love and being able to do it in my jammies. I plan on writing until I dry up and die. Hopefully, that won't happen soon!

This is the story of soldier Luke who can feel the presence of his guardian angel.

Angel Gabriel is one of only very few angels who finds himself having feelings for his charge.

When Luke's life it at stake, Gabriel throws all heavenly rules over board and falls from heaven to save Luke.

As a human, Gabriel and Luke can finally be together and live happily ever after.

While this certainly wasn't the most elaborate story, I quite liked it. I'm a sucker for angels in romances. There's hardly anything that can go wrong for me when angels are involved :-)

3 stars!

This was such a sweet short story. I loved Gabriel and Luke. I also loved Michael and Ty! Such a short story but it was jam packed with so many emotions, there was never a dry moment in the entire read. Loved it all, from the starting sentence to the finishing one. ❤️

I admit, I usually avoiding reading book about angel.
Not because I don't believe in angels, I do believe in angels and guardian angels concept, but when the angel falling in love with humans ? Have desire ?
Uhm...I still don't get it...

But I made exception about this one...
Even I still have "the not make sense thing" while I reading this story, but I found later that the story quite interesting and totally sweet.

I really like Luke's mother and her funny chats with Luke.
And Luke....?? *sigh*
He's so lucky to have a beautiful angel as his own...

How it feels, Luke ?
~ Heaven ! *grinning ear to ear*

So, forget a while about "the not make sense thing" this time, and just read it...
It's quite entertaining tho'...

This is a beautiful short story about soul mates and what it means to give up everything for the one you love.

Gabriel is an angel in heaven who looks after souls. He nurtures them until they are ready to go back to earth. He is gentle and empathetic but he has no bench mark for feelings as that is not how heaven works. When the soul is in hand ‘feels’ different, almost as though he can sense a connection with it, he is left startled and confused.

Luke is born into an army family and has no qualms believing he has a guardian angel. The stunning blonde haired beauty that he sketches is who he believes his guardian angel is and his name is Gabriel. As Luke grows up he catches glimpse of Gabriel and as a young man when his life is in danger he is sure that Gabriel is always there and looking out for him. When a tragedy strikes his family he turns his back on God and in turn Gabriel but something tells him Gabriel is still there even if he is hurting.

Gabriel is in a position where no other angel can offer advice as his situation is so unique. He has defied angelic reason and developed feelings for Luke which just grow stronger and stronger as the year’s progress. He aches to be able to touch him physically, to be with him all the time and to share his life.

This is very different from Sandrine’s norm – there are no Skull Blasters in sight for one thing – but at the same time it is also very similar. Sandrine always gives us men who seem to be at odds with their mates, whose situations often seem impossible but who do whatever it takes to have their true love. Gabriel will have to make the ultimate sacrifice to have his love and even then he may not survive, but there are no guarantees in love and Gabriel is determined to do everything in his power to obtain his dream even if the fall kills him.

I loved this story!!! I read this after reading Second Time Around featuring the character of Maverick and Ronin – try reading their story first before this one. This time though, angel Gabriel [not THAT Gabriel ^_^] found himself falling for his charge Luke. It was a beautiful story that speaks volume about true love. I dunno why I’m so into “angels” story now but I just loved me some HEA with these heavenly creatures  It’s gonna be a sure happy ending after all right? Makes me feel so good starting the new year!

Date I finished this book: January 1, 2015

It's my first read of the year!!!!

Awesome

You can not go wrong with a book by Sandrine. The love always comes through full force ,no matter who your reading about. Gabriel loved Luke so much he would die for him. I knew the movie Gabriel was referring to. It was the one with Meg Ryan and Nicolas Cage, I think the name is "City of Angels". I was envisioning the same outcome as Gabriel was and I was getting distraught a well waiting for that horrifying moment. Thank you Michael!! I can't wait to read the next book.

This was a sweet read. If you like the thought of guardian angels and self-sacrifice than this will be an amazing read. I loved that Gabriel worried about the feelings Luke inspired in him and he tried not to let it bother him when Luke was being less than glad he had his guardian angel watching after him. The relationship dynamic and relationship building between the two just made this a spectacular read.

The love these two had for each other was just so powerful and beautiful. For it being as short as it was this book had a lot of stuff going on. Another great one by Sandrine Gasq-Dion. I really really enjoyed it but make sure you read "Second Time Around" first. They're both great books.

I enjoyed this story, but not as much as the first one. The pacing was good and it was nice to see the previous characters.

I think my only complaint it's that their love was too perfect.

Looking forward to Michael & Ty's story.

The sweetest story

I love every book that Sandrine Gasq-Dion has written but this short story is exceptionally sweet. It starts with Gabriel the angel caring for the soul of Luke and falling in love with him. You will absolutely love this sweet story!

This novella should be read after its companion short story Second Time Around.

Gabriel's Fall, while much better developed than the short story, is just as sweet. Both involve the tinkering of one guardian angel, Gabriel, with the souls he is sent to protect.

At times the sweetness feels like frosting on a very fluffy cake. But Gasq-Dion succeeds in allowing the reader to suspend the imagination, at least long enough to indulge in her secret recipe for love.

Fun escapism.

The first 50% was interesting enough, I like the idea of a guardian angel falling in love with his charge. A little creepy because Gabriel was having the hots for Luke when he was still in high school. But after Gabriel has “Fallen” from his duties to save Luke, things turned too syrupy and cringing for me.

This is the second book in a series that should be read in order to recognize characters and traits you would otherwise miss.

The angel Gabriel is a keeper of souls that likes to bend the rules. He already had to clean up an angel in trainings mess when he let the wrong man die, sending the soul back to earth to be with his beloved. His job is to protect, nurture and be the guardian angel of his charges, the souls he is charged with protecting. He doesn’t feel, doesn’t touch, doesn’t love… until now. His latest charge is different from the start. Gabriel can fell the soul inside him, he can hear his charge in his mind, this should not be possible.

As time flies by Gabriel watches his charge, Luke, grow from an infant to a child then an angry teenager and, eventually, into a man. The problem is, as Luke grows, so do Gabriel’s feelings for him. The very fact that Gabriel feels anything for Luke at all defies logic for the angels. He continually blurs the lines between what he is and isn’t allowed to do, going above and beyond to ensure Luke is safe. And stranger still is the fact that Luke can actually see Gabriel, another impossibility.

Luke has grown into a strong, fierce man. He is a football star, a soldier, a devoted son and a loyal best friend. But he has never been able to find that one man that he could love, he has never been able to open his heart to anyone except his Guardian Angel, Gabriel. He can sense when Gabriel is close, he has talked to him and slowly fallen in love with the angel that held his very soul in his hands. But there are rules that cannot be broken, and if they are there are consequences that one rule breaking angel has not considered.

Oh but this book made me cry, and laugh, and cry some more. It was beautiful and amazing and passionate and just fanfuckingtastic. I was so enamored with the character of Gabriel, the twink angel with curly blood hair, amber eyes and button nose. But it was his spirit and depth of feeling that endeared me to him, his utter need that was crushing him, his need to feel Luke, to just touch him once. My heart broke for him when Luke was a boy and lashed out at his guardian, blaming him for his father’s death. But time heals all wounds and as Luke grows into a man and becomes wiser in the ways of life and of the world, he comes to realize that Gabriel couldn’t have saved his father. He also comes to realize that the reason he has never been able to love another is because his soul was claimed from the moment it was created in heaven, he was claimed by Gabriel.

I am in awe of SGD’s prowess when it comes to the human spirit, it is always evident in some way in all her books. I especially love the way she squeezes the word ‘but’ into the most random place, but it always makes perfect sense after you’ve read the sentence, and you know you are reading an SGD book, just with that one word oddly placed.

A story rich with love, passion, tenderness and the amazing power of soul mates. A must read for fans of the genre, fans of SGD’s work, or just anyone that needs to read a story that will make them laugh while crying and leave a huge smile on their face.

4.5 star review by Tara

First let me start by saying to read this it would help if you have read Second Time Around just to have a better idea of one of the main character’s here. Gabriel is one of the keeper of soul’s in Heaven. His job is to watch over a soul as it experience’s its life on earth. But this time he holds a soul that has become much more precious to him than all the others before it. He looks into the soul and he actually gets in impression of what it will look like, something new to him. This soul causes him to feel for the first time and because of this, he found it much harder to release this beautiful sphere of light onto earth. After speaking with the higher ranking angel Michael and telling him of his strange feelings with this soul, he urges him to let it go since it had been five years he has held it in his care. Despite not wanting to Gabriel lets it go and Luke is born into the world.

Gabriel can’t seem to stop watching Luke. Luke is able to know when he is there even when he isn’t visible. Gabriel is there for him every step of the way and against the urgings of the other angels, reappears to Luke on many occasions. Watching him grow makes the feelings he has for Luke become intense and problematic. Gabriel doesn’t want to see him hurt, and after a traumatic event in which Luke’s military father passes away, Luke pushes Gabriel away enraged that he couldn’t save his father. This doesn’t stop Gabriel and even though Luke seemingly hates him he still watches out for him, and falls deeper in love with Luke even though he doesn’t know what that entails yet.

I have to say I really enjoyed this short foray into the idea of guardian angels and their charges. I also loved how it was written. First person is my favorite point of view and we get both Gabriel and Luke’s thoughts. Gabriel is the sweetest angel and it makes you want to reach in the book and hug him as he endures powerful feelings for the first time. He feels everything when he sees Luke struggle with his first dealings with the bullies, his dad’s death, his being gay, and finding his place in the world. Luke was interesting to me as well. How he dealt with knowing he was different, with the ability to know his guardian angel, and recognize that he loved him as well. You want to rage with him as his world seemingly falls apart after his father’s passing. You want to give a little cheer as he picks up the pieces and goes on with his life plan. I adore happy ever afters and this one did not disappoint. The love they both had for each other since the very beginning as Gabriel the angel, and Luke the soul was gorgeous. Im not one for giving much away but I will say pick this book and the preceding one up. If you are into angels feeling, and a love that goes beyond earthly bounds, you are going to enjoy the heck out of this.

This is the follow up book to Second Time Around, but it can be read as a stand alone. I think I liked this book even better than the first one. This is a sweet love story with angels. What's not to love? This can easily be read in a sitting, and it will leave you feeling warm inside.
Gabriel has been a keeper of souls for a very long time. But when he holds his next soul, he is finding that he has feelings for his charge. That has never happened before. He speaks to Michael, yes, that Michael, and is told it had happened once before, and that the charge was given to another angel to watch over. Gabriel was not going to let his charge go. His soul became Luke Lawson. Gabriel watched over Luke very carefully. And to his surprise, Luke could see him and sense him as well. Gabriel was falling in love with Luke, but he stayed quiet, coming to Luke when he was needed. But when Gabriel looked in to the future while Luke was overseas on a delta force special op mission, he saw Luke dying. He had to save Luke so he fell from Heaven. Giving up his immortality to save Luke is only the beginning. There is so much more to this book that you have to read for your self. It is a really sweet love story with life long friends in it and a great side story as well. If you like a light, heart warming story, grab a copy of this book. It sure warmed my heart right when I needed it most.

Wow, just wow, Sandrine has done it again. Gabriel & Luke's story is a beautifully written love story which we are lucky enough to witness from the beginning, and i really do mean the very beginning. It's wonderful to go through their lives with them sharing the ups and downs of their lives apart and finally together. Loved the fact that we got to catch up with Maverick and Ronin from second time around as that's where this all started.
I do hope there is a third book being planned as i would love to see what if anything changes for Michael and Ty.

BEAUTIFUL-AMAZING-INCREDIBLE

What a beautifully written, amazingly, incredible story this is. The story of Gabriel and Luke was fascinating. How this beautiful, innocent soul could be sent to earth already imprinted with the love of its life. This was a terrific love story between heaven and earth. The way this story can wrap you up is what storytelling is all about. I loved this story from beginning to end. I thought it was just incredible. If you want to read a beautiful love story, this is it. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS BOOK!!!

Gabriel's Fall

I loved this story about Gabriel and Luke. Gabriel was an angel who fell in love with his charge. Luke has been in love with Gabriel since he was a boy. Gabriel was so in love with Luke that he almost died to save Luke but a higher being saved his life instead and Gabriel became human. There is up and downs in this book and Sandrine wrote an excellent book with a heart warming love for all time. Erin

Great follow-up

I enjoy this author tremendously. She writes great love stories. She makes me care about her characters and I never fail to become wrapped up in their world and to care deeply for each and every one of them. I enjoy that her stories are so well edited that I don't become bogged down with spelling errors, misused words, or any other jolts to the pleasure of reading her stories. Thank you for another very enjoyable read.
