Hali Waverly is in a tailspin. Learning her grandmother wasn’t who she always believed—a good witch with pure motives—has thrown her entire world in tumult. She has no idea how to make things better. Gray Hunter wants nothing more than to propose to his girlfriend. He keeps telling himself that as soon as things calm down, he’ll pop the question. Unfortunately, he and Hali live in a world where nothing is ever calm. That’s never been more obvious than during a trip to Tampa when a car goes barreling into a crowd at a farmer’s market. The driver is a shifter. He keeps saying things in a language nobody recognizes. Nobody but Hali that is. When Hali tries to talk the shifter down, he’s rushed to the hospital, where he dies from injuries nobody knew he had. It seems a spell took him over, and Hali has exactly one suspect to chase. Her grandmother’s dark past is about to collide with Hali’s present, and the magic will fly. The only question is, who will come out victorious on the other side? Will dark or light magic win the day? It’s time to find out.
Fantastic installment! Thins with Grandma Martha come to a head and there's something going on in the Shifter community. How will Hali and Gray handle it all? Also the ending is epic!!!!

To find out everything that goes on and if they can save the young followers of Hester I recommend you get this book and read it as fast as you can my friends;)
I'm not one to give away anything about a book because I don't like when it happens to me. What I will tell you is if you like cozy mysteries with great characters, good store lines, and sweet romances. It has action, a touch of humor, and its just one of those you would want to read and enjoy because it not trashy or bloody. Then start with book one of this series. I don't think you'll disappointed but don't take my word for it read it yourself.
I read this one as a standalone book (having never read any others in the series) so I was kind of pleased and surprised when I was able to fully understand what was going on.There is enough heaviness in the world that I mostly enjoy my books to help me get away from that and this book succeeded in spades! I enjoy books where supernatural beings such as shape shifters & witches may live among us regular folk without us even knowing.
I am by no means a hopeless romantic, yes I like romance but I prefer mystery... this gave it all. I am glad that Gray and Haley got their happy ending, well at least for now. on pins and needles waiting for the next adventure. oh and I got a new restaurant I want to try the next time we are in the St. Pete area...
Book 12 has good magic, black magic, traitors, enemies, witches, shifters, and humans. The bad witch is causing chaos all over 2 towns and killing and injuring innocents in the process. And a nice surprise in the end. Highly entertaining.
I had so much fun reading this book. I think this book is an excellent picture of how Hali and Gray’s relationship has progressed. I was also very pleased with the way the coven will be (probably?) represented in the future. It was time for Martha to get a grip. Lol.
This series is fun to read. The main characters development is so crystal clear you can see them, as if you were a fly on wall watching everything. This book was a fun read with action, romance, comedy, and suspense. The characters are sarcastic and snarky and I love it!
Tensions are high as more damage comes into the community
With the continued hunt for Hester, odd paranormals events seem to point back to her… or do they? When a shifter drives into a crowd, Hali and Gray are looking for Hester as a cause. Are they right?
Either way they continue to show they are right for each other. Side by side they will face whatever shows up.
Another great story in the series. I love the characters and the storyline that the author has developed. All her characters are so interesting and complete.
It’s another step along the way and I had hoped the matter would have been solved this time. I liked the story though and the characters are likeable and interesting. I’m looking forward to the next book in the series, which will be released at the beginning of next year. 5 stars.
Hali and Gray are a good team. The whole crew works well together. Poor Rusty and his love life. Hopefully he finds his forever person. The fights are great Hali is one badaxx witch.
I have loved everything that Lily Harper Hart has written and this book was no exception! Filled with witches and magic, jealousy and evil, love and family.
Someone is using innocents to kill people and send a message to Hali. Dangerous enemies and a love that will live forever. Great light serious and no cliffhanger.
Exciting and frightening. This book reminds us that the world has good and evil. Getting to those ends is never simple. Life is complicated and so are people.
At 50% of the book I can honestly say it’s a cute, fun story like the others in the series.
However, while I generally enjoy how funny Rusty is, I f’n hate, hate, hate how ridiculously pushy he is about Hali’s grandmother. Like come on now. I’m not sure he could be more of a tool about trying to guilt trip Hali to do want he wants, like she not entitled to have her own opinions or feelings on her own grandmother, who he’s only know for such a little amount of time in comparison, he’s all like I know better then you. He clearly doesn’t have Hali’s feelings or wellbeing in mind, just her grandmother’s, which is weird and honestly yucky feeling. seriously, if this keeps going I’m going to start hoping he ends up with swift kick in the a**, and to gtfo.
It unfortunately, seems to be a common theme with these book where the FMC is pushed to be an angelic paragon of forgiveness, or she is browbeaten by every other character that she is being unreasonable, and ridiculous to not bend her beliefs to let things go and move on on their timeline. To me the vibe feels too much like “how dare you hold someone accountable for their actions, you stupid child”.
58% - gross 🤢. The browbeating continues from ever angle. This FMC needs to grow a backbone and tell everyone to gtfo.
61% - oh f all the way off, with this forced togetherness. Boundaries people.
75% - i hate when FMC turn into doormats, as if they couldn’t possibly stay (justifiably) angry with anyone for any meaningful amount of time. It’s just excuse, excuse, lame excuse instant I’m not angry anymore. There are never any consequences or change in behaviour from the offending party. Blech.
95% - g-ma is a lying liar who lies, and Rusty is a tool who should show more honesty to who should actually have it. I really hope Hali actually holds her ground this time, but based on the rest of this book, I’m not sure I trust that hope.
100% - ending was cute.
I’m not really sure what it is about this book… I usually find this series to be a quick, cute, fun, easy read, but this one just irritated me from the moment Rusty popped up and it didn’t get better. I still enjoyed it enough to keep reading the series, but the vibe in this one just felt off to me.
