The two girls reconnect and Maeve is forced into a deal that not only pushes her out of her comfort zone but has her working with the mysterious rebel group, the Rising.
Maeve soon learns Gen has been keeping a lot of secrets, not only about her disappearance, but the world they live in, including what Maeve can only describe as magic. Pulled into a new world and desperate to keep often conflicting promises, Maeve has to put on a mask and balance her secret work with the Rising and her life under the watch of The Order. Through it all she is forced to ask herself what her role is, and more importantly, if she can handle the weight of everyone’s expectations. Everyone she loves might rely on it.

I was fortunate enough to read an advanced copy of this book. (Will be released Oct.2 through Amazon). There were many unexpected plot twists to keep even us older readers interested. Looking forward to the next one in the series.

What a great read (I did read the pre-release version). This book is well written and demonstrates a strong storyline and well defined characters. As you read, it is easy to become closer to the characters and develop a relationship with them I will read the published version available on Amazon in October.
