"How fine you look when dressed in rage." - Cheshire Cat
Alixe, a Shade, is tasked with hunting Athan, who has been reborn as a human. She suspects a tech giant, Theophilus Carter, of being the former Prince of Envy. While conducting her investigation, she encounters Jaxon, a charming but rare soulless Phantom who has infiltrated Carter's inner circle. When an enigmatic ghost appears, Alixe hunts it through a strange realm where time is warped. She gains clues to Carter’s identity, but each passage through the realm forces her to confront the pain of her deepest memories that have shaped who she is.
Jaxon has made deals with more people than he can keep track of in his daily fight for survival. As he is pulled deeper into Alixe’s hunt for Athan, he finds a kindred soul in Alixe, but also realizes the choices he’s made offer little hope for both of them to survive.
Together, they pursue the truth through a realm where up seems like down and where time has twisted Alixe’s life. They discover Athan’s hidden secret, but to escape an impossible maze, Alixe must change everything she believes about herself and learn to trust again.
Georgia spends most of her time lost in fantastical worlds, thinking up wild ways to entertain readers who love romantic fantasy.
The Shadows and Light series are Georgia's first published novels, a planned six book series of love, political intrigue, intricate worldbuilding, magic and mystical creatures, and legends and lore. The story is an epic fantasy, heavily focused on character-driven storylines, both heroes, the morally gray, and the despicable. Books 1-5 are now available on Kindle Unlimited, Amazon and Audible.
Disenchanted Tales is a dark(ish) and steamy series of novels inspired by fairy tales, myths and fables. Book 1 -3 are now available on Kindle Unlimited and Amazon.
Georgia lives in California and when not spending time with her family, working and writing, she is an avid competitive equestrian.
Time is a fickle mistress, but one we all have to submit to. Alxie and Jaxon are 2 sides to the same coin, only they don’t know it. Their lives have led them to mistrust, guard their hearts and live in solitude. What if their parts could be changed? What if they were destined for more?
The third book in the disenchanted series is my favorite so far. Taking a nod to Alice in Wonderland, we find that not everything is what it seems and sometimes you’ve got to trust that someone will drop their guard and truly give you what you need most….. time.
If you like dark, spicy romantasy of two very broken people coming together to see and accept each other this is it! If you don’t do well with bisexual or queer experiences, this isn’t for you since there is also a navigating of personal identity, working through past pains and hurts, and allowing yourself to love and be vulnerable with new people again.
This book is based loosely off Alice in Wonderland and the warping of space, time, and dealing with different possible outcomes to painful times in life. It’s fairly high fantasy in the world of gods, demons, and other celestial beings also mixing in the human world but once you get a hang of the characters involved, it gets interesting realllll fast. You’re wondering what has happened in both of their pasts to make them the way they are. One extremely guarded and to have sworn off men after all the pain in her human life. He is a phantom meaning most think he is less than, sucking life off of others yet he may be the one that sees others so much more clearly. What would they do and sacrifice to be truly free the way they have desired all their celestial lives? It’s engaging, it’s steamy, it’s deep, it’s a great read!
I was privileged to read the ARC and have read all of the disenchanted tales series so far - they’re based in ideas of familiar fairytales but with a darker spicier twist!
Really enjoyed this 3rd installment of the Disenchanted series! Leigh has done such an amazing job of reimagining these fairytales as something familiar, yet completely new. This one was inspired by Alice in Wonderland. I was not a fan of the original Alice in Wonderland story, but this I absolutely loved. Also, while these books are interconnected, you really do need to start with book 1, Beast, and read them in order to really get the full story.
Alixe (such a cool play on the name) and Jaxon were really easy to love characters. I adored Alixe for her fierceness and independence, but I also loved her journey to becoming who she was meant to be. She showed a tough willingness to trust Jaxon which felt so authentic and organic to me. Jaxon was a little too hasty and eager for my taste, but I also think the way things went about was appropriate for the story. Their first scene with Aerika was hot as hell.
I also really appreciated the bi representation here. We don't see nearly enough bi women in fantasy stories like this, so I'm grateful when we do get them. I thought it was done very well and I also think Jaxon's acceptance of that was so refreshing.
The overall story was very fascinating and well paced, it definitely kept me interested and it was hard to put it down once I started. There were some great personal moments for each character, as well as some great banter between them, which I really enjoyed. It was also nice seeing some of the previous books' characters sprinkled in. Previously, I felt that the characters didn't get enough "after" story at the ends of their books, so this was very satisfying to read about. Hopefully we will hear more about Alixe and Jaxon in the next book.
I will say, I'm so sick of Athan...ugh lol. But he's a necessary link for all these stories so I get it. LOL
If you've read the first two books of this series, then definitely grab this one!
Thank you to the author for an early copy of this book. As always, this review is my honest feedback and given voluntarily.
Ms. Leigh’s reimagining of Alice in Wonderland was phenomenal. I have yet to figure out how she ties all the information she gives readers together. I feel like Ms. Leigh writes her books surrounded by whiteboards so she can tie everything together. How she remembers all this stuff is beyond me. I just appreciate all the journeys she takes readers on. This book is no different. Alixe, a shade is on a mission for Nyx. They need to find Athan. They know he has taken human form but not where or who he is. If you have read the previous books in this series, a lot of these names will be familiar. Unfortunately Alixe is not the only one looking for Athan. Mammon has enlisted the help of Jaxon.
Jaxon is a phantom living on borrowed time. He follows Alixe's leads to a man that may be the vessel for Athan's soul. Theophilus Carter seems to be the best candidate. Alixe tries to get close to him through a job and Jaxon is already in the inner circle using his phantom gifts to help Carter make deals. Jaxon and Alixe keep running into each other. Alixe tries to fight her attraction to him. Every man she has been with in any capacity has hurt her. Steering clear of men seems like her best bet. Jaxon is there for a specific reason. Mammon has promised him more time.
Both Jaxon and Alixe were looking for freedom. Would they find it with each other? Alixe finds herself going through a series of portals when trying to find the truth of Athan and Carter. Theses portals lead her to different times of her life ending. Are these portals real or are they showing her would could have been? I could not put this book down. I had to know where it was going. What was going on with Alixe and these portals? Will Alixe and Jaxon get together? Can they be together? Jaxon had an agenda coming into this. Will he abandon that agenda for Alixe? This book raised a lot of questions and answered them all. I can't wait to see where the next installment of this series will take us.
Hunter by Georgia C Leigh is book three in the Disenchanted Tales series. I’m a huge fan of the previous books so I was going into this one with the highest hopes. I’m happy to say that it exceeded all of my expectations. This book is inspired by Alice in Wonderland but the author truly made a wonderful world full of complex characters and story that completely drew me in to where I didn’t want to put the book down. (Don’t worry there will be no spoilers!) Alixe was such a fantastic character she was fierce but her journey of learning to trust and who she was supposed to be was great. Then there’s Jaxon, I did question some of his choices but overall I really enjoyed him as a character and his willingness to accept certain elements. I huge highlight for me was the banter between Alixe and Jaxon… amazing! I thought the author did a phenomenal job with the writing; everything moved at a steady pace and I loved that I had moments of surprise. The world was perfectly described that I could imagine and lose myself in the story being told. I do recommend starting at the beginning of the series as the books are all interconnected. I cannot wait for the next book in the series as each one just keeps getting better and better. I highly recommend not only this series but every other book that this author has written. Two thumbs way up, I loved this book so much.
Georgia C. Leigh has done something that no author has done in a while… made me miss a vital clue in your story! I’m an avid reader and pride myself on catching even the smallest hints and details, but Hunter completely fooled me—in the best possible way. I totally missed a vital connection. When the truth finally clicked, I was shocked (and admittedly a little mad at myself for overlooking it). That twist made the story even more satisfying and reminded me how much I love being surprised by a book. The world-building, emotional depth, and tension kept me turning pages late into the night. Georgia C. Leigh’s storytelling is immersive and layered, rewarding readers who pay attention—yet still capable of catching even the most observant off guard. Now, I’m beyond excited for Witch! It sounds like it will blend my love of spirituality and fascination with the stars perfectly. If it’s anything like Hunter, I know I’m in for another spellbinding journey.
This was my first Alice and Wonderland reimaging! Jaxson and Alixe's journey throughout this book had my emotions all over the place. Everything that Alixe has been through is horrible as well as Jaxson. The question that is asked often in this story is could you change things from your past and would you? I felt Everytime Alixe tried to change things and it made things worse. It doesn't help that the God's meddle with their lives. Georgia dies a fantastic job making these fairytale reimagings and blending them together with the two books before Hunter. The world building is fantastic and easy to follow. I appreciated how she brought back Zane, Rori, Eliyia, and Remi! I fell for Jaxson and Alixe's love story. They both had their own separate lives, but they seem to learn how to love and trust each other. I can't wait for the next book in the series!

Every time I think I’ve found a favorite book by Georgia, she completely blows me out of the water. Hunter is an amazingly well crafted story not only through time, but through an incredibly complex world full of threads to be pulled and rabbit holes to fall into. I love that each of these books stand so well on their own, but their interconnected characters call you to new and exciting journeys. Alixe is truly a woman after my own heart. I felt so seen in her anger and rage, and in her growth as a character. Who are we really when we open our eyes to our own faults and embrace all the messiest parts of ourselves instead of running? I can’t wait to read the next book in this series!
Georgia did it again! Her writing is so enthralling that I couldn’t put the book down. I’ve loved every story in this series, but Hunter might just be my favorite. I didn’t think it could get any better, but Georgia proved me wrong.
Alixe is such a strong, layered FMC, and Jaxon—phew—is an incredible MMC. They’re so similar in all the right ways, and that’s what makes their connection so powerful. Watching them learn to trust each other after everything they’ve been through was genuinely moving.
This book will remind you that not everything is as it seems, and sometimes you have to take a leap of faith and trust someone else. I can’t wait for the next book!
Book 3 in this series and whewww did it pack a PUNCH!! I have fell in love with this series and Ms. Georgia did not disappoint at all!!
The whole story was amazing and it defiantly kept me reading and hooked into the whole book. This one was inspired by Alice in Wonderland and it was perfectly written. With all the books being interconnected, I still really suggest starting with book 1, Beast just so you can read them in order to really and fully get the whole story.
WOW! Georgia did it yet again!! I literally couldn’t put this book down and kept getting mad I was interrupted😂 I have loved every single book of this series and this one I think is the best yet and I didn’t think this series could get any better!! Alixe is so amazing! Her character and what she has gone through was a roller coaster! Jaxon is just as amazing as an MMC! I absolutely loved him! I can’t wait to see where the next book goes!! Whatever Georgia writes I am here for it all!!
What a wild ride! Ms. Georgia, the way you bring characters to life and really make you feel for them is astonishing! I have loved all the main characters in these books and love how they are intertwined in each of these books! Great work! I highly recommend all the books in your disenchanted series!
Book 3 in the series packs a heavy punch as you delve into the themes from Alice in Wonderland.
Demons, angels, shades, phantoms, gods, a fallen prince of Tartarus (hell) and so much more are packed into this intricate story. There are plots and subplots with subplots of their own to keep you guessing.
I loved the two main characters, Alixe and Jaxon. Two peas in a pod. Both living half lives, always running from the past or out of time. Neither one is capable of trust after lifetimes of betrayals. Their story is inspirational in how they work together to break through those barriers and find not only trust but love.
A tale of two broken people trying to find a way to become whole, whilst also hunting a fallen prince. I loved the twists and turns that kept me hooked from the first paragraph all the way to the cheeky little teaser for book 4 at the end.
Georgia's way of telling a story keeps me coming back every single time and I can't wait to see what's in store for Daria and Luka 🖤
I really enjoyed this book I love how this series gives more depth what is happening but revolving around a new couple with the struggles and twists and surprises you don’t see coming and setting it up for the next book
How do you do it?? Brilliant! This story kept building and building and then left us another jolting cliffhanger!! Character depth was absolutely amazing!! I also love how the MCs all intertwined throughout the series! Loved the spice 🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️. Thanks for another great read!! Anxiously awaiting more….
