Greek: Έριχ φον Νταίνικεν

Erich Anton Paul von Däniken (1935–2026) was a Swiss author of several pseudoscientific books which made claims about extraterrestrial influences on early human culture, including the best-selling Chariots of the Gods?, published in 1968. Däniken was one of the main figures responsible for popularizing the "paleo-contact" and ancient astronauts hypotheses.

The ideas put forth in his books are rejected by virtually all scientists and academics, who categorize his work as pseudohistory, pseudoarchaeology, and pseudoscience. Early in his career, he was convicted and served time for several counts of fraud or embezzlement, and wrote one of his books in prison.

Okay, this book absolutely delivers! When you put Mauro Biglino and Erich von Däniken together, you know you're in for something special, and Skies Afire does not disappoint.
The research here is seriously impressive. Biglino brings his linguistic expertise with ancient texts, von Däniken contributes his decades of archaeological fieldwork, and together they've created something that really makes you stop and think. These guys aren't just throwing wild theories at the wall—they're methodical, they're detailed, and they back up what they're saying.
What I love most is how this book adds real weight to the ancient alien theory. The way they connect ancient accounts with archaeological evidence that mainstream scholars struggle to explain? Fascinating stuff. They take you through textual analysis, cross-cultural patterns, and artifacts that genuinely challenge conventional history. It's the kind of book that has you wanting to discuss it with everyone.
The writing keeps you engaged throughout. It's accessible but never dumbs things down, which I really appreciate. They respect that you're here to learn something substantial, not just be entertained with sensationalism.
Whether you're already deep into this topic or just curious about alternative perspectives on human history, Skies Afire is absolutely worth your time. This is how research in this field should be done—thorough, compelling, and genuinely thought-provoking.

Extraordinary insight into the Bible and when we keep things straight forward we can delve deeper into the more meaningful information that it gives us. I have read Biglinos previous English translated books. But now heading to ‘Jesus Demigod’ as that one skipped my radar. Can’t wait to begin this next chapter.
