One wrong turn in the woods was the start of something oh so right.

Ash, a local tour guide and bear shifter, has always hoped fate would bring him his mate but he didn’t expect him to be an ill-prepared hiker with a smile that makes his heart race.. When Theo witnesses more than he should and flees back to the safety of the city, Ash fears he’s lost the one person he’s meant to be with.

But Theo can’t forget the man or the bear and returns to discover there’s more than love growing between them.

With a combination of laughter, lake days, and a surprise delivery in a boat, this fated mates’ mpreg romance is full of the right amount of wild.

So cute.

This was such a fun cute read. I had a blast reading it. I have to say that the last lake part was my favorite. Timelines and nature can be tricky.

Wrong Turn, Right Bear is the story of Theo a human omega and Ash an alpha bear shifter. This was a fun quick read. This is a fated mates story so the relationship moves pretty quickly. I felt these two were definitely opposites but fit perfectly together. I loved everything about the story. It had me laughing at several times. I would definitely recommend this book.

Wrong Turn, Right Bear is the first book in the series, ‘Beartastic Summer of Love.’ It stars Theo, a human omega, and Ash, an Alpha bear shifter. This is told in first person from Theo and Ash’s pov.

The title of this book is similar to this author team’s other series. I’m trying to figure out how, the part, ‘Wrong Turn’ works in the book title though. Theo chose the trip, and he arrived safely at the correct place so he never took a ‘wrong turn.’ I suppose it could refer to him getting lost in the woods, but that is long after he meets Ash. So, the title doesn’t completely sound correct. Right Bear works however.

The blurb gives a basic rundown of the plot so I don’t need to mention much more. The pace is very good in this. The writing is much crisper which moves the plot along. The part where it slowed down, is right after Ash and Theo mate and Theo becomes pregnant. Everything slowed down probably because there wasn’t any more conflict.

For the first three-quarters of the book, the authors did a fantastic job of creating unique characters, with distinct voices. One of my peeves is the authors don’t do this in their stories. But they did in this one, at least until Theo and Ash mated and Theo became pregnant. Sadly, once he was, his personality changed. He was no longer this hyper, guy who was quite imaginative and came up with wild scenarios. Theo turned into a calm, pretty much laid-back guy when you’d think all the hormones running through him would have made Theo even more hyper. It was mentioned that Theo was said to be clumsy when he was introduced, but there was nothing about him that was clumsy. Unprepared for the outdoors sure, but never clumsy. When Theo became pregnant, both character voices morphed to being close to the same. It was then difficult to tell them apart just by their actions and voices.

This was one of the better books I’ve read by this author team. I was even thinking about giving five stars because the pace and characters were very good, up until the pregnancy, when the authors slid back into the same writing style of their other books where characters have similar voices, and there’s nothing exciting about what the characters do once they get pregnant. Thankfully, the pregnancy was short in this story.

Overall, I enjoyed ‘Wrong Turn, Right Bear,’ up until the pregnancy, after that the story and characters flattened out, which was disappointing. However, since most of the story was fun, I’ll give this 4 Stars and recommend this as one of the author’s teams better books.

Theo is over worked and plans a vacation to a mountain resort. After booking the trip and different activities he goes out and buys everything he will need. He tries his boots on and walks around in them for a bit and figures it is good enough. He packs and get to bed so that he am ready the next day to go. When Theo lands he doesn't feel very good. The ride to the hotel shows the mountains and the river, it is a gorgeous view. Theo relaxes and gets ready for his adventures the next day, he is not very excited about animals in the forest. Ash is an Alpha Bear Shifter, he owns and runs Ash's Outdoor Escapes. Ash has his cousin Mollie answer the phones sometimes. Ash takes tours for, hiking, rock climbing, kayaking, zip lining, small groups or single person tours. When Ash meets Theo his bear says it is his mate. Ash has to tread lightly because Theo is human and probably does not know about shifters. After his kayak lesson Theo does not want to leave Ash, but he has a hike in a few hours so he needs to rest some. When the hike starts Theo is regretting not wearing his boots more because his feet are starting to hurt. Ash checks Theo's feet at a rest area and finds blisters, Theo cannot continue so Ash goes on with the rest of the group and Theo goes back to the hotel with Chuck the grounds keeper. While on the way back to the hotel Theo and Chuck hear noises and see eyes. Chuck goes off to take care of it while Theo tries to get back to the hotel. Later that evening Theo sees Ash and tries to follow him but then he sees a bear and two wolves. Theo runs to his room and locks himself in determined to return home the next day. Ash tries to explain that they are shifters and they will not hurt Theo but he is not sure. After Ash goes outside and shifts again for Theo to see, Theo finally lets Ash in his room to talk. Theo leaves the next day to go back home after talking with Ash . Once at home Theo is miserable, he cannot think and only wants to spend time with Ash. Will Theo return to the mountains and to Ash????.

Theo really only knows the city and work. He's decided it's finally time to listen to the advice of all his friends, to take a break. For reasons he can't quite understand as he is most certainly not an outdoor person, he books an outdoor activity break, for a whole week! He attempts to prepare, walking around his apartment for a few minutes in his brand new walking boots. But whilst he isn't too bad rowing on the lake the walk leaves him with blisters and slightly terrified after a run in with a wolf. When his tour guide then appears to be something more than he looks Theo doesn't think he can take any more, he cuts his stay short but once home he simply can't settle, something is missing.

Ash is a bear shifter and has set up his own outdoor adventure business, with the occasional help from a couple of family members and a few other shifter friends in the local community. He takes visitors on the lake, teaching them to kayak, there are hikes, zip lining too. He loves his home, loves his job, is comfortable with the shifter community around him but he is missing one thing. His fated mate. He accepts he'll be very fortunate to find his one, his fated, but that doesn't stop either he or his bear hoping they'll find them. The moment he meets Theo there is a connection and he is certain Theo notices it too, the only problem is Theo is completely human, he is going to have to be careful how he reveals himself...

Theo and Ash are both excellent characters, full of personality, strong feelings and opinions. Ash is more outgoing but Theo feels a draw and despite being terrified it is something he can't ignore. There is laughter, there are fun days out, there is a big reveal, there is plenty of love and passion and there is the most gorgeous happy ever after for this fated pair.

One wrong turn leads to the right mate, the right love.

Theo never planned to fall for a rugged outdoorsman in a small mountain town. A quick trip was supposed to be a break from his city life, not a crash course in hiking disasters, wild encounters, and a guide whose steady presence made it hard to breathe. But Ash is more than he seems, and Boulder Pass holds a truth that changes everything.

Ash knew the second he saw Theo that he was his fated mate. Patience and trust were key, but when the truth about his life as a bear shifter comes out, Theo runs. Letting him go is the hardest thing Ash has ever done. Waiting for him to return feels impossible, but love sometimes circles back when you least expect it.

When Theo returns, it’s not just for Ash, but for the life they can build together. Their connection deepens, tested by fear, distance, and the pull of a future neither imagined. As they face the reality of a mate bond, new challenges, and a fresh start, they learn that love’s not about perfect timing, but about the courage to stay.

Theo grows from a reluctant visitor to someone who embraces the shifter world and a new life in Boulder Pass. Ash moves from a guarded guide to a committed partner willing to be vulnerable and adapt for love. Their relationship shifts from initial attraction and misunderstandings to deep trust, mutual support, and building a future together.

A steamy, MM, fated mates, bear shifter, second chance, opposites attract, small town romance, with mpreg, exploring love, trust, self-discovery, acceptance, family, and fate. Wrong turns, second chances, fated love, and the family you build when you choose each other. It’s about trust, transformation, and finding home.

Wrong Turn, Right Bear is a standalone story set in a contemporary omegaverse by Colbie Dunbar. This is also the second book of the series Beartastic Summer, however, with no real links between the stories, there is no issues just picking up this book.

This is a really sweet romance between a human omega from the city, Theo, and a bear shifter alpha, Ash, from the country/mountains. If you're into a fish out of water (not literally!) romance, with the city boy finding love and life away from civilisation, then this is a book that will suck you in.

Theo and Ash have an instant connection, although with Theo being on holidays and Ash being his guide throws the first spanner in the works of their story. While romance and passion are there in abundance between them, communication is key and learning about each other beyond the instalove.

I'm a total sucker for MM omegaverse stories, with hot couples, sweet and knotty sex and cute babies, so I'm loving this.

Get comfortable you won’t put it down until the last page has been turned because human and shifters are always a little tricky. Theo, a human omega in need of a break from his life in the city, an adventure in mountains or country away pretty much so he books himself a hike so excited and he heads out on his adventure meets the sexiest tour guide but along way he encounters a wild animal among other things. Ash, a local tour guide Alpha Bear shifter has always wanted his mate but year in, year out no mate until he meets a hiker that isn’t prepared for the hike at all but his smile, his voice, his scent tells him that he belongs to him, and fate has finally given him a mate. However while on the hike Theo witness a shifter incident and despite the tingles he got every time Ash touched him or how happy he was when he was around him he preferred safety so home in the city but Ash wasn’t willing to lose his mate but will Theo give him a chance to explain his world, will he give them a chance, and have they found happiness?

This is another delightful addition to Colbie’s Wrong /Right- series, featuring vacationing Theo meeting bear shifter Ashby as his outdoor guide. The attraction is there, as well as the freak out when Theo learns Ash turns into an animal, a potentially vicious animal, and that he thinks they are mates! Mate with an animal when he’s human—no way! And off he goes to civilization. But wait, if Ash can’t have another mate, is Theo dooming Ash to a life of loneliness? And Ash is kind of hot — and sexy — and gives Theo a really weird tummy, maybe he should rethink this, or at least see Ash again. So he does, and nature seems to take over from there, heading toward the expected baby and HEA. These books are short, but with really engaging characters, often quite a bit of humor, and interesting situations with initial meetings and problems to be solved. A really enjoyable way to spend an hour or two with a light-hearted tale and a happy ending for all involved.

This book is part of a multi-author series. Beartastic Summer of Love. Each book is a standalone read. This is a story of Theodore (Theo) Cannon and Ash Barrow. Theo is a human omega who is suffering from burn out from work. To recharge himself he has decided to do something completely out of the norm for him. He has booked himself an outdoor vacation adventure. Ash Barrow is an experienced outdoors man who’s lived in the area most of his life. He is also an alpha bear shifter. The two meet when Ash shows up as Theo's guide for a kayaking lesson. Ash knows immediately that Theo is his fated mate. He realizes that he only has a week to woo him before Theo returns home. This is their story. I loved them chemistry between them and how it kept getting stronger. Of course there are some challenges to get through but Fate doesn't make mistakes. The book is well written and easy to read. I really enjoyed the book. It is a fun read.

This was a really sweet story about Theodore Cannon, who is a human he had worked really hard in his job working long hours and had decided that he deserved a week in a mountain retreat to enjoy nature. Theo hadn’t had a lot of outdoor activities in his life, and this was a a new thing for him, and when he arrived at the resort, he thought that if he didn’t like something, he could just cancel them and relax instead, when he met his guide Ash, who is a bear shifter and who would take him on adventures, he was instantly attracted to him, and when they shook hands, there was an electric connection. What he didn’t realise was that Ash was his fated mate. they court ship wasn’t easy, and Theo rejected him at first, but then couldn’t live with himself and came back and they go onto to live happily ever after. Of course it’s not cut and dried so simply, but it was a sweet romance.

I was given an advanced copy of this book to read and I am reviewing with my honest and fair opinion.

"No one liked goodbyes, especially when the one you loved was walking out of your life forever."

This is book 2 in the Beartastic Summer multi-authored series written by Colbie Dunbar. When I saw this on Booksprout I knew I had to have it. Colbie is an instant grab for me.

Oh my gosh, this was so cute and I had so much trouble putting it down when it was time to go to bed. It was a quick fun read at 102 pages, I should have started it earlier in the day. This had everything I love in a shifter/human story. I laughed out loud several times and anytime a book makes me laugh or smile it's a winner in my book, or their book in this case, lol.

Theo is feeling burned out at work and in need of a break from his routine. So he schedules a vacation that is different from what he is used and he is determined to try all kinds of outdoor things while there. He does not understand his need to go but once he gets there he meets Ash who is the guide that helps guests and town folks to try all of these outdoor activities. He also happens to be Theo's fated mate. But Theo is human and not aware of shifters. Still he finds himself drawn to Ash. Their journey to their HEA and the start of their family has a hiccup or two but they get there and Theo makes a change he truly needed. All for the better.

Theo and Ash story was endearing with a bittersweet undertone.
Their journey was a bit bumpy as the truth was revealed unexpectedly, there was reluctance in accepting it, and the temporary separation created heartache.
They have sweet, loving moments together, supportive friends, and a future in the making to bring them happiness.
I liked the improvements to their professional life, the balance they found, and the little bundle of joy that made them complete.
I liked the story, and I’m looking forward to the next adventure.

These human and shifter matings are always tricky with this series which makes them real entertaining. It's nice to see sometimes that everything is not always instalove with fated pairings. Theo had a struggle coming to terms with being Ash's mate but things work out so well when he realized his feelings are real and fate was on point with matching him with Ash. Their romance was hard earned and oh so sweet. Very nice. I really do love this series. Hope to read more.

Comedy of errors! Ash, tour guide and bear shifter enjoys his job and long for his fated mate. Theo, city boy is looking for some relaxing downtime. That is so not his nature that the idea of embracing nature is laughable. Theo, bravely wanted to experience life. Delightful story, funny all the way through. One should step outside one's box and learn to live and exist. Great story of finding one's mate and learning new things. Fun, nicely done. I received an ARC and am voluntarily leaving a review.

This was a super sweet yet also funny read.
Theo was looking for a break from the rat race of his job and so he booked a week-long vacation in the mountains. Ash is a bear shifter and lived most of his life in the mountains. He had his own tour and adventure Guide business. Upon meeting Theo he knew that was his mate. Theo is human and you nothing of shifters so when he accidentally saw Ash and to others shift he was in a panic. After heartache and some soul searching their love story begun.

4.25 stars!

This is book one in the Beartastic Summer of Love multi author series and features Theo, an exhausted omega city dweller needing a break from the rat race who goes on a nature getaway and Ash, a bear shifter tour guide who does his best to tempt his city boy mate to want to stay.

Although sweet and with adorable MCs, I thought it was a little slow. It did have steam and we got our HEA so I wasn’t disappointed really, I just would have preferred a little faster pace. 4.25 stars!.

This is a fairly short, spicy, mpreg shifter romance between a human and a bear shifter. Theo’s initial reaction to learning that shifters exist was believable. While I usually prefer slow burn romance, the fated mates aspect makes sense for Theo and Ash becoming mates before really getting to know each other.

While this is part of a series, it works just fine as a standalone.

I really enjoyed this fated mates story about human Theo and bear shifter Ash met Theo had no idea shifters existed but Ash knew Theo was his mate and we get a great story about how Theo had went back to the city after he'd first seen Ash's bear but he couldn't stop thinking of Ash and wanting to be with him so he went back to Boulder Pass to be with Ash we then get a sweet story of them mating, working on building Ash's business and starting a family together. Good read.

No blisters!, hiker in high heels, earthquake & tsunami, baby poop, sesame seed tiny, 4th & 5th thoughts, sausage & peas

This is short, sweet, and cute. There's no angst and is witty humorous. The mountains and lake scenery are gorgeous and picturesque. The plot and story are simple, making this book an especially quick read. Even though it's a bear shifter and human pairing, Ash and Theo are suited for each other. It's enjoyable and recommended.

ARC review.
For me thos was 3.5 stars.
A little bumpy ride to happiness.
Theo and Ash is a sweet, short read, mpreg story. They have chemistry, but Theo is running scared when finding out that Ash is not so human as he expected. It's quite funny when city dwellers, like Theo, wants to explore wilderness and things don't go according to plan. I liked all their lovely moments together and especially the end of the book. Can absolutely be read as a stand alone even if it's part of a series.

Wrong Turn, Right Bear is quick, cute, and a little bit wild. Theo, a human omega, and Ash, a rugged alpha bear shifter, are total opposites but click instantly thanks to that fated-mates magic. The pace is snappy, the chemistry’s strong, and while things mellow out after the pregnancy kicks in, most of the story is pure fun.

This was a wonderful pararomance with delightful characters. Ash and Theo were too adorable when they were near eachother, not that Theo understood why. Dunbar took the story in a bit of a new direction and I was completely on board for it. Yes, it meant extra heartache for both of them but more anticipation for the reader. While I'm not normally in favor of higher angst, this was done so well it didn't bother me at all.

“I don’t know if this is what love is— I’ve never really been in love before— but I want and need you in my life.”

I enjoyed this book. I liked both Ash and Theo. They were cute together. A couple bumps along the way when Theo discovers that Ash isn't human, and leaves. But no worries- Fate brings him right back. Because the heart wants what the heart wants even in unexpected circumstances. 4 stars

This is such a cute and quick fated mates story. A great series. Theo wants to have some adventure in his life so he goes on a vacation at a lake. Ash happens to be the guide of all of the excursions. The attraction is there but Theo doesn’t know about shifters. Ash and Theo’s journey had its obstacles but it was fun and heartwarming. I’m excited for more stories!
