A but frustrating due to some inaccuracies that I think the author should have checked in with, such as dogs and wolves living in packs, there being a human “leader” in the family, etc. I loved that at the back of the book some instructions were included for teaching basic commands to your dog, and I think that is an excellent idea for the age range this group is geared toward. I would have liked to see them forgo suggesting pushing the dogs butt down while luring into a sit, especially because most dogs will lure into a sit easily without physical coercion. And it can be annoying later in life if the dog sits every time pressure is applied to its lower back.

But overall great photos, enjoyable intro to what dog breeds are and can do, and well worded.

This book has been sitting in the reception area at work for who knows how long (I work at a vet clinic). It was slow tonight, so I finally read it. It's simple, as is to be expected from a kiddie book, but enjoyable none the less. Gives basic information aimed at younger readers explaining different canine behaviors and canine training. Great resource for young canine enthusiasts!

A blandly presented batch of dog facts, trivia, and training tips.

My daughter loved dogs so much when she was three, she enjoyed pretty much any book that included them, even this one.
