Attratta dall'uomo sbagliato

Rate this book

Bryn's a serious-minded, straight-forward rule following Deputy District Attorney. Daniel is a successful defense attorney who knows his way around and is popular with the ladies. Not only are they opposite in personality traits, they're on opposite sides of the courtroom. Each time they meet, sparks fly. Opposites attract -- or so the saying goes. Will attraction lead to a final verdict of happily-ever-after for these two?

I'm putting this in my kindle freebies clear out folder.
I downloaded a LOT of free books back when I first got my kindle and feel obliged to read some of them now and then.
I can see why they're all free.
Nothing original in terms of storyline and very cookie cutter stereotypical characters. A great read for someone who doesn't want to think but I need something much more.
No thanks.

This was another very short story, a novella. And even so, it had all the things I want in a short story. The lead up to combustion was great. The characters had depth and I found myself rooting for them.

Daniel has barely acknowledged Bryn for two years. She's a tough prosecutor with personal reasons for wanting to see the guilty put away. He is a caring man who wants a fair trial for the accused.

Once Daniel really sees Bryn, he wants to know about her, but she's not going to just fall into his arms, even though she thinks that might be a very nice place to be. He definitely has to work for a chance to have a relationship with her.

This read very real, not forced at all. The foreshadowed combustion was worth the wait. I would have liked to have seen just a bit more at the end, as it felt pretty tidy, but it was a very nice way to spend a couple hours.

4.5 Bookmarks, rounded to FIVE for Goodreads.

I saw this short novella on the Kindle Store for free and so I thought I would give it a try. This was a really very short novella, the author described the characters very well which helped to add depth to the book as you felt like you knew them more. I think that this would also have worked as a long length novel as I feel there are many ways that the author could have taken the storyline and the characters. It is a great book to read if you have some spare time I would definately recommend giving it a try

VERY SHORT READ, CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT WAS HO-HUM COULD HAVE BEEN BETTER. SINCE THE BOOK WAS SO SHORT I GUESS THAT WOULD BE THE BEST THAT COULD BE DONE. I SORT OF DISLIKED THE MAIN FEMALE BRYN SHE HAD SOME ISSUES, SHE GOT BETTER NEAR THE END. I LIKED THE MALE DANIEL HE WAS A BIT UNBELIEVABLE IN HIS QUEST FOR BRYN, BUT I SUPPOSE THATS WHAT LOVE IS ALL ABOUT (YOU CAN GET KINDA CRAZY). HOT AND STEAMY IN ONE PART SINCE IT WAS A SHORT BOOK. I ENJOYED THE BOOK. I WISH IT HAD BEEN A LITTLE LONGER. THE TITLE OF THIS BOOK HAD CHANGED HERE ON GOODREADS I GOT FROM AMAZON UNDER "WILD FOR MR. WRONG", BUT IT'S THE SAME BOOK.

Unremarkable romance. Not sure the title really fits this because the female lead didn't seem to be all that "wild for him," until it was time for them to sex it up. I love how sex makes everything better-- wait, no, I don't like that.

Proesecutor Bryn, shouldn't be attracted to defence attorney Daniel. She can't separate what he does for a living and entertain a lasting relationship with him, despite their sexual tension..

Bryn: "What do you call what you've been doing for the past week? Stalking me in court. Staring at me. Coming up to me all the time."

Daniel: "Well, gee, I don't know. If you have to ask, maybe I'm not doing it right,"

Bryn: "Doing what right?"

Daniel: "Courting you?"

I thought the characters worked really well and had a bit more depth than the title suggests. This was a short read but I found it entertaining, so much so I read another of Virna's books straight after.

Diferente

I found this book as a free ebook on Kindle, so I decided to check out this author. This story didn't do it for me, but I liked the writing style enough that I'm still reading more by this author. The story is about two lawyers on opposite sides. They've worked on and off against each other for years. Bryn's been attracted to Daniel for a while but won't act on anything because of his profession. Daniel didn't even take notice of Bryn until he overhears her talking about how he's a player. Then the idea's been planted in his head, he can't believe he missed out beautiful she is, etc. He asks her out, manipulates their mutual friend into arranging a date and still gets turned down by Bryn. Bad things happen and Bryn decides she really does care about Daniel. She goes to his house to comfort him, which turns into sex and then they decide they can work out their problems because they're meant to be together.

I felt there was a lot of telling instead of showing with this novel. Being only 83 pages, some of that is to be expected, but it felt like we didn't get to see any of Daniel and Bryn actually getting to know each other. From the time Bryn turns him down, there are a few pages afterwards of us being told that they occasionally talk in the halls and/or think about each other. Then tragedy strikes and now they know they can work things out - forgiving themselves and each other for their misconceptions and live happily ever after. I didn't feel invested in their relationship mostly because we don't actually see them having a relationship.

Inhalt

Don’t be fooled! Virna DePaul is a wicked, teasing woman! This book is pure agony, why? Well because it ended far too soon. OK I knew it was short when I bought it, but let’s face it, some books are way too long after the first few pages. Not this book though, this book is way too short based on just how good, attention grabbing, sexy and full of raw feelings it is. I love Daniel Mays and Bryn Donovan, heck I even like their friends, Tamara Logan and Vance. So much more could be added, in fact I think Virna should give us more!!! It captivated me from the beginning. I was in fact expecting a short, light, straight forward romance, but it was deep, I could see a movie in my head… Come on, please give me more, I like these guys, there is a lot to them and so much more to explore.

How Virna manages to build such amazing characters in such a complex context on so few pages amazes me, well not really amazes because I know just what an incredible writer she is, so to be fair, it’s to be expected! This book is really “L’Entrée” and I’m ready for “Le Plat Principal”.

I GUARANTEE everyone will enjoy this delicious, short love affair both with the characters and the author and last but not least if you have the audio version, the narrator Ellen Lange. She did an amazing job, I really enjoyed her excellent portrayal of the characters both male and female.

Well done on all counts, the writing and the narration. This is definitely a book I will read/listen to again!

This story was one of the stories featured in the He's Irresistible compilation that I had secured via Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.

I have to admit that This was my least favorite of the three stories yet that does not mean I did not enjoy it. Perhaps due to its short length I felt that it lacked some character development. I do however feel that there was great potential particularly with Bryn. She obviously had some issues from her past that required some attention and this could have been explored further. Daniel on the other hand was perfect as the male in these types of stories usually are.

This book was steamy. There was sexual chemistry between the characters from the get go and the reader was not left disappointed when they finally succumbed to their attraction. I only wish I could have spent longer within the story. I will admit that this read got me through a workout on the treadmill in one session.

While this read will not go down as one of my all time favorites it was a nice interlude nonetheless.

This was an intriguing novella about a prosecuting attorney, Bryn, who has avoided a fellow attorney, Daniel because he's charming and attractive (and therefore distracting) and because he's a public defender - whose job it is to help accused "criminals" be found innocent. The latter is the unforgivable thing. Daniel suddenly realizes that Bryn is hot and pursues her but gets the cold shoulder every time...and yet he's managing to charm her still. When Daniel's job comes back to bite him in the ass, Bryn is there for him, the only one who can understand. I like Bryn's very interesting reasons for avoiding Daniel - this story brought to light a very interesting perspective about public defenders. It isn't the usual reasons for pushing a guy away that's for sure. At first I thought there was no way she'd get over it, but the author handled it well. I rather wish there'd been a bit more time for them to be together and get to know each other before "getting together" but not much time for that in a novella.

Virna DePaul's sexy story was great! A prosecutor and a defense attorney certainly don't seem like they could ever be a match, and Bryn and Daniel were a whole lot of fun to watch. Bryn is determined to not get involved with Daniel, Daniel is determined to do whatever it takes to make Bryn his. And when circumstances force Bryn to face some issues from her past, helping Daniel may be just what she needs to move forward. I really enjoyed this one - right down to the dirty talking defense attorney who plays hard in the court room and the bed room.

This book started off really good with nice strong reasons for their feelings. After a major event personalities made an about face and became unrecognizable. Disappointing! If they stayed true to their personalities the angst would have played out in a much better story if the author wrote it right!!!

A prosecutor and defense attorney face off in court and out. He wants her but she has some baggage that is hard to let go. She fights her attraction to him until he finally wears her down.

The only reason I didn't give 5 stars was at 80% the book ended. I was thinking there was more to read but I was disappointed. The rest was excerpts of other books.

Still a great story. Sexual tension and a pretty hot sex scene.
