This is a drastically underrated series and this particular story is one of my favorites. They actually manage to make the Steampunk themes work without having to dumb anything down...not that this is a super cerebral story!
How rare is it that we get to see a truly feminine yet not cheesecake female protagonist in a comic? Navis is at once strong willed, empathetic, vulnerable and fun in a way that you wouldn't think would be that hard to reproduce ad nauseum. Leave it to the French to innovate in comic books!

Takakansi lupaa kolmannessa Sillagessa Steampunkia, mutta pikemminkin tarjolla on toisen maailmansodan kaltaista propagandaa ja vastarintaliikehdintää.
Paketti pysyy huomattavasti paremmin kasassa kuin edellisessä osassa, mutta ei kuitenkaan onnistu olemaan juuri sitä mielenkiintoisempi.
Edelleen upeasti piirrettyä ja värimaailma on tarinaan hienosti sopiva, mutta jotenkin kuitenkin jää vähän sellainen... meh... fiilis.
Annan vielä seuraavalle albumille mahdollisuuden ja jos se ei tarjoile parempaa, niin tämä sarja saattaa olla miulle sitten siinä.

Una trama de intriga y acción con giro final interesante y que abre muchas posibilidades. Me gustan especialmente el diseño estilo steampunk del planeta en el que transcurre la acción.

This is my favorite volume so far. It has a steampunk aesthetic which is a nice change. I like how each episode of Wake is wildly different and self-contained. Buchet’s art is once again great, with tons of detailed designs and concepts.
The setup has a simple hook: Wake has discovered an unexpectedly advanced civilization on a primitive planet. There is a secret installation of particular interest. Also, the new dominant species appears similar to humans. Navis, eager to learn anything about her origins, is sent to investigate.
She dons a living camouflage and travels through a warp gate to reach the planet. These gates connect Wake to any planet the convoy has previously visited.
Next, we are introduced to the planet and its inhabitants. It’s a planet of perpetual winter whose architecture and technology resemble 19th century France. We meet a band of revolutionaries and a despotic government. After a protest is brutally suppressed, the rebels resort to terrorism, attacking a government train. Most of them die but the leader is rescued by Navis. The two storylines (Navis and Clement) intersect with clean efficiency.

Navis tells Clement about the secret installation, and he agrees to help her find it, believing his brother might be held prisoner there.
They are spotted by soldiers but escape via jumping into a bone-grinding machine.
They contact the father of a fallen rebel, and he agrees to smuggle them out of the city. They disguise themselves as workers in a ranching operation.
They train with snow scooters and rifles. They run into the native population of goat creatures (who have the same facial markings as the humanoids), relegated to slums. Navis sympathizes with them but Clement thinks they’re scum.
In a short interlude, we see the high-peer visit the secret facility for a meeting with an old human slumbering in a high-tech cryo-chamber.
Navis discovers the ranchers massacring yaks and is enraged. She leads the yaks to safety and flees the ranchers with Clement.
They go in search of the facility, but Princhard, the leader of the ranchers, hunts them down. (An ally turned enemy) They manage to defeat him with dynamite.
The benevolent, pacifist goat people help them recover and point them towards the facility.
They battle a giant robot and defeat it with a native plant (set up in the previous scene).
Once inside the facility, they discover a spaceship under construction, but are soon spotted. Navis is captured, but Clement escapes.
We then get major revelations, shown through a recorded message intended for the amnesiac architect of the facility. A human geneticist, crashed on the planet millennia ago. The sole survivor of a French expedition into space. He used his skills to create a hybrid race from himself and the goats, and has guided their development of advanced technology, in the hope that they would one day build a spaceship that would allow him to escape. Every 50 years, he revives from cryo sleep to instruct them. The ruling class, including Clement’s brother, know all this and are on board with the plan.
Navis is brought to the geneticist, but before she can learn anything Clement assasinates him. Clement’s brother refuses to leave and stays behind with the high-peer when the facility blows up.
Navis and Clement escape. Navis returns to space and is depressed because she lost the chance to meet another human. Clement assumes control of the ice planet, but without the geneticist’s vaccines, the hybrids gradually begin to degenerate into goat men and there is mass unrest, mirroring the opening scenes. Clement, however, accepts his downfall, as he has seen firsthand that violence doesn’t accomplish anything.

J'adore la science-fiction autant que la BD, pourtant je suis longtemps passé à côté de Sillage. Petit à petit, je répare cette lacune et j'avoue que ce n'est pas sans me déplaire. Voici donc le tome 3 de cette fresque intersidérale qui voit la petite Nävis, jeunne terrienne abandonnée sur une planète sans connaître ses congénères recueillie par Sillage. Un vaste empire guidant les planètes primitives vers la civilisation.
Pourtant, tout n'est pas si rose, et certaines fois, Nävis découvre des choses qui ne lui plaisent pas. Quand on l'envoie sur TRI-JJ 768, c'est pour démêler un mystère : comment cette planète primitive a pu se hisser à un haut niveau de technologie en très peu de temps tout en faisant surgir de nulle part une race très proche des Terriens.
Cette particularité intrigue Nävis et elle arrive en pleine révolution. Naturellement, elle prend le parti des insurgés, mais ce qu'elle va découvrir ne va vraiment pas lui plaire !
L'histoire est bien menée, le graphisme d'une rare élégance et les couleurs fantastiques. Une vraie merveille !

La meilleure intrigue de la série à date. Un vrai mystère bien construit, des enjeux clairs et une résolution assez originale. On passe encore à travers quelques séquences un peu bébé-lala et deux-trois dessins gratuits des petits seins de Navïs, mais on s’en que la série mature. On reste quand même avec l’impression que les auteurs ont sauté un grand bout de leur épopée; Navïs est déjà très bien installée dans le Sillage, mais on a jamais vu comment ça s’est fait… Biz, c’est comme si ils préparaient un spin-of pour nous raconter tout ça…

Mais quand le convoi interstellaire repasse � proximit� de ce monde, tout y a chang� en un temps record, une civilisation est n�e, et a atteint l'�ge industriel ! De quoi intriguer Sillage... et plus encore N�vis, car les habitants de TRI-JJ 68 ressemblent �trangement � cette race dont elle est � ce jour la seule repr�sentante : les �tres humains.

La jeune Navïs est envoyée sur une planète pour où l'évolution s'est produite plus rapidement que prévu. Elle doit essayer de comprendre pourquoi et doit aussi trouver ce que produit une usine secrète.
L'histoire se passe dans une ambiance très XIXe siècle mélangé avec un modernisme du XXe siècle. L'histoire est intéressante et est agrémentée de scènes d'action très bien dessinées. Sans tout casser, la série de Sillage est vraiment divertissante.

Ilmeisesti olen vain huono. Isäni todella pitää Sillagesta ja mikäli www.kvaak.fi:hin on uskominen, tämä kolmas Sillage on parasta sitten edellisen parhauden.
Mielestäni tämä on vain tylsää hapuilua paikasta toiseen ylipirteän pikkutytön kanssa.

Kun toinen kirja jätti vähän ristiriitaiset fiilikset, niin tämä onneksi nostatti taas kiinnostusta sarjaa kohtaan. Tarina kehittyi mielenkiintoiseen suuntaan. Huomaan aina innostuvani, kun mukana on vähän geenimanipulointia. Nyt lähinnä harmittaa, etten samantien lainannut koko sarjaa vain kotiin.

Waouw, je croyais avoir lu les 4 premiers Tomes de Sillage, enfait, je n'en avais lu que les 2 premiers... Dans ce 3° tome, l'histoire fait encore un changement de direction, et j'ai adoré l'ambiance proposée... Les auteurs ne cessent de me surprendre !
