Before being Hayden's mate, before he became one of the Queen's best captains, Jasper's life was simple and the thought of joining the guard is the last thing on his mind. When his quiet life is turned upside down, he knows what he has to do and he'll need his adopted brother's help to do it. Jasper and Luke strike out to find those who have wronged their family, a decision that will turn them into the men they are today.

This was a free ebook that I found on Smashwords.com
I enjoy shapeshifter novels especially when they are not always wolf or centered around a wolf pack. This short story is one that I would recommend to those who enjoy the supernatural shapeshifter genre. It speaks of family bonds; loyalty, unconditional support and a families love that moves beyond traditions and outer appearances. I hope this story is continued in later books.
Since you've all read about the loss of Jasper's family in The Chosen One Trilogy, I thought it would be interesting to see what actually happened that horrible day.
