Born and raised along the beautiful LaHave River in Lunenburg County, Nova Scotia, Lonnie Donaldson spent his childhood exploring the outdoors and forming lifelong friendships in a tight-knit community. A family loss changed his course, bringing him to Halifax to continue his education, a move that would shape both his personal life and his future career.
In Halifax, Lonnie discovered two great the woman who would become his wife, and the world of construction and design. That path led him into architecture, a profession where creativity meets engineering and dreams become real spaces. After earning his credentials with the Nova Scotia Association of Architects, Lonnie co-founded a firm that grew into a thriving practice with projects across Nova Scotia and around the globe.
Among his achievements, one project stands out, a major stadium in Halifax that his firm won through a competitive design process. But triumph turned turbulent when the project became entangled in a lengthy construction dispute… and a shocking attempted murder that rattled the very foundation of his professional world.
Today, Lonnie brings his decades of first-hand experience, the wins, the setbacks, and the unbelievable twists, to the page, helping future homeowners and dream builders navigate their own journeys with eyes wide open.
