Betrayed Blood

Rate this book
I had one stake first, ask questions never.

It’s what made me one of the Covenant Academy’s top hunters. No supernatural dweller walks free, especially not my new the murderous alpha vampire, Noah Brighton.

He’s cocky, way too sure of himself, and needs to die. And if I don’t kill him, I’ll lose everything I've worked for.

I’ve got this in the bag, or so I think…

Until my mission takes a fatal turn, and it’s Noah who saves me.

Now I’ve woken with a thirst I can’t control, and my enemy claiming I’m his.

I’d sooner drive a stake through Noah's heart than ever trust him—and I will. But when we descend into the darkest parts of New York in search of my killer, he unravels a truth that shatters everything I’ve ever known.

Now I’m questioning who my real enemies are, and if I don’t turn to Noah to survive, I’ll die. Or worse…

Received as an ARC for an honest review. This book blew me away. Blaire and Noah's banter is so great. Their back and forth is cute and sexy. I love how protective Noah's is especially after the betrayal Blaire went through. He's determined to prove that she is worth fighting for and never gives up on her. Blaire, still reeling from the betrayal that got her killed, finds herself drawn to Noah and when she finds out all things about him and his past starts to trust him. This ends on a cliff hanger but I can't wait to see what happens next. This book is definitely worth the read!

I've been wanted to read this one since I heard about it. I mean the cover gave me all the vibes I could ever want and so I hoped that the story inside would do the same.

And let me just say that Leah delivered!

It was the perfect mix of enemies to lovers and touch her and die. Noah was such an amazing MMC. I loved the banter between him and Blaire, but most of all just how he took care of her. Not just physically, but mentally and emotionally too. Telling Blaire that she was enough and didn't need to earn love definitely healed places in my heart.

Blaire was a tough kick butt vampire assassin and I loved seeing her be vulnerable and face her past. Seeing her change in more ways than one and accept love and her new found family was everything.

This book had action, mystery, suspense, banter, tension, friends, family...just all that I love.

If you are looking for an urban paranormal romance with vampires, werewolves, mages, assassins, hunters and so much more definitely give this book a go!

Be warned it does end on a cliffhanger but don't let that keep you from reading because I need fellow readers to count down to book two with me!

Also! This is a vampire romance so there will be talk about blood 😉 just know it's definitely there.

SHUT UP (and Read This Book)

“They have no idea how much they lost when they gave you up.”

SHUT. UP.

This was my first-ever Copeland book. I picked it up after seeing it recommended by an Instagrammer I follow. I decided to give it a try—and I am so glad I did.

I am a certified sucker for fated mates (pun 100% intended). I love stories where two people just get each other, where the connection is immediate and undeniable.

That said, Blaire and Noah do not start off lovey-dovey. In fact, it’s honestly a miracle they don’t kill each other in the first half of the book. As they’re forced to interact, and as more secrets come to light, a fragile, tentative trust begins to form. Watching that trust develop (and shatter!) was one of my favorite parts of the story. I loved both characters: their histories, the way they clash, the way they fight, and ultimately, the way they love.

The plot kept me hooked the entire time. I was making bold predictions, feeling smug when I was right, and being delightfully humbled when I was wrong. The twists kept coming, but I never felt lost, just highly entertained. I already have so many theories on what’s to come!

And the characters? Main characters, side characters, random characters—I am attached to all of them. I would defend some of these guys with my life. (Or happily end some lives - if you know, you know).

Bottom line: sweet romance, solid swoon, great plot, and characters I already miss. I will absolutely be reading more Copeland. Ready for book 2!

Other Favorite Lines:
-“What can I say? I know how to use my body as a weapon.”
-“They’d try to kill me?” … “Over my ashes.”
-“I swear I will let the whole world burn before I let you go with them.”
-“Beauty before beauty.” … “I see someone forgot their dose of humility this morning.”

Content: Kissing (some making out but nothing explicit), some blood and gore (DUH..), no language

Everything she knew was a lie

The FMC is on the verge of a major promotion alongside her boyfriend and best friend when they're sent on a mission to eliminate the Alpha vampire believed to be behind a string of attacks. Sounds simple... until the mission goes horribly wrong.
From there, everything she thought she knew begins to unravel. Betrayal cuts deep, grief changes her, and she's forced to question not only who she can trust but who she really is.
The MMC falls first, falls hard, and has major burn the world for her energy. His devotion, protectiveness, and unwavering loyalty made every scene between them even better.
If you're looking for enemies-to-lovers, hidden truths, supernatural politics, a hero who's completely gone for the FMC, and a strong female lead then Betrayed Blood is definitely worth the read.

One of the things I absolutely love is finding a new author/book that fits right in the sweet spot of my favorite genre. And, yes, this is definitely that. I was immediately invested in the story from the first page, and that’s always a sign that I’ll love the book, and it happened with this one. Blaire was such a dependent soul at the beginning, wanting the approval of her dad so much. As the book and story unravel, we find out just how wrong she’s been about her life and her mission from the beginning. This is a very intriguing book, and I can’t wait to find out what happens next in this captivating series. Highly recommend. I was provided a complimentary copy which I voluntarily reviewed.

The chokehold this book had on me was unreal! I was completely obsessed.
I loved the twists and turns as this story followed a born hunter, Blair, and a vampire Alpha, Noah.
The suspense of figuring out what is right and who to trust had me gripped. I was absolutely rooting for Noah from the very beginning. He was protective but so understanding. I truly loved that he was willing to let Blair make her own choices even if he didn’t agree; he just wanted her to see the truth so she can find her own identy.

I can’t wait for book 2!!

Another fantastic read from Leah Copeland! Her first books opened me up to another genre I had never tried before and Betrayed Blood continues to keep me wanting more!
Betrayed Blood is a great page turner with vampires, enemies-to-lovers, secrets and lies, and other cliff-hanging moments. I couldn't put it down until I was finished! If you love the supernatural love stories, you will love this book!

A captivating closed-door romantasy filled with tension, intrigue, and emotional pull. The slow-burn romance was perfectly balanced with the plot, making it easy to stay invested in both the characters and the unfolding story.

That said, readers beware—this book ends on a major cliffhanger. The kind that leaves you staring at the last page in shock and immediately searching for book two… which isn’t out yet. A warning would have been appreciated!

This book has all the elements I’ve been looking for ever since reading KM Shea’s vampire and vampire slayer series. Mates. Touch her and die. Vampire. Vampire slayer. Found family. I loved it. I’m excited to see their relationship develop more.

I have liked this author's work in the past, and was looking forward to this book, the first in a new series.

The premise was interesting! There's plenty of little plot twists and drama, and I love the whole vampire with a vampire hunter thing.

I am excited to see where book two takes us, after that cliffhanger! I love a good cliffhanger, and I'm definitely intrigued by this one.

Great start to the series!

I really enjoyed this book! I’m not a super fan of cliffhangers, so that’s really the only reason I have for it not being 5 stars.

bad guys!?

Lots of assumptions changed. The plot thickens and danger looms closer.
A fun, fast paced, clean read. Good vs bad with tons of grey.
