Wow, My favourite out of all 3 of North's books.

Into was captivating but became a bit of a long winded failed diary, but Highlights of my Last Regret is really intriguing. You can emphasize with issues that the Characters have, and although you want to cringe at some of the stories and say, just get it f***ing over with, its something most people have experienced with relationships that are not quite right.

And the ending - wow! Typical of North that you don't see where the ending will be, but in exit it catches you by surprise and stuns you at the same time. So much so that I had to re-read the last chapter to make sure I was in the right place.

Great book and I'm really loving following North's writing.

Didn't hit quite as close to home as Into? for obvious reasons, but my reaction is similar: I wouldn't believe these kinds of people existed if I hadn't lived in LA for going on 13 years. And, it's worth holding this up against my own life just to see what lines up that I ought to change.
