I am irrationally angry about this book. It started off so good, and I was really enjoying it… until they actually met. It took half the book for them to meet up, and instead of happiness and love, we got a whole lot of poor communication, stubbornness, and misplaced anger.
There was no romance or relationship building, just occasional moments of lust and then more fighting and pushing away. Luca was the only one who seemed to be decent, and he legit didn’t interact with Aries for more than a moment until at least 80% of the way through the book.
The side plot line with the Crows was annoying and stupid. I felt like things worked out way too easily with the dad and them being able to stay in Widows Peak, and I’m baffled how none of them considered Alessio being the mole. Also, for a town where Syrus the sheriff checks out every newcomer, how were all these random men (especially alphas) able to just waltz in, go to the gym, and do recon so easily? That didn’t make any sense to me.
Lastly, I really disliked the final chapter being from Nikolai’s POV. That was our only group / heat scene, and we just watched it from the outside since Nikolai wasn’t even part of it. Plus, it diminished the moment of Ronan and Aries bonding. I love Nikolai and feel like he kind of got a raw deal once he was reunited with Aries, but I don’t think that was the right choice for closing out the book.
I loved the first two books in this series and have been pretty let down by Aries and Lark, but I’ll try again with the next one to see if it comes back!

This was not my favorite installment to the series and not my favorite book by Jarica James. I felt like it was not long enough to really flesh out the relationships between Aries and her men. Also Aries came off as wishy washy with her feelings and too stubborn for her own good. I still liked it and will continue on with the series.

Aries is book four book In the Beware Of The Widows Series, which is a multi-author, interconnected series. It is a dark, contemporary, second chance, why choose, omegaverse romance. The story is told in first person with multiple POV.
Aries entire life has been one huge hellscape. The only bright spot in her life was the memory of her alpha, Nikolai. While she heals from the trauma of her past in the town that her and her friends founded to help traumatized omegas and betas, she finds her scent matched beta, Leon. But what happens when her alpha, who has been looking for her for over a decade, finally finds her? Will she accept him and his pack? Or will she reject them and have her HEA with her beta?
Aries is a strong FMC, that I absolutely loved. The relationship between her and Leon was so sweet. The trauma and healing aspect of the story was heartbreaking and emotional. The connection that Aries and Nikolai had, that stood the test of time, was amazing. Nikolai and his pack's, Ronan and Luca's, persistence and determination in finding Aries was truly heartwarming. The chemistry and spice between them all was sizzling, and the relationship development was fabulously done. The accomplishments by Aries and her friends, the sanctuary that they established, was amazing and I loved how protective the guys were with Aries and the town.
This was such a terrific omegaverse read. The writing, pace, plot, and flow of the story were amazing, as were the characters, storytelling, storyline, and world building.
If you are looking for a great omegaverse read with trauma and healing vibes, and a HEA, then I'd definitely recommend this book.

I have loved every book in this series and this one flowed so easily for me. I haven’t read too many books by Jarica but if you’ve love omegaverse, she certainly knows what she is doing and keeps the story moving in the right direction.
I’m such a sucker for a second chance along with there being a beta in the pack. I loved Leon; especially when he started to come out of his shell. He’s so adorable and man, when he meets the alpha, he does not hold back. Right before the alphas come, they just had the cutest date on my opinion.
Nikolai and Aries were just perfect. The fact that they knew each other when they were younger and that she got abducted made the story more interesting especially the fact that for years, Nikolai searched for her. He knew without a doubt that she was out there and he wasn’t done searching for her.
When Nikolai and Aries see each other again, Nikolai can’t hold back.
I love that these alphas have done so many wrong things, they are protective when it comes to omegas. For a moment, I was worried when these three got a certain call.
I loved the ending when Aries just show what a bada** she truly is. I’m also glad that her mother got the karma she truly got.
I can’t wait to read the next book in this amazing series because each book keeps you on your toes.

ARIES
Is it me or did this story feel rushed?? Especially the ending, it felt incomplete. Other than that I loved the pack that came together even though Leon kind of got on my nerves. I’m loving this series and can’t wait to read the next book.

Aries was an alright FMC. The date with Leon was just amazing and my favorite part of the book honestly, the rest was just meh.
I really hated the pacing of this book. The first 1/3 of the book was the past, mostly Nik and Aries. Then around halfway mark, the present and past collide and then it goes on hyperdrive to the end.
I also HATED how Nik and Aries bonded. It honestly was horrible. He went in to rut and went insane and then they had a cringe worthy wake up moment that was just awful. I also hated “present day Nik”, he came across as angry, insecure, insanely possessive and just rude. “Past Nik” was kind, patient, couldn’t stop looking for her. The author tried to make it out has his “trauma/grief” shaped him but it was just really disappointing. It really made the bonding even more disappointing since the beginning of the book set it up for some super sweet 2nd chance trope and it was just shit all over.
Leon was my favorite. He was so patient, kind and just supported Aries. Honestly the best part of the book.
Luca- who the hell even was he? He had hardly any time with Aries, hardly any POV chapter so their relationship felt super inauthentic and forced. She was “his omega because it’s my packs omega” mentality. He even mentioned that in the years he was searching for her. He didn’t take her out on dates or try to get to know her, then bam! They bond in a dressing room stall and have sex for the first time…yikes.
Ronan- he was also weird. He acted totally different in other people’s POV chapter than when you read his POV. I honestly kept getting so confused. I also hated how he had sex with Aries for the first time. Seriously? Breaking in thru her bedroom window was the best idea to gain back her trust and edge her until she says they can move back in? It was gross

The book started out great. I was really invested. Like this was going to be a high 4 or 5 star book for the vibes and i was going to run to see if I can buy a copy for my shelves as soon as i could.
And then the characters met up.
It was like some awful combination of (the reader) being in an situation where you literally have no idea what is happened and are so overwhelmed that you cannot decipher what is happening around you so you are confused and delirious combined with the fact the characters in this book got dumped in a blender and it was turned on high resulting a new blend of characters.
Like seriously.
What the hell happened?
It was going great and then everything changed. It was like the characters became someone else entirely, time jumped inconveniently, and relationships hit the fast forward button and we jumped straight to bonding. We didn't even get to have instalike or instalove we just move straight to the end.
Every single characters changed. They acted differently than we had come to know. Tough ass characters became whiny. And supposedly traumatized individuals went from nice and sweet but traumatized to outright hostile and nasty. It gave me the impression of someone who was lying and manipulating a person then broke character to chase someone off. It gave me the ick. Another guy tripped and landed in the sleeze pool and was gross to his obvious packmate and has a creepy stalker like moment where he uses sex to get his way with the fmc. And the other guy just kind of fell off the face of the earth even though he was there the whole time.
We time jumped them getting to know each other so it is impossible to speak of their relationships because they dont exist.
The bad guy was obvious before we even knew how he was going to make an appearance. The whole climax was really stupid and such a waste of time. Plus looking at the obvious build towards it makes me like the world building/story telling less. Some please tell me how

4.25 stars! Another great installment of the Beware of the Widows series! With Aries, as with all the other women we have met, we have a very strong, independent woman with a traumatic history. For Aries, one of her paths to healing was to get stronger and help others get stronger and more able to protect and save themselves. She is the owner of the Widows Peak gym, and provides classes to any and everyone in town with the primary goal of self defense, and strength. But Aries’ story gives us a little something different, where she had an Alpha before she was sold and tr@fficked, and that Alpha never gave up looking for her, even when he thought she was děâd.
This one is very interesting. That second chance aspect actually is quite the slow burn. We get Nikolai’s desperate search in one POV, while for Aries, she struggles with how long it’s been and if she were to seek him out would he have moved on, and she doesn’t think she could handle that - so she’s done nothing. Meanwhile, Nik has found a pack, with two other Alphas who become as committed to his search for their omega as he is, while Aries meets a beta in Widows Peak who becomes the a fresh start for her as well. Circumstances, of course, pull them all together, and it is not as smooth of sailing as you might anticipate on their reunion. While they have their history, so much time has passed, and who they have become definitely plays a role in how they come back together.

A dark RH omegaverse.
This book tells the story of a young couple who are suddenly and unfairly torn apart.
Instead of finally being able to move forward together, they have to fight to find each other again. When they finally reunite, everything has changed except for the powerful bond that first brought them together.
But now it’s no longer just the two of them — after so much time apart, life has brought a few blessings along the way, and they’re very well deserved.
In this RH, we have very different MMCs: a survivor Beta and three Alpha MMCs — the fighter, the brain, and the boss.
Our Alpha MMCs are the right kind of wrong. Even though they’re morally gray, they have strong values and don’t hesitate to get their hands dirty to uphold them.
We also have a fierce Omega FMC whose life has never been easy — she has faced a great deal of cruelty and injustice from a very young age.
She decided she would never allow herself to feel helpless again and worked toward that goal, while also becoming someone who could offer strength and support to others in need.
I’d consider this book a medium burn — you have to keep in mind that they’ve been through a lot — but once things start heating up, it becomes wonderfully steamy.
The book gives us an ending “this is only the beginning”, but one of the wonderful things about this series is that, in the following books, we could get glimpses of the HEA of our MCs.

I have been wanting to read this series since I first saw it. I love all of the contributing authors.
When you love the Omegaverse world being written about and add in some of your favorite authors you just know that you are in for one of the best series they can put out there.
I won a copy of this book for the release day giveaway and when I started reading it, I was instantly hooked. I could not put this book down.
I wanted to know what happened with Nik and Aries and how they were literally torn apart from one another.
I can understand how Aries and her trauma kept her from looking for him and going back to where all of her trauma started. Nik never gave up and never looked elsewhere. He was utterly devoted to Aries.
I loved how when Leon entered the picture Aries was completely honest and told him she had an Alpha and that she knew they were still a scent match, but she was too scared to open the file her fellow Widow compiled on Nik.
When everything heats up and Aries proves that she has overcome all of her trauma and didn't let it win and showed her new alpha's and Nik's brother and packmate she is a worthy omega it just made it all the sweeter.
This book was sweet, sad, and filled with bada** omega and beta that you are hooked and don't realize how far into the book you are until you are at the final chapter and realize you want more and there are no more chapters of the book to read.

Book four in the Beware of the Widows shared world series gives us Aries’s story and while it’s still dark, it’s definitely the least dark of the series so far.
This story explores lost love, second chances, trauma bonding, found family, and learning how to live and love again after everything falls apart. It starts at a slower pace, taking time to establish character history, backstories, and the reconnection between everyone, but it really pays off once everything comes together.
It also felt a little different structurally, as we spend quite a bit of time exploring Nikolai’s story before shifting back into Aries’s POV. But honestly, I enjoyed getting that extra depth.
And Aries? I loved her. She may be timid and anxious, but she’s also an absolute badass when it counts. The girl can seriously kick ass.
I also loved the pack dynamic. The banter, chemistry, and connection between everyone was so good, and the spice was perfection 🔥 I honestly would have loved even more of their pack life together or an epilogue because I wasn’t ready to leave them yet.
Such a great addition to this amazing series, and I can’t wait to see what comes next.

Aries is the fourth book in the Beware of the Widows series and follows Aries and the Crows.
When she designated as an omega, Aries was beaten by her mother and then taken before her alpha could spirit her away. Twelve years later, she has built a life training omegas and betas in Widow's Peak in self defense. She is determined that she and those she trains will be able to defend themselves if anything happens. Nik has spent twelve years using every connection and resource to look for Aries. When he and his pack get a lead about Widow's Peak and one of the founders named Aries, they rush to her. But twelve years is a long time and Aries has just started to move on with Leon, a beta new to the town. All five of them have to navigate their new pack dynamics while also dealing with a threat to the town and their pack.
I really liked Aries character and Nikolai searching for her for twelve years was absolutely heartbreaking. I loved how he immediately planned to take her from her mother after she designated. The pack dynamics were a little difficult since Aries had never met Ronan or Luca even though they had been determined to find her for years to help Nikolai. That combined with the fact that she had just started moving on with Leon definitely added tension between them. There were definitely some parts that were questionable and seemed inconsistent with the protocols established in previous books (specifically with every newcomer to town being checked out). The pack did eventually settle, but it seemed a bit forced to end on a happy note. I still enjoyed the story and will keep reading the series though. I'm excited to read about Luna and Briar!

All five of them have to navigate their new pack dynamics while also dealing with a threat to the town and their pack.
I really liked Aries character and Nikolai searching for her for twelve years was absolutely heartbreaking. I loved how he immediately planned to take her from her mother after she designated. The pack dynamics were a little difficult since Aries had never met Ronan or Luca even though they had been determined to find her for years to help Nikolai. That combined with the fact that she had just started moving on with Leon definitely added tension between them. There were definitely some parts that were questionable and seemed inconsistent with the protocols established in previous books (specifically with every newcomer to town being checked out). The pack did eventually settle, but it seemed a bit forced to end on a happy note. I still enjoyed the story and will keep reading the series though. I'm excited to read about Luna and Briar!

This one lands solidly in 4-star territory for me.
There’s something quietly comforting about returning to Widows Peak, like stepping into a well-built sanctuary where you already know the layout and the emotional stakes. The premise had all the ingredients I usually devour, protective dynamics, healing from past trauma, complicated bonds, and that pull of fate threading everything together.
That said, this story just… didn’t quite spark for me the way I expected. Nothing was wrong, but nothing fully grabbed hold either. The romance simmered more than it sizzled, and while the emotional beats were there, they didn’t hit as deeply as I wanted them to. It felt like watching a storm gather that never quite breaks.
I did really enjoy the dynamic between the characters, especially the foundation of trust between her and Emmett. That friendship to more thread had a lot of heart, and the addition of Aiden and Sloane brought in some intriguing tension and softness. I just wish those connections had been pushed a little further emotionally.
Even though this one didn’t hit as hard as others in the series, I’m still fully ready for whatever comes next. Jarica James is an auto-read author for me, and her worlds always have a way of pulling me back in, even when a particular installment doesn’t completely click.

This book needed more
I have been enjoying this series and Jerica is a new to me author. Unfortunately for me this story was probably an 3.75 rating.
I loved Nikokai and Aries bond when they were younger. He was so good to her and their life would have been hard but beautiful. Unfortunately it didn't work out that way. Him ending up with the crows kind of weird but it was okay.
I absolutely understood the quick bonding once they were reunited but unfortunately there was not much relationship building in this story. There was confusion, miscommunication, and sudden bonding but with nothing to build on.
How in the world would did an unknown b alpha get into Widows Peak because that has never been possible before and no one brought that up. From the time these men showed up till the end of this book felt rushed. I also think the last guy got a pity bonding because it was barely spotlighted.
I am left with a lot of questions about how this is going to work and how the father was just like yeah sure move to Colorado I don't care. At least Lark's men made their situation v work for them this one just waved a magic wand so everything was suddenly fine.

Perfect, until Rushed
I absolutely devoured the first 54% of this book. The feelings it provoked had me in tears and reading well into the night just so I can see the reunion. The reunion was so perfect! 😍 I couldn’t stop smiling and reading! It’s what happened after the reunion that I almost DNFd this book.

After a heart wrenching start, an explosive reunion, it turned cold. 🥶 like the Alpha did absolutely nothing wrong. Didn’t force anything and after spending the entire first half of the book missing her alpha, she wanted nothing to do with him and kept yelling at him to leave. Excuse me? Was not enough
Don't get me wrong... I love this series and so far the first three books have had me hooked and that's because I felt like they had so much more to them but Aries felt rushed. I don't want to give away spoilers but when the Alphas upset her and her beta, she was a boss B and was ready to make them beg and grovel but she didn't, she rolled over and let one of the alphas (the brat) get what he wanted and that was the end of it. The groveling didn't last one minute...
Then the main event, you work out who the enemy is straight away as it was made obvious but they made it was quick, the lead up, then rescue and her taking down the bad guy. Then the gym scenes, I wanted her pack to see her in action teaching and leading and see how strong she is and what she had created in Widow Peak. It's a got a good storyline and plot but it was rushed and makes me wonder about the last two females in the widow group. I felt like Lexi, Silva and Lark where always going to be the main characters and have more in depth plots and storylines then the other women. I hope they last two books get more

Tortured by her mother and ripped away from her scent matched alpha on the cusp of her designation awakening, Aries has long felt vulnerable and helpless. Determined to be her own savior, she channels her anger and fear into learning to defend herself; she then channels that knowledge into teaching others the same.
Fates align and just as she finds a new scent match, her past shakes the foundation of her future. It is a story of second chances and new beginnings. And I had a really good time watching this brave and confident omega putting the men in her life through their paces.
I do wish this had been a bit longer, as the brevity diminished the emotional impact. I wanted to dive a bit deeper into the Crows and the fledgling bond that grows with their omega. Amazing Read
I love this series as a whole so far. The first two books give you a good idea of the relationships between the women individually and as a group. Aries is always the one everyone comes to to learn to protect themselves and it is one of those really nice niche parts of their group. I like that while Silva has Lexi as her best friends, Lark has Luna as her best friend and Aries is tighter with Briar.
Aries struggle is one many women know all too well. Trafficked, missing their past, being forced to grow and wondering what happened to those they used to know. Nilolai's struggle is also one many people know when their loved ones are kidnapped and they pray the cops or authority have information or that they find them. Their story together is one many people know, manipulative parents who get away with abuse, wanting a better life for each other, plans to leave at legal age and never come back, only for circumstances to change on a whim.
This book was great. I look forward to Luna and Briar wrapping up the series well ❤️

Aries owns a gym in Widows Peak and helps omegas and betas learn defensive moves in order to feel safe again. She’s a bada** in her own right. The way she takes Ronan’s brother down…pure perfection!
Nikolai was Aries best friend growing up and once her designation hit, he was her alpha and then she was ripped away from him. Nikolai is extremely possessive of Aries, once Nikolai finds her after twelve years apart.
Ronan is Nikolai’s half-brother and brings him into the Crows. Basically,
they’re morally grey men who take down bad guys. He’s blunt and to the point.
Luca is a computer genius and Ronan’s best friend, and just as deadly as Ronan and Nikolai.

I do feel like the ending was extremely rushed, especially Aries upcoming heat and her heat itself.

RH Omegaverse Romance
This didn’t quite hit the mark for me.
The first half was so good then Nik and Aries are reunited….. and I just felt so bad for him. ( yes she didn’t meet Ronan and Luca until like 50%) She needed space? And she was mad that Nik didn’t want her out of his sight? Ugh like he’s been looking for the past 12 years for her 😫
Leon was skittish, scared and traumatized and within 2 weeks he was growly and protective with not an ounce fear towards the new alphas. So just a bit odd.
Then to make it worse the guys leave….with no explanation 😑(not even for a day) when they’re back it doesn’t take much for her to forgive them.
THEN it skips the 2 weeks when they get to know each other 🤦🏻♀️🤦🏻♀️ That’s what I was really missing…. Then it speeds to the end.
It would have been much better if it was longer and we got to see each of their relationships develop.

Non posso dire che questo libro non mi sia piaciuto, ma nemmeno che mi sia piaciuto. Semplicemente non ho avuto abbastanza tempo di affezionarmi ai personaggi.
Per buona metà del libro i personaggi sono separati. Ci viene presentata Aries da giovane con Nikolai, Aries diventata una widow, il background di Nikolai e un accenno di Ronan e Luca e ci viene introdotto Leon. Quindi rimangano poco meno di 150 pagine per la parte fondamentale della storia: il gruppo che si forma e il problema da risolvere. Nonostante tutta la cura e l'attenzione ai dettagli dell'inizio della storia la parte finale risulta quindi troppo veloce. Non si fa in tempo a chiudere una questione che si salta alla successiva, senza che per nessuna la chiusura sia soddisfacente.
Il fatto che Aries non abbia cercato Nikolai in 10 anni non l'ho trovato così strano (e stupido) come il comportamento che ha avuto una volta rivisto il suo alpha. Creano il legame ma poi dice che non si fida di lui. Sbatte, giustamente, fuori casa gli alpha ma non appena Ronan la tenta apre le gambe per lui e lo perdona. Coerenza zero.
Così come non ha senso il comportamento di Leon che un attimo prima è un beta insicuro e timorato di dio e quello dopo affronta 3 alpha grandi e grossi.

So this story starts out before Aries is k!dn@pped and becomes part of the Widows of widow Peak.
Her story in the beginnig made me want to cry. What she goes through is just so sad and tramatizing. I felt like she was delt one of the worst life with a mother that was trash.
Her bestfriend and Alpha Nikolai was just a good Alpha who wanted to help her escape. While he is trying to get them a place she is at work when she is k!dn@pped right behind her work.
Nik went through so much to try and find her and never gave up. Met his half-brother and became pack with him and his packmate.
more foward and Aries now runs a defince place and meets Leon, who also has been through he!!. I absolutally love Leon and I am glad Aries and Nik reunite.

Another winner for this series of standalones. Another great author, adding to this great storyline about a group of omegas that fought back and continue to stand tall and fierce.
Aries is one of the Widow Peak omegas. She runs the gym and teaches others to be able to defend themselves if needed. And she's nervous about what happened to her alpha. It's been years and she's not sure if he's moved on or if she's ready to let anyone in. It's a good thing that Leon, a beta, needs her and gets her to open up. And it's a good thing Nik never gave up on her. He's going to find her and bring his pack with him.
I liked getting another one of the omega's story. Aries has been mentioned in some of the other books and I was happy to finally get her story. And I loved another set of alphas, along with a sweet beta, that would do whatever they have to protect and love their omega!
