This is book nine of the Dragon Rules series and the main characters are Emily Liu, who doesn’t realise she is actually a druid, and dragon shifter Logan Rule, who never thought he would find a fated mate, but awoke to join their leader and the other dragons who have awoken from their long sleeps. Emily works as a high-end thief for her uncle Ming, who barely sees her as part of his family due to her late mother’s marriage into Ming’s family line, calling her a halfling and has her working off her late father’s debt. It seems like she will never be free from him and the bad treatment she gets from him and the rest of the family. She is only useful to him as a thief, working on ever more dangerous scores for him! She is almost caught stealing a necklace and ends up shot trying to escape and as she does so, she hears a voice in her head commenting she is hurt and asking who hurt her! This is one of two distinct voices she has been hearing for a while, having no idea where they have come from. She thinks she is having a fantasy which is more real due to the pain she is in. The other voice scares her and gives her nightmares! The kind voice tells her to not to engage with the nightmare voice, telling her it is likely to be one of the darks, who hunt her kind. She manages to pass the stolen necklace to her cousin, but he grabs her on the shoulder she was shot in, making her almost pass out. She has to get to another shop to be patched up, but that will only happen if she can make it that far.

The kind voice in her head is Logan, a dragon, who thought at first, he was just dreaming about the woman he was connected with. This telepathic communication should mean there is a strong fated bond between them, but the second voice she is hearing makes him start to doubt things. He decides to speak to their leader Legion and ask his advice. He suggests he take Siro and look for her, and also to allow them both more time in the city to learn human ways. Emily’s uncle wants an urgent meeting and insists she carry out another job immediately, even though she is injured. This is an almost impossible job, one he had already sent his trusted right-hand man on, who was killed trying. Since he agreed to the job, he refuses to break his word and didn’t do the proper research on the item to be stolen, nor who she was to steal from. All of which are vitally important to know! If she doesn’t carry out the job, then the penalty form her uncle will be death. Something she is currently thinking might be the easiest option! The nightmare voice returns as she gets home, telling her to go with the person he has sent for her, or he will crush her mind! Thankfully Logan and Siro arrive just as the other dragon’s sidekick was about to hurt Emily and have a taste of her, against his own orders. The sidekick is one of the dark’s, who will never gain a fated mate and must prey on the innocent for their blood, to gain power. Their leader is unknown and seemingly powerful, hunting down druids for the magic within their blood, but Legion’s Rule clan will never join them.

Logan’s mother had been a rare druid with the power of transmutation, able to change her form into a small golden dragon and fly with his father. His parents were lost in the dragon war, where all the adults died and shortly after he also lost his twin brother, Lothos, when their home burned down. Emily has unknowingly been using some of the same magic to change her features to avoid capture during a job, not even accepting that what she could do was magic! Her uncle Ming wants her to steal a large pearl from an office owned by a dragon who looks like Logan. There are more magical wards hiding things from Emily, but Logan insisted on going on this job with her, and Siro also came with them. They have been led into a trap and the dark dragon wants to take Emily from Logan, to deprive him of his fated mate. The jewel Emily has come to steal is the last pearl Logan’s mother produced, and it was supposed to be for Logan. But something happens when Emily touches it, and it seems to disappear. The dark leader doesn’t want a fated mate, just a druid he can tie to his life and feed from, whilst his followers can use any other druids as the cattle, he thinks they are. Emily hasn’t managed to get the item her uncle ordered her to, the last job which was to wipe her debt to him. Now she worries that Logan and the others at their cabin will be in danger, but Logan tells her he will pay off her uncle and make sure she has a clean slate. Her powers come into effect at midnight on her birthday, as they do for all druids, just in time for her to escape an attack on the cabin.

Meeting Legion and the other dragons, as well as fated mates, Emily begins to learn more about what beign a druid means and wonders wat her own powers will be. The goddess Adara, who can’t actually sense Emily’s druid side, has an important and dangerous role for her to play. If Emily cannot succeed, then the world will be doomed as a great evil that cannot be controlled, will be released by this dark dragon leader. Only Emily’s powers can keep this being imprisoned, but it will take a huge payment from her. Her powers, like his mother’s, they had hoped would be taught to all the druids and the dragons to have the same power. Logan and Emily survive their numerous battles and can finally be bonded as Logan had always dreamt of, to have a slightly different future than he hoped, or maybe not! A few good twists at the end and justice for the Rule clan and Emily. A great series to read, learning about each dragon and their fated mate, as well as what happened in the past. Certainly best to read in order, but still great as a standalone read. I received an ARC copy of this book from BookSprout, and I have freely given my own opinion of the book above.

I’ve been addicted to this series since the first book’s blurb about dragons reawakening. The fact that the women who become the dragon’s love interest are druids that have unique magic to them, just added the icing to the cake. This time around, the book is about Logan. He is still getting used to being awake and some of the Druid women are still nervy around him. We meet Emily, of Chinese descent who is a thief. A rather amazing one at that. But, the fact that she is part non-Chinese makes the rest of her mafia like Chinese family hate her. She never knew just how much until everything that happens in this book. This fact made me both angry and wanting to hug her. The things that her Uncle, the leader of the family sent her after were already stolen, so she did her work. Honestly, how she lived the way she did impressed me immensely. To me, she is an inspiration and a total kick butt woman. Things go total batdoo crazy immediately. As with all of the dragons of the Rule clan, Logan can shift into human form and what a form it is. All of them are yum. lol. He dreams of Emily and sees things happening and talks to her. So he and Siro, another recently awakened, goes to help Emily. Total MAYHEM! OMG. I fell in love with Emily, Logan and Siro. I can’t wait for Siro’s book. This book made me laugh, cry, lol. Squee, need the AC on for the steamy romantic factor. As well as for the freaking out, chewing on my nails and having my stomach roiling as things hit the fan and by the end of the book, I almost hyperventilating in fear. I have a funny feeling that the next few books, I’m going to need tissues and stuffed animal to hug. Egads. I seriously need those books asap.

When he met her mother and she became pregnant he left the thieving side. Then when hermother passed he started her training. NOw she works for her uncle.She has been hearing voices in her head and believes she is making it up. On a job she gets injured.
Logan has recently awakend after many years in sleep. He wakes because he has a dream of a woman who steals and is injured. He calls his clan leader to tell him. He and another dragon are sent to find her. She is a mage and is his mate.
She really doesn't understand what is going on when Logan shows up. Although she was in danger from a dark dragon. Logan saves her.
They sit for tea and talk about their lives. Then Emily's uncle calls with a job. If she does this one job he will release her from her debt and the family. But Logan doesn't want her to go because it is at a building owned by a dark dragon. To his surprise when he goes with her he finds that it's his twin brother who he thought dead. Now his job to protect his mate is made very difficult because he needs to protect from him and that may be hard. Will he be able to do what he needs to to protect his mate? Will Emily do that one final job to be free?
A fascinating story!!.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book, I haven’t read any of the other books in the series, but this book really jumped out at me and held my attention from the very first page to the very last. Logan is a dragon shifter who had recently awoken from a long sleep. His dragon had felt the stirrings of his fated mate. Emily is a thief, but she is far more than what she is led to believe, she has been hearing voices for a little while and thought that she was going crazy, but she said that it is the voice of her mate, who only wants to protect her, and to show her what she is capable of, and his twin brother who is a dark dragon and has set out to control her. This was a fantastic story full of action and drama and a slow lead up to the heated moment between Emily and her mate Logan. I love this book so much that I’m going to go back and read the previous books in the series.

Emily has been stealing items for her uncle since her father died and he owed a lot of money to his brother so now it is Emily to pay it off. One of her heist she was shot but she changed her face so the guard couldn’t find her then got her shoulder taken care of. Logan had seen what had happened through her eyes so went looking for her. He could talk to her telepathy but so could his twin Lothos who was thought to be dead. Emily was a half blood and her family didn’t like that and made her life miserable. Logan told Emily what she was but she wasn’t sure went to do one last job and then will be free. Lothos is the one that wanted a pearl found it was a trap for Emily but Logan went with her and found his twin had gone to the dark side. The pearl dissolved into her body and then helped take down Lothos and save the world from a disaster.

Logan is the ninth story in the Dragon Rules series. This book follows the story of Emily and Logan whom I found to be quite interesting and intriguing at the same time. The characters are well developed and fabulously executed throughout the story. This book is amazingly written, well balanced and beautifully executed by Tia Didmon. Tia Didmon continues to prove what a brilliant paranormal romance author she is with each book that I have read by her so far. She is becoming one of my many favorite paranormal romance authors to read. I absolutely enjoyed reading this book from start to finish. I absolutely enjoy that Logan and Emily have a happy ending to their amazing story. This book is most definitely one that I would encourage other readers to checkout and give it a read. I can’t wait to see what else Tia Didmon will create for her next book.

This is the first book I have read in the series, though it would have been nice to know about more of the characters, it didn't affect the understanding of the story. Emily is a thief by training and necessity. What is left of her family considers her defective because she is of mixed parentage and her father died deeply in debt to the family. When she starts hearing a voice in her head she ignores it because it is not a nice being talking to her. She's not sure why she is hearing someone talk into her mind. Then, a different voice speaks to her and this one is worth talking back to.

I loved the story. Emily is unique and very rare for a druid. Someone the dragons didn't think they would ever have. I loved that Logan's mother had the same unique gift and perhaps saw in the future what was to come. That she prepared a "gift" for her. I loved learning about her troubled past. And the way her "family " treated her after her father died was heartbreaking.
Of course there was conflicts , betrayal and a good dose of mystery wrapped into the romance.
Logan was trying to acclimate into the modern world, including having to wear clothes.
The twists were excellent, eventual steam to the romance. Logan like all of the other dragons stuck to their vow.
The perfect HEA for them and the rest of the clan.

Logan is a purple dragon shifter, just awakening from a long sleep. He hears Emily and is drawn to her, she hears his voice in her head. Logan feels her pain when she is shot escaping after a job. Emily and Logan are delightful together, they will face attacks from dangerous enemies, Emily’s family wants her dead, dark dragons attack and a monster must be defeated. Fascinating, spellbinding stories will a beautiful happy ending. Great reading, I love this series and can’t wait for next book.

Logan and Emily’s story is much more than a paranormal romance. It shows us how the world can be brutal to those whose families don’t love and respect them. Emily’s only fault was she wasn’t born full Chinese, but to them it meant she wasn’t unworthy of their love. Logan’s brother Lothos threw everything away out of jealousy. Fate brings them together and gives them and the other Druids and dragons good for their futures. Great storyline and characters but it needs better editing. 4✨’s and I can’t wait for the next book in the series.

Highly entertaining read. Another dragon and druid have found their mate. Logan is awake and learned his mate is also talking to another dragon. He has to find out if she is really his. Emily is a cat burglar who is working off a family debt. Only thing is her Uncle has other plans. Some hard lessons are learned and you find out who your true family is. I love this series. Entertaining storyline that captures your attention. Highly recommend.

This is Logan’s and Emily’s story. Emily was born into a family of thieves and because she was a half breed the family did not respect her. She was tied to the family because of her father’s debts. Logan finds her and helps her but he cannot understand why she hears a dark in her head as well as him. There is a surprise for him and her and I have to say I loved the ending of this book. This was well worth waiting for. I would recommend reading the whole series.
