Marriage was the solution to their problems. Falling in love was never part of the contract.
When Greek billionaire Konstantin Christakis learns the only way to reclaim his family’s stolen island is through marriage, he makes a calculated decision:
Marry Kayla Athanasiou. Father an heir. Secure his legacy.
With a fiancée waiting in the wings, his marriage to Kayla is meant to be temporary — a mere transaction.
But one taste of his unexpected bride leaves him craving more than their agreement allows.
As secrets unravel and loyalties are tested, Konstantin must choose between the family duty that has defined him... and the woman who just might redefine him.
Kayla Athanasiou agreed to a marriage of convenience for one reason: to protect her sister from the same fate.
After the humiliation of her first marriage, she vowed never to give her heart away again.
Konstantin’s cold, controlled demeanor should have made that easy.
But beneath his icy exterior, she glimpses tenderness — moments only she gets to see.
With their time running out and feelings she never expected taking root, Kayla must decide: Will she keep the promises she made to protect herself... Or risk everything for a love she never thought she'd find?
Perfect for fans of slow-burn billionaire romance with family secrets, forbidden longing, and high emotional stakes.
When Niomie Roland isn't dreaming up sexy heroes and feisty heroines, she can be found in her kitchen cooking a concoction for her husband (that she won't eat herself), shopping online or watching YouTube videos.
This was awesome. Enjoyed every single word. These Brothers are the real deal. Looking forward to reading Book 3.👏🏽 Be sure to grab the series and enjoy ☺️
I enjoyed getting to know Kayla and Kosta. Both bound to a sense of loyalty and family that influenced how they navigated through the natural pull of one another.
Both allowed themselves to be vulnerable enough to allow the other to enter into their protective bubble. I appreciated Kosta honest efforts to repair the damage caused by his compliance to his cousin and family. There was no malicious intentions when he hurt Kayla.
The journey back to one another was sweet and touching.
I very much disliked Michail, Kayla and Simone’s father. His actions towards his daughters were not genuine but rather self serving. And when he discovered his second in command was his son his dismissal of his daughters was infuriating to read.
I could feel the deep betrayal of Simone. I am guessing the breadcrumbs of Simone and Matthias relationship will provide its own story soon. If so, please do not allow neither Michail and Matt to be easily forgiven.

Kayla & Konstantin! *ARC Review* Slightly Married is an arranged marriage trope with many twists that had me unable to put this book down! I love a strong and confident FMC and that’s exactly how Kayla is written. She suffered heartbreak in her past and is determined not to allow it again. Konstantin is the business first family loyal MMC that tries to keep everything transactional but can’t deny his attraction. Slightly Married is generous with spice and my goodness it’s off the charts. I definitely recommend this book it’s well written and of course has an antagonist that you will never forget and the artwork throughout the book is so beautiful.
I received this book as an ARC. Every time I read book by Niomie Roland, I think “this is my favorite one.” Then I go read the next book just for it to top that one. 😆 This book was no exception. I absolutely loved Kayla & Konstantin’s journey to love. Marriage of convenience is one of my favorite tropes & it was done so well in this book. The passion & chemistry between Kayla & Kostas was soooo freaking good! 🔥🔥🔥😍 There was nothing I didn’t love about this book. The character development, the plot, and even the side characters kept me invested. I can’t wait for the next book. 😁 10/10 highly recommend & would read again. 😌
Niomie Roland is a new discovery in my decision to stay away from the collapsing of my country by focusing my energy on my newfound love of interracial romances. Her writing is so detailed and compelling that I’ve enjoyed every book so far either the Christakis family. Konstantin and Kayla’s relationship evolution were just a joy to read and I look forward to sister Simone’s story.
I really enjoyed the story of Kayla and Kostantin. Their journey was filled with misunderstandings, a little drama and excitement before the HEA. The story kept me interested from the beginning. I can’t wait to continue the saga of the Athanasiou and Christakis families.
When I caught glimpses of KaylaAthanasiou and KonstantinChristakis in 'Slightly Reckless' I was immediately intrigued by the breadcrumbs of their potential story and waited anxiously for their story and it doesn't disappoint.
Kayla meets Konstantin when she barges into her father's office to berate him about trying to marry her adopted sister Simone off, so like a good sister, she decides to take her place and Konstantin steps forward to accept her generous sacrifice.
The caveat—he's there to negotiate the return of his family's island that was purchased by Kayla's father many years ago. The Christakis' can have it back but Konstantin must marry his daughter and give him a grandchild. Oh, let me not forget to mention that Konstantin has a fiancee, which complicates things to say the least. Kayla learns of said fiancee after their wedding when the woman practically leaps into Konstatin's arms for a kiss on his private plane in front of Kayla, on her wedding day. Can you say—awkward and inappropriate?!
Soon, Konstantin becomes torn between the past and present. I'll stop here because half the fun of an important journey is finally getting there.
An arranged marriage, a lie, a coverup, the truth to a murder 30years ago and 6months before. A hostile company takeover, grief, anger, jealousy, obsession. Welcome to Book 2 with the feistiest FMC and her logical but lovable MMc. Against the backdrop of Greek islands, and a pregnancy (done the old fashioned way) this takes you through an adventure but at the end you realize it’s about family the ones you choose and the ones you’re born in to.
i've now read a few niomie books hoping that the writing will improve and it really hasn't. it's very tell not show and tell some more. readers are not left to infer anything as everything is laid out so plainly.
fmc in this book annoying as hell and there's no depth to anyone. fmc was rude as hell to service workers too! and nosey as hell. it was just plot beat after plot beat. but they got me cuz i wanna read about matt & simone
Meet and Greek So, I started with this book instead of book one. It definitely made me want to go back and read book one. I want to read all the books in this series. I like when I can feel the energy between the main characters early on. I liked Kayla and K from their first interactions. I enjoyed the OWD. I like the side characters and the snippets of their storylines. The side plot had me changing my mind about who did it each time I met a new character.
This was better than the first book! Konstantin and Kayla are more compatible than the first book's couple and it may be because they are older. It has a beautiful ending. I cannot wait for Book three! I love this series so far!
I couldn't really connect with both main characters, and couldn't believe when they went from indifference to passion or love. But I did enjoyed the drama, so I would probably read Simone's book.
