The siege is over, but the war is far from won. After narrowly defending the Black Witch’s castle from a monstrous assault, Nick Gallows returns home to a city in mourning. But War waits for no one.
A brutal power struggle, a dangerous rescue, and a marriage forged in the heart of conflict push Nick to his limits.
To hide Earth from its enemies, Nick launches a coordinated assault against the dragonkin—but victory will take everything . . . and everyone has something to lose.
When time weighs heavily, it's time to hit the weights in this regression LitRPG/Gamelit story of dungeon-diving, leveling, stats, and facing down the apocalypse!
Another good entry in the series, though might I request a recap at the start of the book because I’m still not 100% positive I’m remembering what happened in the book before this one. Looking forward to next one.
About the same. Good addition to the series but there are the same changes I would make. First, Nick is supposed to be a trainer. He is not supposed to be the strongest, leading the charge. He is supposed to be the one training the others, making them better. Time and time again, Nick finds himself the one all alone facing overwhelming odds to save his friends. The other issue is the training. I would love to hear about magic training, weapons training, aura training. Those all sound pretty cool. What the majority of the training we hear about is him lifting weights. Reading about that doesn't have the same impact as if I was reading about the other forms of training.
Overall, that is what my main gripe with the series so far has been, and I knew that going in so I was pretty much expecting it in this one. Still a pretty good series.
Nick and the rest of the guild have found the stronghold of the Black Witch. They were able to push back the hordes, but that only bought them all time. Nick works to strengthen his guild mates and his own stronghold while planning to hide these rift locations. This will cost a huge coordinated multi strike against the dragonkin. Hopefully, this will not be too costly of a conflict.
This is a fantastic LitRPG regression series! There was a nice break from all the action for a few chapters that I think the characters, as well as we readers, needed. There was excellent character development in this story. Another solid entry to the series! Daniel Wisniewski and Elizabeth Plant did a fantastic job with the narration!
If you like the previous books in the series, you're going to enjoy this one. It's a really solid book. Great plot. Great characterization. Great story. I don't know what else I can tell you without giving the plot away and taking away from your enjoyment of the book in the future. I do highly suggest if you're going to read this one. You read the previous books in the series. You can enjoy this as a stand alone, but you'll get a lot more out of it if you've heard the previous book. I apologize for any spelling errors. I'm writing this review with voice to text
He’s traveled back to the past to prevent the apocalypse but nothing is as it seems. The black witch is real, traitors to humanity have infiltrated all walks of life and if he doesn’t level up the dragons will squash him flat. The penultimate book to this series leaves you with hope but also a deep sense of foreboding
It feels like this story is nearing an end. It has been a fun ride and we have some epic battles left. I’m glad things were able to separate a little from the Black Witch. I like the earth crew more than that stuff. Overall it was another nice entry.
Book 7 has a few errors throughout, but is a fun read. The plot and characters are a bit chaotic this time around. They are trying to prepare and have a few good twists along the way.
