The Godkissed Bride #1

Cheval Blanc et Nuits Sombres (Edition Relié): L'Épouse Bénie des Dieux 1

Rate this book

I have too many practical questions running through my head to be able to fully get into this fantasy 😅 This is probably just me and I don’t think the characters need to address it, but I can’t help wincing every time she gets on that horse. My mind is a ridiculous place 🫠

To begin at the beginning, the FMC has to travel with the king's most trusted guard, for 21 days to meet her new husband. Oh … but she has to be naked (only her hair can cover her) and Oh … she has to ride bareback. She was asked to do this to replicate an ancient story her (soon-to-be) husband was a fan of. The woman in this legend did this to show her devotion to her husband and allowed him to parade her through passing villages to gaze upon. I guess to create envy, but the situation is gross regardless. This man is gross.

So my issue, which keeps ruining this illusion, is the fact that she is naked and riding bareback … for like 10 hours a day …for 21 days. Can you imagine the chafing, the horse hair in places it’s not meant to be and just general hygiene issues? 🫣🫣

Am I overthinking this? Absolutely! Ridiculously! But I can’t get over it. I definitely see her as an empowered character, as this task has been forced onto her and she is keeping her head held high …. but I just keep thinking about the hygiene of it all and the general discomfort she is probably experiencing.

Maybe these aren’t problems in this fantasy world, but my head is in reality and it won’t leave 😩

I was also slightly concerned about the triggers in this one, as she was in an extremely vulnerable state. She does get verbally harassed and things are thrown at her through villages. Later on, an attempted SA occurred, but this was when she was fully clothed. It’s ironic, because I thought once she was clothed the threat would be eliminated, but in reality and in this instance, it shows this is never the case.

I actually really liked the FMC. She was headstrong and blunt, as she could never express emotions like this before. The romance is forbidden, so there is a lot of angst, longing and sexual tension. I personally like a bit of banter with my ‘enemies to lovers’ and I would say there wasn't really any of that. They didn’t joke. Their relationship was more focused on tender moments and him providing protection for her.

Despite my earlier issues, I haven't DNFed. I have just paused at 77%. A plot twist has happened and I don't know if I'm excited for the grovelling/ retribution storyline that will follow. The MMC is grating on me currently, but I definitely want to finish it.

Overall, if you are a normal person (and not a possibly irrational overthinker) you will really enjoy this book!

I didn’t know what to expect when I started this book. I admit that I was mostly drawn in by the cover, but I was pleasantly surprised! White Horse Black Nights has a good pace, and a good equilibrium between action and romance, the characters are well developed and there was even some politics weaved into the story near the end.

After spending the past 12 years in the convent, with the Sisters of Immortal Iyre, Sabine Darrow should be thrilled to be free of them and their abuse at last, but she left them only to be sent to Rian Valvere, her husband-to-be after her father had to sell her to settle his debts. As if that was not enough, her husband decided that to honor the Immortal Solene and her epic journey, Sabine would have to travel to her future husband’s city naked on her horse, as Solene did centuries ago. Wolf Bowborn is Rian’s most trusted guard and huntsman, and he is tasked with accompanying Sabine on her 21-day naked journey.

All the different regions of Astagnon call the deities by different names: Immortals in the capital city of Old Coros. Fae in the northeast. Gods in the south. Whatever name they go by, legend tells us they went to sleep one thousand years ago in underground realms and will wake again to rule the human world.

The world building is what you would expect from a usual YA fantasy, but I liked the magic system. A few lucky people are born with a special mark upon their breastbone, marking them as “godkissed”. Godkissed have a special ability, ranging from superstrength to healing, and everything imaginable in between. Sabine and Wolf are both godkissed, she can speak with animals and he has heightened senses, making him a formidable hunter.

This book mostly happens on the road, but there is a hint of political scheming in the last part of the book when Sabine is delivered to her future husband, and I hope to see more of the Valvere’s scheming in the next book.

And yet there’s another side to her entirely. An angry, determined girl who refuses to be a victim. Who wants to know how to fight against anyone who crosses her, even old women. I want to know how one person can hold so much complexity. How her soul can bear so much rage and yet not break from it. Maybe if I can figure out how she still sees the beauty in life after everything that’s happened to her, I can, too.

Sabine is an interesting main character, she is kind-hearted and sweet, but she is also fierce, and is determined to get her freedom one day, even if that means lying and manipulating. She also has a violent side that comes out whenever she is threatened, and I love that while she gives the impression of being all soft and well-mannered, she does not hesitate to get her hands dirty and fight for what she wants.

I like that the physical closeness between Sabine and Wolf comes slowly, over time, and doesn’t feel forced. It would have been too easy for the author to rush the physical proximity between them, especially since they spent 3 weeks alone, while Sabine was naked, but the author made sure that there was a good reason for them to become closer at first. I also like that although Sabine was attracted to Wolf and knew he was attracted to her, she was also levelheaded enough to know that she needed to use that to her advantage if she wanted to escape.

What annoyed me is that Sabine thinks she knows Wolf so well in such a short time, because of some heartfelt conversations they had. She says she knows him more than he knows himself after spending a little over 2 weeks with him (*eye roll*). It is only a tiny detail in the whole book, but it bugged me.

He’s striking. He’s savage. He’s undeniably gorgeous. And yet all I can think is: They sent a beast for me.

Wolf Bowborn starts the journey full of frustration because he is tasked with accompanying a fancy lady instead of hunting and investigating a mysterious disappearance that happened near where he lives. He quickly realizes that Sabine is far from being the pampered lady he imagined her to be, and she has a way of making his protective and almost sweet side come out.

And every bullheaded man in my life— my father, Lord Rian, and especially Basten— will see how a woman’s defiance can burn brighter than the stars.

The romance between Sabine and Wolf is a forbidden one because Sabine is promised to Wolf’s master and long-time friend. The first half of the book has a nice sexual tension building, and something akin to a hate-to-love romance when it comes to Sabine’s feelings. The second half still has some smut and sexual tension, but it also has some angst, because Wolf realizes that Sabine might be in danger, and only Rian’s might and army would be able to protect her. So he has to make her hate him, so she would stop hoping to escape her marriage and resign herself to a life at Rian’s side. That being said, I still feel that the romance between the two characters was a little rushed in the second half, and I hope it will be better developed in the second book.

Overall, I enjoyed this book, and I am eager to read the sequel when it comes out. I recommend it if you enjoy forbidden romance with a hint of hate to love, characters learning to know each other while traveling in the woods, and a well-done world-building with magic and some politics.

4.5 stars, full Review on my blog!

I'm speechless right now. This was so good, and I'm so sad I was sitting on this book for about a month without reading it til now!

White Horse Black Nights is a captivating romantic fantasy, brimming with action and adorned with exquisite prose. I dove into it without any expectations, it was the cover and title that lured me in; I didn't even read the description. And I'm glad I didn't read it. The story was very fresh and unique in ways. The story was rich with beautiful descriptions, creating a vivid and atmospheric world.

Sabine Darrow, gifted with a godkiss, finds herself betrothed to Lord Rian Valvere after her father's arrangement. Lord Rian, known for his sinful ways, demands an unconventional journey: a twenty-one-day horseback ride across the kingdom, and she must do so unclothed. However, when Wolf Bowborn, Rian's guard, is sent in his stead to retrieve her, Sabine seizes the opportunity to escape and carve her own destiny. Yet, her attempts at escaping are thwarted twice, as Wolf proves to be an exceptional hunter. Sabine shines as a magical and captivating fmc. Gifted with the ability to communicate with animals, her godkiss brought to mind the tale of Sleeping Beauty—especially on the final day of her journey. All the forest creatures come to her aid, clothing her or rather shielding her with their bodies so she is no longer exposed and the people of Lord Rian's Kingdom, Duren, just eat it up, they are thoroughly enchanted by her arrival.

"Is she doing this? Calling the animals? If she is, then her message is pretty fucking clear: If everyone in her life will deny her even the dignity of clothing, then she'll clothe herself with the creatures of the forest. But something tells me she isn't calling them, at least not with words. That the insects and birds are coming on their own, drawn to her pain like moths to flame."

_________________________________
"But I've never experienced anything quite like this. The creatures covering my nakedness have a mind of their own, as though something greater than all of us summoned them. For maybe the first time, it makes me believe in the old stories. That magic threads through everything, not just the few godkissed, whether the fae are sleeping or not. That magic connects us all."

Wolf "Basten", our morally gray MMC, blessed with heightened senses due to his godkiss, is assigned the task of bringing Lady Sabine to Lord Rian. He is engulfed by the intensity of her emotions—her pounding heartbeat, flushed cheeks, and the mixed scent of fear, desire, anger, and determination. Can he safeguard her during this demanding journey? Yes, yes he most certainly can. He possesses a sweet and caring protective nature, yet a tenacious stubbornness. His demeanor strikes a perfect balance for her.

"My heart starts clanging in my chest, and I curse my traitorous body, knowing Wolf can hear every thrust of my heart. What else can he sense about me with his godkiss? Does my sweat smell different when I'm thinking about him? Can he feel my sped-up breath clouding against his skin? His rough palm cups my jaw, gently tilting my head toward his. The move is so bold that I'm left speechless. He's never touched me before, unless it's to bend me to his will. His eyes drop to my lips. There's a look in them I haven't seen before. Dark, glistening, hungry."

The forbidden romance between Sabine and Basten was a tantalizing slow burn and the chemistry/dynamic between them was exceptional. I loved every minute of their romance.

"Can I see a future with him? He stares me down with more heat than comes from the fire. My heart opens like a cracked door, letting in the faintest rays of light. "I-I want this, Basten. I want you. Now-maybe forever. That's the best I can give you."  Maybe. Maybe. Maybe. So many maybes I'm drowning in them. So many maybes I'm terrified. He stills. A strange calm comes over his face, like he's given into a battle he didn't know he was fighting. "Okay.""

I loved the world-building and the whole fae gods' backstory, what unfolds within the storyline; the constant tension throughout the entire book is exceptional. The actions people take in the name of gods, the intriguing concept of the 'godkiss' mark, and the abilities associated with it—all of it is remarkably crafted. The anticipation of Rian's unconventional request for the journey and the detailed background of the heroine make for a gripping read. The hero's blend of grumpiness, gentlemanly demeanor, and wild spirit truly immerses you in the story from the get-go, making it impossible to put down.

The only criticism I have for this is the very long 21-day ride felt... almost too long. maybe could have been condensed? I don't know.

If you like:

❥Spicy forbidden romance
❥ Enemies to lovers
❥Arranged marriage
❥Grumpy/sunshine
❥Forced proximity
❥Fae
❥Godkissed (magic powers)
❥Gods/Goddesses
❥Magical creatures
❥Strong FMC

then you'll definitely love this!

Thank you for the ARC Evie Marceau!

This book had to be written by someone who has never spent much time on a horse or around them. First of all, 21 days riding naked, bareback, with no bridle….youre going to have more issues than just a little chafing on your inner thighs. Galloping for hours and you think the lady bits are going to be fine? Also…..her poor chest.

Second, our MMC is a “beast of a man” named….Wolf. Of freakin course he is. “I hate her” but also two seconds later “id give my life for her” “she smells like violets so I love her” what? Also, in the middle of a brawl he apparently had the time to stop and tie a “lasso” (gag me with that terminology) and then inside a tiny cottage where there are a total of 6 people and a horse was able to throw that rope and catch someone….nah. His inner voice is so juvenile that this whole book felt like a middle school fanfiction trying to be spicy.

TW there is SA on page and then MCs get it on literally the same day. Like calm down what? Which on that note, the MMC can *smell* that the FMC is ✨untouched✨

I noped out of this one.

Nude travelling and insta lust killed this book for me.
Also… « her skin like fresh morning milk » what the hell kind of complishit is that 😭😭😭 I cringed so bad. God I hate milk so much
And then just to top it off - the next sentence was : « her hair is the colour of honey, flowing all the way to her toes » WHY IS IT SO LONG? So her hair is just like… scraping the floor??

The first book I pick up in a week and it’s just not my cup of tea 🙃

Omg you’re a virgin FMC who is tiny compared to the MMC? Should we throw a parade where you are naked on a horse? Should we tell everyone in the kingdom? Should we invite Bella Hadid?

SHOULD WE GIVE EVERYONE THE ICK?!

3.5 - ⭐️⭐️⭐️💫

I want to hear her heartbeat every night when I fall asleep. I want to feel the vibration of her blood as she lies next to me. I want to drown in the scent of blood and violets until there’s nothing in the world but her.

White Horse Black Nights is a NA fantasy romance and the first book in the Godkissed Bride following a simmering forbidden romance inspired by the tales of Lady Godiva and Tristan and Isolde.

A huntsman is tasked with delivering his master's prized betrothed to him, and this journey in particular shall be the greatest test to his loyalty, for the woman who had been locked away in a Goddess's convent is anything but a willing bride and her fiery soul will engulf him if he does not tread carefully.

Not to mention, she must be brought to her soon-to-be-husband under one condition: to honor the gods, she must travel nude on horseback with only her hair covering parts of her body.

I think this book had a lot of promise and STILL does but it mainly fell short when it comes to the romance. The romance felt rushed and the lust between them was prominent (not that it's wrong) but the lust weighs more than the romance on the emotional aspect, it's hard to make "the love between them" feel organic to me. I still don't think they're "that" in love and maybe book 2 will convince me. I'll wait and see but it still doesn't erase the fact that it felt rushed.

One thing that really impresses me about this book is the lore of magic and how it works. Magically gifted characters are known as godkissed and every godkissed have a birthmark which is the only proof that they have magic. Sabine's gift is quite impressive as she's able to speak to animals and I liked how she utilized that gift throughout the book. I'm so excited to see her abilities grow in the next one!

I think I would've given this book a higher rating if the romance wasn't rushed, but I'll definitely be picking up the sequel, especially after that ENDING!

Tropes included:
— Arranged Marriage
— Forbidden Romance (bride x her guard/protector)
— Inspired by Lady Godiva/Tristan and Isolde tale
— FMC speaks to animals
— Grumpy MMC
— Fae and Gods
— Dual POV
— Spice level: 3/5

Content warnings: The Godkissed Bride series is a fantasy romance with sexually explicit scenes, violence, trauma, physical assault, sexual objectification (comments and attempted fondling "not by the love interest"), and adult language.

This book was solid, great MMC, and a great plot. A woman gets bought by her future husband, and sends a bodyguard to assist her in riding butt ass naked to his kingdom in a sort of ‘ritual’ on a horse.

I believe this is supposed to be a Snow White/Lady Godiva retelling.

This book had my attention from chapter one. I will say, the only thing that threw me was how young our FMC is, so a lot of her decisions were naive ones. However, I still really liked her.

This book ended off so shockingly that I need to pick up book 2 immediately!!

2⭐ overall

I received a digital ARC for White Horse Black Nights by Evie Marceau. My honest review is below. Please note, my review does contain spoilers.

Overall, this read was.. fine? The main quest was inspired by the Anglo-Saxon nomblewoman, "Lady Godiva" from the 11th century. The story follows Sabine and Wolf as they make the 21 day journey to her arranged-marriage, soon-to-husband and high lord, Rian. The narrative was overall well- written, and the dual-POV allowed us more in-depth insights to both characters as we follow their journey.

Although the writing style itself was good, there a few glaring areas that, for me, override good writing.

- The banter was witty, the tension was high, but I wouldn't consider this a enemies-to-lovers story until, maybe, the plot change as they near the Kingdom. There is definite dislike, resentment, and potentially lethal decisions Sabine makes in an attempt to escape, but the characters pretty much lay their attraction and desires at each others feet by the 30% marker, and the trust comes very quickly after that.

- Personally, I don't automatically DNF a book if the FMC is a virgin and the love interest is not, but I was a bit flabbergasted that Sabine's first time was naught hours after she was SA'd. Sabine couldn't even have a day to mentally and physically recover?

- On the virginity note: Wolf can apparently smell that Sabine is "untouched"? Like I said, I don't care if the MC is a virgin. My issue, however, is when it becomes a prize or personality trait. It reeks of infantilization and purity culture

- It's a personal pet peeve, but the constant, repetitive nature of FMC being described as tiny compared to MMC, that she has big, huge round eyes, and that the MMC somehow looks more like a god than he did the day before are cliches in books I generally don't care for

I am grateful to have recieved an ARC, but this is not a series I will be continuing in the future.

[Don’t read this review if you liked this book, I’m not judging anyone who liked it but I didn’t and this is me venting, probably too agressively.]

Dnf-ed at 60% because I just couldn’t anymore… “I have to make her hate me” jesus christ please, this “I have to lie to her to protect her” shit is so annoying I actually slapped the book closed. Save yourself and your braincells and don’t read this. Or do, if you like books with:
- zero subtext or nuance
- pages of inner monologue that add nothing and just beat you in the face with obvious facts
- “enemies” who are not really enemies because since page one all the two protagonists do is think how hot the other is
- narration style that is sometimes so pretty and fits into medieval fantasy setting, and other times contains sentences like “Let’s be real—I’m hardly hudband material.” and “I have loved. I have cared for another creature. And it royally fucked me up.”
- fight scenes where the main protagonist stop to think about how horny they are and how the other is hot and completely ignore there are people around them actively trying to kill them

I tried. It was fun, and there were good parts, but I just can’t stand the frankly stupid and unrealistic parts. (Also I threw up a little every time he called her “his little violet”. He has been calling her that since they met. He also can *smell if a woman is a virgin*. I…)

Easily one of my favorite books I’ve read all year!!!

This was insanely good! I opened the book only to be over 100pages in the next time I looked up… I haven’t been that sucked into a story in a long time. I could not stop thinking about it last night and ended up finishing it this morning!

This world has god kissed characters with heightened abilities, reminiscent magic passed down from sleeping gods. Our female main character Sabine, has been locked away at a convent for years before her father sells her to a villainous lord to pay off his debts.

She is god kissed and can communicate with animals. Her new master orders her to honor the gods by traveling to him naked on a white horse as a symbol or purity. The trek is 21 days and she is escorted by an achingly handsome huntsman tasked with getting her from point A to point B safely.

Keeping Sabine safe is his only goal. The huntsman nicknamed ‘Wolf’ never expects to fall for a pretty girl with a fierce heart. He is everything bad this world has to offer- he doesn’t deserve a kind look from her let alone her heart. His duty to his master, his friend comes first.

Their journey is anything but easy. With all manner of people out to get her, the most insidious threat is that of an ancient civilization cut off from the rest of the world. Previously thought to have been taken care of with a barrier. Rumors of sleeping gods awakening and secrets being revealed as they make their way to the Lord’s territory are just the beginning of their problems.

These two characters are absolutely perfect. I adored every moment of this book and cannot wait for more from this author!

Thank you so much for allowing me to read an early copy!

Reading this triggered me to google “Lady Godiva” and I am surprised I have lived this long without ever hearing that story. If I’m honest, I think the naked ride was the least necessary aspect of the story and I personally would have preferred it to be left out. The author does explain the reasoning behind it near the end of the book, but it wasn’t enough to convince me that it was more than an attention grabber.

I can see the parallels to Snow White, but it only borrowed a few key aspects and not the main thread of the story. The author very obviously labeled Wolf as “The Huntsman,” but I felt the title did not really fit his character. I can see how this could be developed further since it looks like they will need to track down these magical beasts that are reawakening. With the addition of Sabine’s powers to speak to and connect with animals, I can see a lot of potential for the rest of the series. I’m personally not really an animal lover, but I can see how this could be developed into a very strong ability that most people would likely underestimate. If she can connect with the beasts and get them on her side, she would be unstoppable.

The only thing I am unclear about is what she would need to accomplish with so much power. At this point in the story I can only see what her personal motivations might be, and if I’m honest, none of those motivations seem overly pressing. I don’t deny that she (and everyone) deserves to be free, but she does not seem to be in any real danger and her life is arguably much better than it was in the convent. Perhaps I am jumping too far ahead, but my assumption is that she will soon have the ability to command these mythical beasts. Generally speaking, I don’t want any one character to have that much power unless they will use it for the greater good.

The romance unfortunately fell pretty flat. It felt very rushed and insta lusty rather than anything that looked like love. I am hoping that maybe they are both Fae and that they are mates because without some cosmic reasoning, I don’t think I will be convinced of their connection. Frankly, even that might not be enough. At this point I could even see Sabine falling for her fiancé. Now that I’ve written it down, I feel certain the author will go there. Authors just can’t seem to help themselves when presented with the prospect of a love triangle. 🙄

Overall this was an enjoyable read and I feel like the rest of the series has a lot of potential. I wish I could give half stars but I think I’ll have to round down on this one.

Okay, so here’s my review:

YES.

That’s it. That’s all.

Evie Marceau, is a queen of queens when it comes to this beautiful world she’s created.

White Horse Black Nights is full of everything that you want out of a good tale. It’s filled with action, tension, humor, etc… and let’s not forget it’s sexy.
“I’d bleed for her. I’d break bones for her. I’d cut my own heart out of my chest if she only asked it of me, and I’d willingly die at her feet, with the still pumping organ in my hands, an offering for this girl, who’s worth rivals the gods.”

Evie wins. I got nothing else.

Evie, the mic drop is yours.

Keep in mind, I don’t even read the fantasy genre.

I am doing a year of reading only women authors because I am so tired of reading women written by men.

Unfortunately, despite the gender of the author, this book gave me such strong male gaze vibes I really couldn’t shake it.

The way the FMC was described made me uncomfortable - her virginity being so alluring, constant descriptions of how small and innocent she is, the way the nearly SA was handled all put me off.

Trigger warning!!!!!: My opinion

The instalove was too much for me. And the way he thought about “claiming her for a prize” when she was asleep???? Insane. Not for me.

This book saved me from the dreaded slump! It was addicting and page turning. I read it in under 24 hours. I loved the FMC Sabine. She is strong, smart, witty, fierce, and just precious. (A little naive, but the girl is just doing her best with what she was given). I especially loved her god touched ability. Our MMC Wolf, he’s such a brute 😂 and possessive, but in the best ways. Even if he was a bit much at times. By a bit, I mean a lot. I still loved him. Listen, “mine” only works with fictional men. I’m really excited to see where book 2 takes us. The plot thickens 😈This could’ve been 5 stars, but there was some modern dialogue that I side eyed, some (personal) word icks used during the spicy scenes, and I kind of wanted the romance to be a tad bit slower. Give me the slowburn!! Other than that, this story was fantastic!!

3.5 stars. Such a binge read! Love the forbidden bodyguard trope and how it entwined with the Lady Godiva and Snow White inspired elements. I'm so interested in the way the plot is unfolding, the world and the magic, and I really like Sabine as an FMC. She's multifaceted, gentle, and clever, a bit naive at times, but in ways that make sense considering her confined and abusive background. She's also fierce and defiant when it counts. Manipulative when she needs to be or when it serves her interests.

Honestly, I would have rated this more highly, but the romance development let it down a little. It happened too fast and focused too much on the lust rather than building the emotional connection in their relationship. The characters said all of the right things, but I couldn't connect the dots between how they started, and how they got to the point where they felt the way they apparently did about each other. Hoping this will build more in the next books, which I will definitely pick up!

'I’d bleed for her. I’d break bones for her. I’d cut my own heart out of my chest if she only asked it of me, and I’d die at her feet with the still-pumping organ in my hands, an offering for this girl whose worth rivals the gods.'

Grumpy-sunshine, touch-her-and-die perfection. Marceau created an addictive forbidden bodyguard romance.

I listened to the audiobook, which was fantastic!

5 STARS

Sabine is godkissed, her power being that she can communicate with animals, untouched and the most beautiful woman across the land. Her father sells her hand in marriage to one of the most ruthless and powerful Lord's in Astagon, so she has to travel to his land with the huntsman. Basten is also godkissed, grumpy, and extremely loyal to his employer. What happens when they're traveling alone together for 21 days with no one to confide in but each other? Where do loyalties lie in the end?

EXCUSE ME, EVIE?? DID YOU PUT CRACK IN THIS BOOK???
I loved everything about this! It made me feel so many different emotions. The world was interesting and the magic was different but simple, which I love. There's an entire underlying story happening under the main one that kept me even more invested while reading.

One of the most refreshing things about this fantasy novel is that we didn't get info dumping/world building at the very beginning. We learn more about the world, the magic system and the kingdoms as the book goes on.

Don't even get me started on the characters. Sabine has been through so much, and her character growth from start to finish was so wonderful to read. Basten was 10/10 chef's kiss. I love a man that will burn the world for her!!!! Don't even get me started on the things that he says.
Amazing. I'm so excited for the next book in the series. This was Evie's first fantasy romance and I loved every second.

This is one of those times when BookTok was right, and I'm happy I followed the lead—White Horse Black Nights was so good! It's a solid 4.5 stars, and the only reason I didn't give it a full 5 is that I keep those for the books that truly move me to the core.

For those who seek a truly morally grey MMC, look no further - Wolf is your man. And Sabine, a character I deeply admire, is strong in her core and will only grow stronger, a testament to her resilience and ability to rise above her past and those who hurt her.

White Horse Black Nights offers a unique blend of dark fantasy, morally grey characters, and intriguing tropes like the bodyguard and one-bed trope. The perfect animal sidekicks and secret pasts add an extra layer of depth to the story. If you're a fan of these elements, this book is a must-read 👌

The ending of White Horse Black Nights left me eagerly anticipating the next installment. I'm excited to see how Wolf and Sabine's story unfolds in the future 🌟

Enemies to Lovers to Enemies - Hell yes!
These weeks transformed an angry, hurt young woman into a force that neither Wolf nor Rian will see coming, and I can't wait to watch her tear them apart.
I literally binged through this book because I just couldn't get enough.
Sabine's development is extraordinary.
She is the Goddess Queen neither deserves.

I love the world building, the magic system and especially her personal "Godkiss". At first I thought how innocently cute this gift was... But I'm just naive, leave me be.

I NEED MORE!

And I need it N-O-W!

But I'm a good little thing sitting here waiting (not so) patiently for the next book to come out!

Thanks for trusting me with an ARC.
I adore your book, Evie.

!!!!!SPOILER!!!!!

Just because I have to write it down:

You're really sure you wanna read it?

I think you should stop here and read the book for yourself...

Okay, here we go:

This beast of a man demanding her to hurt him just to get her hands on him again is an entire kink, I swear.
Rent-free in my head for the rest of my life. Best hate s*x I've ever read.
