The day of Reinhardt’s revenge is finally at hand, though strangely, things seem to fall into place a little too neatly as Wilhelm puts his own meticulously calculated plans into motion. Reinhardt can’t help but suspect that there’s more to this version of Will Cohlonna than she previously realized, and when he finally lets his mask fall, the truth shakes her to her very core. It’s alarming just how deep Wilhelm’s obsession with her runs—or it should be, but what does that matter when she finally has everything she ever dreamed of?
I ended up skimming through 90% of this volume. The subterfuge plot was just too long and poorly done. You could have cut half to 2/3 of it and it would be better paced it just was full of too much unnecessary meandering. Part of that was the author couldn’t seem to be able to decide if they wanted us to be fooled by the subterfuge or let us in on it, so did a sloppy attempt at both which only served to muddy the narrative and piss me off. I normally *love* political subterfuge in my fantasy, but this was so badly done that I stopped trying to even put up with it by the halfway mark. It’s a good thing I knew this was a relatively small arc in the overall story because if this had dragged on longer than a single volume I might have dropped the series.
Wtf?! Was ist hier alles passiert?

OMG what a cliffhanger! I honestly thought this would be the last volume with how the story was wrapping up and the loose ends getting taken care of... But the sudden twist and promise the cliffhanger left ... I'm shocked and tormented! 😫
Why do I have to wait months to find out what happens?!
WHAT!?!? I did not see that ending coming.. and here I was getting all ready to drop this series cause it is getting pretty twisted, but I can't now!!!
The volume acted like the story was wrapping up and then took a slight left turn at the end. I'm honestly not sure how much more I'll keep u with this, especially if what I think happened, happened.
