Alan is mostly gathering an army and helping his friends acquire the necessary levels and talents while slowly getting a person on the beast race kingdom's throne that is on his side. I can't help, but feel conflicted about this series. I like the methodological approach to things and even its world building (the world feels sloppy, but that seems to be by design). Characters are entertaining enough, although Alan is boring. Still, pacing is slow, a bit too slow for my taste for a series with a clear plot and goal and it comes with at times a very deep focus on very minor things such as grinding dungeon bosses for material. The way the villains are depicted don't really help, but I have never been a fan of depicting super smart BBEGs as always being a step ahead of the main characters even when they clearly lost. O well, I am interested enough in the plot and the writing is more than good enough to keep me hooked for now. Nothing new compared to earlier volumes in the series.
