I had to stop reading this book after the third chapter. From there I skimmed. There might be some really good things in here, but when I read “confidence will say to God… ‘the only way I’ll quiet down is if You give me Your three loaves.’” (In relation to how we are to pray based on the parable Luke 11:5-10) I think the author went too far.
I love how it started out, and how throughout the book he emphasizes that because of our relationship with God, we can be bold and ask for things we might not have otherwise — without an understanding of what a true relationship with The Father looks like, we shy away from the asking that He desperately wants from us.
But the author goes a bit too far at times (again, not all through the book, but at times) making it seem like we have to beg, or if we just holler and bother God enough, He will answer. I think that distracted from the heart of what the author was trying to convey.
