In How to Rule Humans – A Feline’s Guide, it’s Lord Whiskerton — elegant and sharp-witted — who reveals the secrets of command. From the moment he sets paw in the human realm, he guides us with humor and wisdom through a world of rules, anecdotes, and reflections on the complex (and delightfully amusing) bond between cats and humans.
A journey suspended between reality and imagination, seen through the eyes and thoughts of one who reigns from the sofa to the rest of the house, turning every glance and purr into a lesson in love and strategy.
An irresistible and original read, perfect for cat lovers and for anyone who wishes to discover how “the smallest of creatures” can teach us to live — and to love.
I took this from my sister thinking it was another one of those humourous cat guides that are so popular. Instead it's a fictional story of cat telling you about his life and a few rules for cats. If you like cats and like to wonder what they're thinking about then you'll probably like this.
Racing In the Rain for cat companions although a lot less tragic and with no spiritual overtones. It's definitely not what I was expecting from the book.
How To Rule Humans is a story of a cat whose life gets flipped and in the process he has to learn how to adapt by coming down from his high throne while at the same time learning how to share, to be a presence and how to compromise.
Scattered throughout are cat rules for ruling, although there is a commandments compilation also at the book out of the more than a hundred.
Although there were definitely some parts of the book that were clear cat, the last third just really didn't feel like it belonged.
The book also had a few misspellings, but the worst error is Molly was mentioned as a temporary niece and then later on as a daughter. Could be both but for the cat to leave out such a momentous event doesn't feel in character for him.
It was decent and interesting to read the rules, but otherwise, it was not a classic to return to.
This was a very funny book. I highly recommend it if you own or love cats. The author really taps into the feeling every cat owner has about their feline companions. The rules share funny stories and humorous takes on feline life. I recommend this book of you need a good laugh.
This is a guide written by a cat for a cat featuring how humans act and do the things they do. Humans can read this book and get a perspective of how cats feel@;$ why they do the things they do. Cute.
I read this book with my Jack cat curled up next to me. It gave me all good feels. It also made me think of my daughter and what we went through when her father left us. we were lucky to have a cat at that time.
I have to rethink what I foolishly believed was my training my cat! A very clever, obviously observed life of a house cat. If you share your life with a cat you will enjoy this book and realize you've been trained by the best.
