When who's your daddy is a multiple choice question...

Paranormal Psychologist Matilda Schmidt is one client away from fa-la-la-la-losing it. Holiday cheer is in the air, gun-toting fruitcakes are in her office, and she's spinning through mood swings fast enough to make her toss her cookies--even without the morning sickness.

When Ol' Kris Kringle goes AWOL after a nervous breakdown, his disgruntled elf is convinced that only Matilda can get him back on his sleigh in time to keep humans from tearing each other apart quicker than couponeers at a Black Friday sale.

But their efforts hit the skids when the men in Matilda's life show up and demand to know which of them is responsible for the bun in her oven: the hot hit man who's likely to stuff her stocking with ammunition, or the delicious demigod who's made Santa's naughty list a couple centuries running.

USA Today bestselling author Cynthia St. Aubin wrote her first play at age eight and made her brothers perform it for the admission price of gum wrappers. A steal, considering she provided the wrappers in advance. Though her early work debuted to mixed reviews, she never quite gave up on the writing thing, even while earning a mostly useless master's degree in art history and taking her turn as a cube monkey in the corporate warren.

Because the voices in her head kept talking to her, and they discourage drinking at work, she started writing instead. When she's not standing in front of the fridge eating cheese, she's hard at work figuring out which mythological, art historical, or paranormal friends to play with next. She lives in Colorado with the love of her life and three surly cats.

Unexpecting by Cynthia St Aubin
The Case Files of Dr. Matilda Schmidt, Paranormal Psychologist series #7. Paranormal romantic comedy.
Matilda Schmidt, paranormal psychiatrist, is having a bad week. Ok, month. Mood swings and tossing her cookies. Not the best feeling in the holiday season.
Her current case, is to find Kris Kringle, who has going missing. Then the two men in her life show up and life will never be the same for Matilda.

A werewolf? Really?
Matilda is pregnant. Which one?
Too many laughs to count. Hilarious series. Totally unhinged, of course. But so entertaining.

The wonderful and funny conclusion to the Dr Matilda Schmidt Story.

Having loved this series from the beginning I was both happy and sad to read this final book but like all the others I devoured it from the very first word to the very last. I read part of it while on the bus and had to try very hard not to laugh out load during certain moments.

The story starts with Matilda find out its true what her mother told her Undeadly - she is pregnant but who is the father. To add to the stress - the blackmailer is back and know she is pregnant and since Matilda doesn't want anyone to know because she is unsure of the father - what will she do. Then her Psychology services are need because Criux has gone a drinking binge with Santa. Will Matilda survive the holidays with everything intact including her mind.

Read the Rainbow Yakking Conclusion to the amazing series.

This was a satisfying ending to the adventures of Matilda Schmidt. As always, there was plenty of laughter. The multi-men life Matilda has been living comes to a head and I greatly enjoyed how it all worked out. Santa was a fun addition to the paranormal crew.

Yeah no

I AM SO UNBELIEVABLY ANGRY. YES IT IS A BOOK. YES IT IS FICTION. BUT HOW DID SHE END UP WITH HIM?! THE MANIPULATOR?! SERIOUSLY?! I GET THE OTHER GUY WAS A 3 LETTER WORD THAT RHYMES WITH NO BUT SERIOUSLY?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?! SHE PICKED WRONG AND YES THAT IS A PETTY REASON TO RATE 3 STARS BUT I FEEL SO STRONGLY AND I AM GENUINELY SO UPSET ABOUT THIS SO YES I AM GIVING IT 3 STARS.

This was a fun conclusion to the series. Matilda finds out she's pregnant but she doesn't know who the father is. In this book we finally find out what started some of the craziness in her life. It was not who I was expecting. This has been a fabulous series. I enjoyed it so much. I loved Matilda's adventures and I can't wait to read more of them.

"Unexpecting" is book seven in "The Case Files of Dr. Matilda Schmidt, Paranormal Psychologist" series by Cynthia St. Aubin. Matilda decides who she wants to be with in this book as she is getting ready for the birth of her child. She also finds out that someone she is close to has been behind some of the things happening. Another great read by Cynthia and the humor is what keeps me coming back for more. I also enjoy that they are short reads with enough going on to have you wanting to read from beginning to the end. I enjoy the characters a lot and will read the next book.

Book #7 in The Case Files of Matilda Schmidt, Paranormal Psychologist Series

As this series comes to an end, I have to say that I am going to miss these characters. I am not going to spoil who Matilda picks in the end, just know that it does make you shed a tear or two. The author did a wonderful job in bringing all the loose ends together and answer all those burning questions we've had since book one. This is always a super high point in a final book. There weren't many if any grammar mistakes which is always amazing, this author has a knack for writing and one awesome editor. Once again the plot of this series and final book were original and definitely worth the time to get into to. I would recommend this book to any and everyone, but not just this one book, but the entire series. We give this book 5 out of 5 stars.

This is the last book of the series and I am really kinda sad about it because I just did not want it to end. I would recommend you read all the books in order to enjoy them more and get an understanding of how far our leading Dr has come and who all the characters are. I have been a fan of Cynthia St Aubin for awhile now and I absolutely loved her Matilda Schmidt, Paranormal Psychologist series. When I read one of her books I know I will be entertained, I will laugh out loud numerous times, fall in love with all of her colorful characters and lets not forget enjoy some steamy romance as well. This book of course is no exception and I read it in one sitting because I just needed to find out how it will all end, I see a nap in my near future. The Author did a wonderful job of wrapping it all up, and who knows maybe her fans can persuade her to write a couple more books further down the line? We just need to start a petition.

Unexpected ending to Unexpecting!

I have loved this series since page one. This last installment is no different. The author packed this book full of emotion that erupts with each turn of the page. As expected, I laughed and then I cried and then I laughed more and finally cried more. I felt like Matilda on a pregnancy induced rollercoaster ride of emotions, but I loved every minute of it!
I am so sad to see this story come to a close. I am, however, looking forward to seeing what this author has in store for us next!

This book is the seventh book in the series. They should be read in order. It’s Christmas time and Dr. Schmidt has recently learned she is pregnant. The question is the father a demi god or hit man. Dr. Schmidt has an elf visit her and request help to bring Santa back in line. He has gone AWOL with Crixus. Dr. Schmidt is coping with learning that her mother wasn’t really crazy she has a gift of sorts and so does Matilda. Matilda is about to go on a crazy Christmas adventure with a surprise ending. I love these books so much. They are funny and crazy. They have me laughing out loud. Great job again Cynthia. I can’t wait to read the next book in the series.

This final book in the series was terrific! It definitely had plenty of unexpected twists and turns, and I also got to reunite with many beloved characters from the previous books. (Love me some Tato Mens!) The ending was bittersweet. I have enjoyed this series from start to finish and am sad to see the end, but it was chock full of enough laughs and craziness to hold me over until I start another series by this uber talented author.

This was the best read! So many emotions and twists! I loved it and though my husband lost my attention for a while I won't complain one bit!

It is funny and witty, just like all the previous books. Santa is off the reservation, partying it up in Vegas with Crixus and with the help of an elf, who I'm pretty sure has a bizarre form of OCD (it's the chimney thing), and hitman Liam, Matilda has to try to get things back how they are supposed to be without letting Crixus or Liam know about her condition. Liam knows something is up but he misreads the symptoms- leading to some pretty entertaining dialogue between him and Matilda. There is also abductions and restraints, interruptions by Liam's crazy family, and some pretty great mishaps (like several feet of snow in Vegas). There is also a hilarious tidbit involving Liam's attempt to go straight--career-wise.

But there is also a more serious note in the wrap up... like the exploration of the nature of the emotions that has developed between the doctor and the men in her life and the decisions that must be made. There is also an all-encompassing explanation in there that tells you how everything is connected. Everything gets wrapped up nice and neat like- there is no cliffhanger here. Cynthia St. Aubin lets you know where everyone's hearts and futures lie. If you want to know the answer to the baby daddy question, the fate of Matilda and the others, and the reason everything happened you'll just have to pick this one up.

Unexpecting
Cynthia St Aubin
Morning sickness, a blackmailer, and the reindeer want a dental plan
I loved the return of so many characters in this final book of the series. I was worried I would cry, but thankfully that was not the case. This final book answered all questions I had from the series, even how the tato mens came to be.
The character development was well excellent and I was able to be pulled into their world and become a part of it. Grammar and word usage have advanced since the start of this series. I am looking forward to the next series from a great author. Well done, Ms St Aubin.

I have so enjoyed this journey, had the time of my life meeting Matilda and all the fun filled madness that went on in her life. This is especially enjoyable because everything comes together with this final but brilliantly written ending. I'll miss all the adventures that come flying, popping, plopping, or bursting into her office, each with their own brand of madness and mayhem. But at the same time I am overjoyed with the outcome, things turn out better than fine for our favorite paranormal psychologist. Your going to have to see for yourself who she picks. Such a sad, bittersweet, emotional, but wonderful ending to a most amazing saga.

Another hilarious read by Cynthia St Aubin and the end of her amazing series. This part starts with our dear Dr. pregnant but who's the baby daddy? While she's trying to figure out how to handle this new development she's called upon to help an Elf find Santa and help him. What happens next has you laughing out loud and meeting up with loved characters from past books. I'm sad that the series has ended but can't wait to read what this author comes up with next. I do recommend reading the series in order and it won't be a hardship to do so!!

What an awesome ending to a magical series. I can not even find words to describe how much I have enjoyed reading these books. Cynthia is not only an amazing author, she is a beautiful person that makes you feel good just by talking to her. From her first book, she become my favorite author. I know this is suppose to be a review about Unexpecting, but I just can't find the words. It was full of surprises and laugh out loud moments, and I couldn't imagine it ending any differently. Thank you Cynthia for blessing all of us with your talent.

Love the snappy sassy Dr Matilda!! I too will think of a thought only to find out I spoken it out loud to my embarrassment. This book made me giggle to the end. And I enjoy these quirky, funny, and out of the ordinary romances. Characters are well developed, and though this book is not the first, there is enough explanation, of the background of the individuals to keep me interested...enough to want to get the others to read more of them. Thanks for the giggles!!Makes the commute to work a bit more enjoyable!!
