In the Garden of Eden, Lilith happens upon a secret too delicious to ignore.
After being banished and outlawed as a daemon for eating forbidden fruit and learning the knowledge of Good and Evil, she spends a hundred years in the mortal realm learning of other gods, goddesses, and sacred deities, finding them far more worthy of devotion. When the time comes to return to Eden and beg God’s forgiveness for her sins, Lilith has strayed too far from a righteous path; she refuses to go back.
When the archangels finally break Lilith, Death offers her a dice game and a deal. Persephone will return Lilith’s soul to her body, tell her the truth about a knot in the thread of Fate, and warn her of a choice she’ll be forced to make—a decision that could secure her true freedom. Lilith would no longer be hunted and forced to endure God’s punishment, allowing her to live out eternity in peace. Being left alone is all she’s ever wanted.
But is she willing to pay the ultimate price for redemption?

✨Arc Read - Release date 31st Oct! TJ Dallas really does know how to weave an in-depth story together..
I fell in love with her Pride & Wrath series' a few years ago, they're the type of books that stay with you.. and not just because of the spice 😂😏.
Lilith's story is the addition all us "Sins" fans have been waiting for!!
TJ's descriptive writing throws us into the beauty that is Eden and Lilith straight out!.... After she's been caught doing something she shouldn't by an egotistical God, who sets out to slander her name and archangels who seem to take great pleasure in inflicting pain, Lilith is banished to the human world where she learns as much knowledge and new skills as she can.
When she's given another chance at redemption, and the chance to be left alone to live her life as she chooses.... It's at a price and is it one she's willing to pay?.
I blitzed my way through this!
I'm super excited to see where this series takes us and already know I'll be grabbing physical copies...
Thanks TJ for giving me an Arc read, it was an absolute pleasure to read it!.
This book is beautiful and dark. I love the world building and character transformation. TJ has a magical way with words, and Eden sounds gorgeous. I mostly loved reading Lilith's healing, transformation, and spiritual journey, I know there is more to come as the series continues because this is just the beginning. We now get a taste of Lilith, and it is as sweet as the Apple that begins her journey.
There seems to be no stopping TJ Dallas. I know I am just one of many who has been waiting impatiently for the release of her new work, and if her novella, Lilith: Book of Genesis is anything to go by, we are in for a wild ride.
As an avid fan, I know the Cardinal Series well, so discovering the juicy details scattered through Lilith was a treat. If you are going in fresh, not having read about Harry, the other sins and the horsewomen, then I think that’s okay as well – just make sure you get to them. These stories are like nothing else out there; Full of drama, history, and of course a lot of sex, this entire series is one you will find yourself revisiting repeatedly.
Lilith: Book of Genesis is Lilith’s origin story and begins to show us why she is who she is, and how her creations came to be. There are moments of laugh out loud humour (‘I thought that was feet,’) but also intense inner turmoil, but along the way, Lilith is forced into a growth and reality she seems more than ready for.
I adored her fall from grace, imagining she is somewhat similar to a petulant teenager bucking the system, but all for good reason. The reality of where she was created, and the expectations placed upon her, are somewhat relatable, even in today’s society.
TJ’s writing is exquisite, knowledgeable, and flows seamlessly, even though the world building is so in depth. Another five stars easily from me.
TJ takes us on an incredible journey of being thrown out of the Garden Of Eden. Eve wasn't the first partner for Adam, Lilith was. She ate the forbidden fruit from the tree of Knowledge. Having grown up with catechism classes (Catholic), I wouldn't be surprised if this book isn't the truth, though I know it's TJ's marvelous imagination! This is a marvelous story of Lilith's beginning ! Definitely A FAVORITE !! More than 5 stars!!
Really liked this prequel series start, Lilith is one of those universally intriguing characters and I love how the author plays with the parameters of good an evil (not just this here). Lilith is fleshed after quite a chunk of mystery in the other series (you can start with this one btw), so that was very satisfying.
Very dramatic ending, just check the CW as needed. Of course I will be continuing with the rest of the books.
Reading the Cardinal-series by TJ Dallas is the perfect example of “came for the spice, stayed for the story”. And when TJ now has written more of the story, where we get to learn more about where it all started, prequels to the events in the Pride- and Wrath-trilogies, of course I am jumping at the chance to read them🍎
We follow Lilith, as she is banished and outlawed from Eden for eating forbidden fruit. We follow her, as she spends her time among the mortals, learning of Good and Evil, learning about other gods, goddesses and sacred deities she soon realized were far more worthy of worship.
When time comes for Eden to have the chance to return to Eden and beg for forgiveness, she refuses. Not until Death, who we already know and love, offers her a deal. Make a choice – make the ultimate sacrifice or face a lifetime of being hunted and forced to endure God’s punishment.
While Book of Genesis is a fairly dark novella, depicting dark themes and disturbing scenes, the writing is so well done, you can’t help but read on. TJ is so vivid in her descriptions, able to not only grab your attention, but hold on to it until you’ve read every last word of the novella. You can feel the heartbreak, and the pain, Lilith goes through, as she struggles not only to make her choice, but to go through and live with the choice she made🐍
Ummmmm… yeah. The beginning of it all. I laughed at one of the reasons Lilith was kicked out of Eden, you know, besides eating the apple. Damn. Definitely dark. TJ’s words of Eden are so beautiful, it felt like I was there. Exiled from taking a few bites of an apple, Lilith takes a journey of transformation and healing. Lilith gains a great deal of knowledge from her exile. Through all of this, His minions (dumb man archangels) spread lies and hunt her. After a particular incident, Lilith comes to a crossroads. There is a knot in her thread of Fate. Oh hey, Persephone comes in, and tells her she can atone for her ‘sins’ and have true freedom. There’s always a price. So much turmoil Lilith goes through for true freedom to live her life as she chooses.
This is just a taste of Lilith’s journey. TJ’s world will keep you coming back for more. The world building is exquisite. After seeing snippets of Lilith in the Cardinal series, it is exciting to see how her story unfolds. Yes, it is just the beginning. How is this only a novella?? There is so much to take in. Even though there are disturbing scenes and dark themes, it is still a must read. I could not put this down.
TJ Dallas is a wickedly wonderful storyteller who first gave us a glimpse of Lilith in the Pride/Wrath series and now she is taking us back to Lilith’s beginning in the Garden of Eden. After eating the forbidden apple and learning of good and evil from the Tree of Knowledge, Lilith is driven mercilessly out of Eden by the archangels to live in the mortal world.
After a century, Lilith is given the opportunity to return to Eden and beg God for forgiveness, but she refuses. Come along and follow Lilith’s journey and find out what choice she makes and how she must live with that choice.
I’m so glad TJ brought us more from the Pride/Wrath series! They are two fantastic trilogies and I know this Lilith series will not disappoint!
I was given an ARC of this book in return for an honest review.
How is it even possible for TJ to pack this much into a novella for crying out loud!? The Pride/Wrath series has been some of my favorites since I first read them, and I’ve been super excited ever since I heard that the prequels were being written. Getting to know Lilith better has been so amazing and I honestly can’t wait to read the next Genesis book. We get to know a little bit about Lilith in the Pride/Wrath trilogies but she’s always intrigued me and I’m so happy that we get to dive into her character here! Origin stories are always such a treat and this one blew me away. It’s definitely a much darker story than we’re used to from TJ, but I think this origin needed that darkness to be authentic. This read was total fire!
If you've read TJ's Cardinal series you're acquainted with Lilith. Now, we get finally get her story (at least the start of it with Book of Genesis). This is another fantastic piece of story telling that takes the reader through Lilith's start in Eden through the price she pays to be free from the endless punishment dealt by God through the archangels. It takes Lilith through many dark days, hard decisions, physical/mental/emotional limits to truly break free but the knowledge she gains of the world and the strength and courage she gains for herself mark the start of the journey for the woman we grew to know a bit about through the Cardinal series.
Truly great world-building and a fantastic insight into Lilith's development and origins. Cruel and dark, which was to be expected. And entirely understandable, since so much of the real "Word" itself, involves so much pain and sacrifice. The impossible was demanded of her, and she did it, but now I'm even more curious to see what happens next! The Garden of Eden, Adam, the apple, the temptation... a lot of content and quite complicated events for a novella. But, as always, brilliantly written by TJ Dallas! Thanks so much to TJ Dallas for the ARC of this prequel. I loved reading the origin of Lillith!
Book of Genesis by TJ Dallas is an exceptional retelling of the Lilith story that both longtime fans of her work and newcomers alike will love. Her masterful prose combines with a breadth of knowledge that is her signature style. Book of Genesis is not a happy story, but it touches on the themes and struggles so common, yet so unique to womanhood. It is awful and awe-inspiring -- disturbing in the absolute best of ways. To any lover of sapphic literature, I cannot recommend it enough.
I was provided an ARC copy by the author in exchange for an honest review.
This book doesn't feel like a prequel, but is more a complete story in it's own right. Lilith is a force. A woman who does her own thing, speaks her mind freely, and sometimes pays the consequences. We meet some seriously evil and unsavory characters - and those are just the "angels". Lilith's relationship with God is, well - you'll have to read the book. No spoilers here. Lilith is sometimes sassy and irreverent...and should sometimes just keep her mouth shut, but that's not who she is .. and I LOVE LILITH. All else I can say is, strap in and hold on tight, 'cuz this is going to be epic.
This is the story you were not supposed to hear, Meet Lilith first wife of Adam outcast from the garden of Eden for daring to think for herself with the help from the tree of Knowledge. Beaten and tortured to the point of death by so called merciful arch Angeles.finally having to face God's mercy!!!!!! She must make the ultimately the choice that will leave her forever changed. Want to see things a different way from what you have been told before then "Pet" read on.
Lilith was Adams first wife she ate the Apple from the Tree of Knowledge and never looked back. After being thrown out of the Garden of Eden Lilith is a very independent woman who learns that there is other gods in the mortal world. After a hundred years its her time to confess her sins to get back to life in Eden but with the Arch Angels beating Death becomes her friend. A dark and twisted story that may be true we where not there but written very wonderful. Can't wait to read the next book
TJ Dallas does not disappoint with this start to the Lilith Prequel Series. A beautifully written story detailing Liliths fall from grace be prepared to have your heart strings pulled on as well as your loins tickled.
TJ Dallas Cardinal series just keeps getting better and better and I can’t wait for the next instalment!!
I was lucky enough to be given an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review.
I am still thinking about this book since I finished it. The incredible amount of research, the wonderfully written story and Lilith herself remain in my mind. It goes without saying that I love everything that TJ Dallas writes and this novel blew me away. The whole premise is fascinating to me. Do yourself a favour and get this novel I guarantee you will not be disappointed!
Though this book is pretty dark and graphic, I enjoyed it, as I have enjoyed reading all TJ’s work. It’s good to learn how Lillith originated and all she went through to make her the woman she becomes, though it’s gut-wrenching at times. If you don’t like this kind of material, it’s not necessary to read this prior to the other books, but it does give good insight into Lillith.
Regardless of my religious beliefs I was totally absorbed in this book and I didn't find anything to be a trigger. What she endured was heartbreaking and yet shows the power of a strong willed woman. This is a very powerful story.
Beautiful and heartbreaking and oh so dark. It was so good to finally find out Lilith's story, even though it had me in a chokehold the entire time. TJ brings us another awesome book!
Once again TJ has brought us another delightfully sinful series from the Cardinal universe. This time we get to follow Lilith's journey, beginning with her banishment from the garden of Eden to an impossible decision that will determine her fate. This story is as beautiful and dark as Lilith herself. Don't be fooled by the length of this novella. It packs a big punch that will leave you wanting to follow Lilith to the ends of the Earth. I can't wait to see how this character will grow into the Lilith we know and love.
