Fiamette Jurato is on a mission: to fix her broken past. She’s teamed up with the world famous DJ, Maximillian, to search for the ex lover who can help her put all the pieces back together. There’s only one tiny glitch: he’s been dead for over two hundred years.
As a healer for all creatures supernatural, she’s no stranger to navigating the impossible maze of magical complications. But getting lost in the magic won’t be the problem, this time; finding her way back home will be.
Paranormal Romance and Urban Fantasy author Melissa Lummis lives in the mountains of Virginia with her husband and two kids, who are her support system and constant inspiration.
When she’s not manifesting with the moon or mixing up magic, you can find her cloistered in her Yurt diving into her fantasy world to craft heart-stopping and heart-warming adventures for her characters.
There are eight books in this series and this box set contains the first five. The heroine for this series is Fiamette Jurato who works as a dancer (with two hoops) and as a healer to the supernatural. In this scenario, the US is the first country where the supernatural as known and acknowledged without need to hide. In the first story, Nine 30, she was about to run out of town to escape the unwanted attentions of vampires when she meets DJ Maximillian. He and his crew need her healer talents to help his twin brother but the attraction between the two is electric . . . and so the adventure starts!
In this series you'll meet a wide variety of paranormal beings, some are friends, others certainly aren't - but may become friends as the story progresses. There are plenty of trolls, vampires, gypsy weres, spirits, demons and others in this well written series where danger is the thread running throughout. Fiamette's need to feed is endangering her as she appears to be something like a vampire succubus - but she's really not sure just what she is. As she gradually reveals more of her background and secrets as the series progresses, her search for a vampire who died hundreds of years ago continues, new friends and allies are made and her enemies poise ready to attack.
This is a well paced, action packed series with plenty of great characters and surprising happenings. It is a journey alongside Fiamette, a journey fraught with danger in which the reader witnesses her development from an untrusting loner to a very caring, loving but confused being with true friends willing to help and support her endeavours. I have no hesitation in highly recommending this box set to anyone who enjoys a well crafted paranormal adventure with perils to overcome and the possibility of romance along the way.
I had a great time getting to know this new world of urban adult fantasy and romance. I've read the first five book. I want to continue on to the next.
Review #1 - NINE30 - I found a new author, a new (novella) series, and a new heroine to wrap around. Fia was a different kind of supernatural. Her story brings me a new world to expolore. A world filled with various supernatural beings with a story to tell. I have fun with this first quickie read. I was on to the next in no time. I was sad for it to end, but excited for the next chapter to begin and see where it would take me.
Review #2 - ELECTRIC - Fia is back. With her comes a new line of supernatural beings. She gets in way over her head in this one with more at stake than getting caught. Fia continues on with Maximillian and the rest. She has to deal with trolls, vamps, fae, and more. Her journey to take care and stay alive was full.
Review #3 - STARLAND - Join Fia in her new adventures with slaves, masters, gypsies, magic, romance, and a never ending list of not knowing what was going to happen next. Fia has more going on in her life than just a little. Things are never dull around this one.
Review #4 - LIMELIGHT - Our little Fia has a huge choice set before her in this installment. I could feel her struggle and understand the hesitations that were made. Love has a way of changing the way decisions are made. Fia learns this first hand. The choice for her was not easy, but what was she to do. Hello, New York!
Review #5 - ECHO - We left Fia making that ultimate choice. Now on to the next adventure. An adventure that makes her nightmares come to life could also make her dreams come true. Fia has her hands full as always with this one. There are new challenges, new characters, and just more for her this time around.
Lummis gives an enjoyable ride in the world of supernatural all through Fia and her journeys with Maximillian and his crew. From the East coast to the West coast this novella series builds with each new read and makes for a fantastical adventure in the supernatural world with a little romance thrown in the mix here and there.
This book series is for 18+ due to graphic sexual scenes. If that is not your scene then you should probably move on.
Every now and then I run across a book (or in this case a series) that is a great mix of storytelling and character development that is neatly wrapped in a lighthearted package. The Little Flame Series, books 1-5 are exactly that.
In the Little Flame world, paranormals live side-by-side with humans in what I gathered was modern America in relative peace. The series is centered on Fiamette or Fia. She is a healer - a supe with preternatural abilities allowing her to see the Qi, the physical life force, of the universe and be able to channel it - or so she thinks. Her healing abilities are different and much stronger than other healers and then there is how she has to “feed” – not to mention who she has to feed from - in order to refuel her energy reserves.
“Sometimes, the best way – the safe way – to hunt was allow oneself to be hunted.” – Little Flame Series Box Set, Melissa Lummis
This world is fantastic. From the way the supes are organized to how Lummis integrated them into our human world – everything blended and worked within this universe. Over the five books in this box set, you discover a little more with each story that adds to the overall plot. Within there are subplots that not only add depth to characters, but give you more perspective on the world Fia lives in and the emotional and physical conflicts between all the characters.
“She sounded like the young, insecure girl she was – a lovely girl who didn’t know if she was enough. My stomach felt an old, familiar pang.” – Little Flame Series Box Set, Melissa Lummis
Fia is a great main character. Lummis did an amazing job making her relatable and complex. I felt like she was every bit her “age” with her inner musings like the quote above. I adored that Fia’s strength came from her intense devotion to those around her – especially those she loves. Her inner monologue is both hilarious and endearing – particularly there were a few times I laughed when she was being intimate.
“I felt like a safe being unlocked on click of the tumblers at a time. Five to the left. Twenty-three to the right. Nine to the left. Oh – I came undone in a bright wave of pleasure.” – Little Flame Series Box Set, Melissa Lummis
Although I love how she described the sensation above, it made me chuckle. Not sure why – it’s probably just me.
Speaking of the writing, I enjoyed how Lummis weaves lighthearted humor throughout each story and when she introduces complex situations and heavy emotional scenes, Lummis can turn on the depth.
“I didn’t want to be without his skin that smelled like ancient forests warmed in the summer sun.” – Little Flame Series Box Set, Melissa Lummis
The Little Flame series is one of the few books that I read where the main character breaks the fourth wall. Sometimes it works and other’s it seems out of place. In this series it was the latter. Every time Fia would address the reader it seemed a bit sudden and rude - which isn’t Fia’s personality at all. I’m sure Lummis was going for sassy – which is exactly Fia’s character, but it didn’t come off that way to me.
“Most healers sensed it through intuition, thus the third eye association. Chakra theory. Look it up.” – Little Flame Series Box Set, Melissa Lummis
Max is an interesting love interest. He’s a DJ and surrounds himself with interesting supes. Fia and Max run into each other while she was working as a dancer for one of his shows. They hit it off, but Fia struggles with her succubus nature and her feelings for Max. Their relationship is natural and progresses in a way that is believable regarding the subplots and background that is uncovered throughout the series. Although, I feel that – at times – Max is a little bland compared to the sassy Fia, they are a good fit.
“In that simple act of comfort, I discovered that unconditional acceptant and, dare I say, love were real. I squeezed him tighter, and he chuckled.” – Little Flame Series Box Set, Melissa Lummis
There is a pseudo-love triangle. It’s not your typical “who do I pick” type of situation, instead it’s brings more complications and brings plenty of realistic drama to Fia’s life. It doesn’t truly develop until later in the series when Fia’s emotions for Max become actualized.
There are so many other characters in this series that are equally amazing in their own right. Each side character is just as developed as the main ones with intricate backstories and their own plot lines that do add to the overall plot. There isn’t a single character that I didn’t like and that’s including the antagonists. Not that I liked their antagonizing, but their characters were spot on.
“How did he do this to me? How did he steal the sulk and self-pity right out of me and replace it with this lightness?” – Little Flame Series Box Set, Melissa Lummis
Overall, if you’re looking for a series that is fun, full of magical vengeance, steamy love scenes, supernaturals around every turn, antics galore, and a female lead who finds herself in hilarious situations – The Little Flame Series is for you.
This collection of books was wonderful. when you do not want it too end with book five, it must be good. It does start a little slow in book 1 but by book 5 it is great. It does have adult content so if you do not like it do not get it.
I reviewed each separately in their pages and then copied those reviews here.
NINE30 - For a short story this has definitely hooked me. Already I can't wait to start the next book. Of course a super powerful heroine is going to captivate me. Add in a potential romance and some issues to work out, some mystery and intrigue and you got a great start. I was not expecting it to end so soon. I received this book free for an honest review.
Electric - I received this book free for an honest review. This still seemed short to me, but perhaps longer than the first. I'm glad I'm reading them altogether as a set. In this we learn a little bit more of what she is searching for and why. She thinks she's found it but then doesn't stick around to find out... We learn more about Tati who maybe isn't as annoying as in the first book but then she's sick and quiet for most the book soo..... I have my suspicions about who her partner might be and I really think opening up at least to Dee would be in her best interest. Given how giving and self sacrificing she is I really don't get how she's survived this long.
StarLand - I receivedthis book free for an honest review. I love that there always seem to be new paranormal types to meet in this series. I really really don't like the vampires in this. They're too shallow and manipulative. This healing was sad, and it sucked that it couldn't go any other way. Finding family is always nice though.
LimeLight - I received this book free for an honest review. This one is definitely a short installment, but a lot happens. When reading you start to feel like you are the main character and phew she's a magic yo-yo. The poor woman is pulled to both these guys, one definitely bad for her, the other a mystery. It's no wonder she gets headaches all the time.
Echo - I received this book free for an honest review. Action packed and very steamy. I love this series and absolutely cannot wait to read what happens next! Connections become stronger in this and secrets are revealed. Did not expect mom, and I look forward to seeing how that pans out.

I loved this entire series! I can't wait to read the next book! Fiamette is a supe, though she is not entirely sure what type. She is basically like a vampire succubus in that she feeds on the sexual release from vampires. With the energy, she can do some really cool stuff, from reading auras to healing miracles to battling spirits. I want to make a note here: this universe seems to basically reality except that supernatural beings are common knowledge and relatively accepted. Fiat meets Max working as a dancer. Max is an amazing DJ with amazing eyes and a killer grin. Not literally. Fia and Max hit it off from the first meeting but she is determined to stick with vamps. Instead, she gets sucked into a situation that requires a healer. Along the way, there are shenanigans of all types, from magical vengeance to hilarious games. Through it all, Fia and Max are getting closer and closer and falling for each other. That is all well and good but Fia's past is coming to bite her in the butt and complications arise, forcing her to doubt herself. I won't spoil anything because Melissa Lummis does an amazing job of telling this story. It is complete with hot tension, great dialogue and fabulous secondary characters, all the way along. I have loved reading it and I can't wait to read the next one.
This series takes you on Fiamette's journey. She believes she can't really allow people to get close to her for fear of hurting them. She begins to develop across the series in a way that leaves you wanting everything to work out for her in the end. There are a variety of supes that appear across the series and lend a hand in her personal growth. They help her to see that she may not have to travel the world alone after all. Maybe, just maybe she can rely on others if only she can allow herself to let them in.
What I loved about this set was that at the end of each book, the next one was there to fill in my need to know what was going to happen next. At least that was the case until I finished book 5. I'm downloading the rest of the books in the series ASAP so I can see how the story picks up. I've become quite addicted to this story line. I highly recommend it.
The Little Flame Series is a fantastic series. I loved reading these books and I'm so glad they come in the series because I could just keep reading on.
Fiamette is a healer. She isn't just any healer though, she is a supe but not sure what type. She feeds off vampires energy during sex, and then can do amazing and miraculous things. Because of her abilities though, she is afraid to get close to people. She is afraid they will get hurt one way or another and she sure wasn't expecting to fall in love. Maximilian, however, is bound to change her mind, along with his group which quickly accept Fia as part of their mixed matched family.
I really loved these books. I haven't seen many books offering the "succubus" paranormals and I was excited to read these for that reason. I was not disappointed. These were fantastic and constantly kept my interest. Great books
Received the books for an honest review. If you haven't read anything by Melissa Lummis, like myself, then you're in for a treat. I was very pleased that these books were put into a series as each time I finished a book I couldn't wait for the next. The Little Flame Series takes is Fiamette's story. Fiamette is a supernatural healer who feeds off vampire energy during sex. Once she's replenished her energy she can do amazing things. Because Fiamette doesn't know what she truly is.she has a hard time letting people in. A long the way, Fiamette meets an interesting mix of people who help her on her journey of self discovery and trust.
I really loved this boxset and I actually read the whole 5 books within it in pretty much one night and one go! When I saw how the supernatural was sort of accepted as part of daily life, it was very much a reminder of the True Blood series in that regard. Though, you have to remember that in True Blood only the vamps were out. The other creatures were still in hiding. So this is not the case here as we can see from the get go a werewolf, faeries and some other Supes that I have never heard of before.
Awesome story. I can't wait to read #6 Fia is a gr8 character, with lots of guts & strong emotions. Her co-characters are exciting, hot, & very interesting. There are a good mix of Supes in this story as well. A gr8 read. I couldn't put it down.
I was given this boxset by author for honest review. I really enjoyed reading about the characters and the plot line of each book. I look forward to seeing where this series goes and what happens next I really enjoyed this boxset.
I enjoyed this one.. you feel her pain and her wanting.. you feel her amazing powers and how she learns to become who she needs to be.. it was a very good and addicting story and you had to finish it because you needed to know what happened next. I am very glad I got to review it
I was given this to read and review. This is the first read by this author. This book is about Fiamette who is a club dancer and a healer. She is a about to cut and run, but she can't run when she needs to help someone. That is how she meets Max and his crew. Max is a DJ. This is the start of her journey and does some revealing some of her background. She knows that she is in danger from being found by vampires. So what happens next you will have to read for yourself.
