Why is no one talking about this book?!! It was brilliant. Well- written, great characters, tragic and heart-warming. Would thoroughly recommend it. Tbh, I picked this by mistake as was looking for an author with a similar name but I am so glad I did. Brilliant first novel - will keep on my watch list for more. Some good twists and written from the perspectives of the main characters, alternating their stories and travelling through the sequence of events over the years. Thank you - a great read.
Willas sister Laika vanished years ago and she can’t stop seeing her everywhere. She is obsessed by looking for her and uncovering the truth of what really happened. The story really starts with a dinner party conversation about childhood memories. Things then twist and turn and we wonder if she will finally find out the truth. There seem to be some inconsistencies and some far-fetched plot lines. But even so it was an enjoyable read.
I was looking forward to reading this due to high praise from a friend. This was a slow burn and I almost DNF I kept going it did start to enjoy it about 1/2 way in but it did coast for abit, I feel the concept was very good but sadly the execution of the story missed something for me. I liked the characters but the story missed it mark I felt.
