Skye Druids #8

Kiss of Skye

Rate this book
He’s a secret wrapped in sin—power in every step, temptation in every breath.

He moves through danger like it belongs to him. I should be afraid.

Instead, I ache.

Everything around us is a threat, but the moment he touches me, the fear disappears.

His mouth is a promise. His body a weapon.

And I don’t know which one will break me first.

I tell myself this is survival—that the heat between us is just adrenaline, a temporary madness.

But when he looks at me like I’m the only thing that matters, the truth cuts deep.

This isn’t madness.

It’s obsession.

Need.

And it’s already too late to stop.

He’s my temptation.

The mistake I’ll make again and again.

New York Times and USA Today bestselling author Donna Grant delivers a sensual, high-stakes story of magic, danger, and the kind of love that dares the dark to strike in the Skye Druids series.

Entertaining, magical adventure! This series is part of a big world that has been explored in numerous series in this author’s repertoire. Love the world building! Great to see what past characters are up to as well! This series deals with druids, fighting against evil, and love. This story follows along with druids Mason and Rowen; Rowen is visiting from America, when she comes upon an injured Mason. Things with the druids aren’t exactly rosy; things start getting dangerous for Rowen and Mason, so they end up working together. Along the way their relationship develops, and they learn to trust and rely on each other. Good chemistry and passion! I always find Grant’s stories so entertaining!

I loved every minute of this story, even if there was less action than previous stories, mostly because we got to see more time where Rowen and Mason were together, learning about one another and getting to build their friendship. Often in a story as complex and interwoven as this series, we miss out on that character and relationship growth, so I was thrilled to get that in Kiss of Skye. Rowen is just the type of woman that you love to see find her power and her ability to trust in love as she learns not only about Mason and the Skye Druids, but her own past and future. Only when they both come to accept that their fears can be easily overcome with the right person at their side, do they begin to open their hearts, and accept that love is right in front of them. The passion between Rowen and Mason was evident from the moment their eyes connected, even when Mason was close to death, and the trust that lead to their love was beautiful as well. I am looking forward to seeing these two kicking butt together and with the rest of the team in coming stories, but the closer we get to the end of this series the more I wonder just how much more complicated the story can get without my losing the threads of everything, because honestly there is so much going on half the time I lose track. The love and connection between Mason and Rowen make this story unforgettable, but the truth of the matter is that a Skye Druids novel is never to be missed and if you’ve missed one already, I suggest you go back to the beginning and get started on this amazing series ASAP.

My least favorite of this series. The book did very little to move the storyline along as it was more of a recap of everything that has happened so far. With the different plot lines taking place from Skye, London, and Edinburgh, and a reincarnation, we were transported so quickly it was as if we were with Balladyn. On top of that, Rowen and Mason had very little time on page together to develop their relationship and no chemistry. They went from saving him, driving to Skye, to explaining what happened to the group, to the group explaining what has happened on Skye, to Rowen realizing she’s more than she knew and being trapped, fighting the “ancient”, to stopping Mason from leaving. Then end of their story and a supposed twist coming no one saw happening.

The worst books are when I don’t care at all about the characters.

Skye Druids!!

Mason Crawford has been following through on his own agenda for a while now but the London Druids finally caught on.

He hadn’t anticipated a pretty American with grit and determination—and entirely too much bravery.

The birds were linked to wisdom, prophecy, and the connection between the living and the Otherworld.

Rowen is one of the Salish Druids from America. As soon as she wanks in the door of the London headquarters she knows something is not right.

How could I possibly explain how seeing this land touches my soul and makes me whole?” she whispered. “It’s like…” “You’re home.”

This series always hits new highs with every installment. We finally understand what has been going on. At least some of it. Can’t wait for more.

Donna Grant has done it again. Just when you think the world of the Skye Druids has shown you everything it has to offer, Kiss of Skye sweeps in, flips the board, and reminds you that in Grant’s universe, imagination is not merely a tool—it’s a force of nature.

The eighth installment in the series delivers a delicious mix of emotional chaos, the deep connection of found family, all wrapped in a paranormal romance that refuses to let you breathe for too long. From the very first chapter, the tension is palpable, the stakes unmistakable, and the sense that something big—something inevitable—is about to unfold.

Fans of the series have likely been waiting, somewhat impatiently, for Mason Crawford’s story ever since the mysterious rift between him and his sister Ferne surfaced. Let’s just say the anticipation was not misplaced. Mason finally steps into the spotlight, and he does so in the most dramatic fashion possible—because in this world, characters rarely meet under pleasant circumstances.

Rowen Thornevale, a druid from the San Juan Isles, arrives in London expecting diplomacy and discussion. Instead, she finds unease thick in the air. When an ambush erupts and Mason barely escapes with his life, the two find themselves fleeing the same danger—an unlikely alliance forged in the middle of chaos. Their escape leads them, somewhat improbably and very fatefully, all the way to the Isle of Skye.

And when destiny decides to meddle, resistance is mostly a formality.

Once on Skye, the story expands in all directions. Threads from previous books tighten, long-simmering tensions rise to the surface, and the action escalates with satisfying momentum. Mason’s reunion with Ferne adds emotional depth, old wounds are reopened, and secrets—because there are always secrets—begin to surface. Meanwhile, Rowen discovers that the island awakens something within her, a quiet but undeniable sense that she has arrived somewhere she was always meant to be.

Unfortunately, dark forces seem to agree.

Rowen is a wonderfully compelling heroine—observant, intuitive, and guided by instincts she’s only beginning to understand. As the layers of her past and her power unfold, it becomes clear that her presence on Skye might shift far more than her own destiny. The fragile balance between the druid communities may hinge on what she chooses to do next.

Woven between battles, revelations, and creeping danger is a romance that unfolds with patience and emotional weight. Mason and Rowen’s connection isn’t rushed; it grows in the quiet moments between crises, shaped by trust, vulnerability, and the slow realization that some feelings are simply too powerful to deny.

Of course, this being a Donna Grant novel, the road to that realization is paved with twists, tension, and just enough danger to keep everyone on their toes.

Kiss of Skye is immersive, thrilling, and emotionally rich—another spellbinding chapter in a series that continues to expand its world with confidence and flair. And with the possibility of the Skye Druids seeking help from their allies looming on the horizon, one thing feels certain:

This story is far from over.

And frankly, I wouldn’t have it any other way.

4.25stars-KISS OF SKYE is the eighth instalment in Donna Grant’s contemporary, adult SKYE DRUIDS paranormal, fantasy romance series. SKYE DRUIDS is a spin off, set in the author’s numerous interconnected series. This is Druid Lord Mason Brannelly, and American Druid Rowen Thornevale’s story line. KISS OF SKYE should not be read as a stand alone as there is a continuing premise , and each successive instalment builds upon the previous stories. I also recommend reading DARK ALPHA’S COMMAND (Reaper 15) for back story and cohesion. Several characters from the author’s other series including Reaper Balladyn and Druid Rhona (Dark Alpha’s Command) appear as secondary characters.

SOME BACKGROUND: Months earlier, betrayal and vengeance forced a take-over of power on the Isle of Skye but someone or something is killing the Druids, not only on the Isle of Skye, but around the world including Edinburgh Scotland. With the focus on the Druids on the Isle of Skye, Balladyn and Rhona (Dark Alpha’s Command /Reaper 15) begin an investigation that reveals a danger targeting the Druids on the Isle of Skye.

Told from several omniscient third person perspectives including Mason and Rowen KISS OF SKYE follows American Druid Rowen Thornvale as she journeys to visit the London Druids but upon her arrival, not all is as it appears to be. A Druid, with life threatening injuries needs her help, and together she and Mason Brannelly travel to the Isle of Skye where reality comes into focus, and our heroine discovers she is much more than anyone could have ever imagined. The London Druids are taking aim at the Isle of Skye, and our heroine finds herself at a crossroads between power and love.

The world building follows several intersecting pathways of both enemies and friends, three divisive Druid sects, and the possible return of the beings once known as the Others. Mason will reconnect with the family he thought he lost, as Rowen finds herself obeying the directives of the people back home.

The relationship between Mason and Rowen begins as a rescues but quickly turns into a friendship. Rowen doesn’t do relationships, and believes her time at The Isle of Skye comes with an expiry date but fate has other plans for our story line couple. The $ex scenes are limited but passionate.

Once again, there is a large ensemble cast of colorfui, energetic, and magical secondary and supporting characters including Druids from London , Isle of Skye and the American Salish Druids.

KISS OF SKYE is a story of power and control, betrayal and vengeance, secrets and lies, family and friendships, relationships and love. The character driven premise is intriguing and dramatic; the characters are determined and edgy; the romance is seductive.

Those obnoxiously power hungry London Druids are about to make a move that may just be the death of Mason! He's been so careful to hide his true intentions, ferreting out who was responsible for the deaths of his parents. But he's not been as careful as he thought and a beating lands him in a world of hurt - once that his magic can't heal.

Rowen didn't want to visit the London Druids - she was happy on her PNW island. Bowing to pressure she attends and can't escape the oily feeling that she picks up from them. Making a break for fresh air, she almost misses seeing the injured Mason but she cannot leave him in such a condition and helps him to safety.

Sadly now she is firmly in the sights of London and she and Mason are going to have a fight on their hands.

Mason should be all the things that I hate - aristocratic, entitled, a tad arrogant, more money than he knows what to do with. But he's actually down to earth, worries about his family employees, his sister and this random American who has decided to help him!

I loved watch Mason and Ferne reconnect. The old hurst don't heal magically fast but they are certainly on the road. Similarly Rowen may be helping Mason but she doesn't just accept everything he tells her, she wants some more facts before she declares herself Pro Skye.

We learn so much more about Edie, George, the Edinburgh Druids (almost as big a pile of w*nkers as London!). The characters continue to draw me in and the depiction of Skye is pretty much dead on. Rowen has some major powers coming her way and I loved the way she was so unenamoured with this increase in power.

My only critique is the wrong idiom/words being used - pants/trousers, blocks/streets etc. I always give leeway in language to a certain extent when they're not using my accent (West of Scotland) for a character but there is no British accent - that's aristocratic/posh English/Home Counties that Mason has!

Otherwise it's as tightly crafted story as I've come to expect. Now left on tenterhooks wondering what comes next.

This is book #8 in the Skye Druid Series and we get to meet another great couple. This book focuses on Mason and Rowan. Mason is a Druid, and a Royal working undercover with the London Druids to find out what happen to his Parents, who were killed in an Airplane crash. Unbeknown to Mason, the Leader of the London Druids, Thomas, is aware of Mason’s secret and has plans for him. Mason is lured into a meeting, by Thomas, and is attacked by Druids. Mason, suffering from life threating injuries, from the battle, is able to get away, but is in desperate need of medical help. Rowan is a Druid from America, who was invited to visit the London Druids, starts to feel uncomfortable during the meeting and decides to leave. She, excuses herself and sneaks out of the meeting with plans to head back to America. Once outside, Rowan notices someone is in need of help and decides to lend them aid. She takes Mason home and cleans up his wounds. Mason, finally comes around and explains to Rowan; they need to leave London and go the Skye, because they need to be warned of the coming threat. Rowan agrees to accompany Mason to Skye, but has reservations, because of the negative things she has heard about the Skye’s Druids. Mason also explains that what she has heard about Skye is not true, but once they arrive on Skye, he does not know what type of reception they will receive. His sister and best friend, Carlisle, believes has become a member of the London Druids and he may be sent as a mole. He further explains he chose to let them believe he is a member of the London Druids in order to keep them safe, especially, since Carlisle, is the son of Thomas. So many twists and turns to keep you reading from beginning to end. Another great read, by DG. This book can be read as a standalone, but I suggest to start at the beginning of the series to get a full understanding of the storyline, the characters and the roll each couple plays in the series.

The Skye Druids are still holding strong, even with all the underhanded scheming by their various enemies.

Thank heavens, there's always plenty of introductions and some kind of recap of events whenever a new person makes their way to the Skye Druids. I needed that to be up to speed again.

The action and intrigue started out fast and fierce. Rowen and Mason had a very intense first meeting and they operated on pure adrenaline for a while. But after they had a chance to settle down, those scared and stressful feelings had morphed into an equally intense attraction. Rowen had a difficult path to discovering her purpose and accepting the bond with Mason. It felt like she had just started to tap into the true potential of her magic and I do hope that she, and the other Druids, will get a chance to fully display their impressive power. Mason had a very heartwarming reunion with his sister and friend, and he thrived on Skye once he was done with pretending.

With this book, another piece was slowly added to the convoluted conundrum facing the Druids. While Mason and Rowen have found love, and the Druids are enjoying a small respite after some nail-biting battles, we are far from any kind of resolution. There were some vague hints as to what might be coming, and I am eagerly anticipating an epic showdown somewhere down the line.

Kiss of Skye is book 8 in the Skye Druids series and I definitely recommend that you read the series in order, otherwise you will miss too much world building. If you can, read some of the other books that all form part of this interconnected Dark World.

Thank you to Netgalley and the author for providing me with a copy. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Mesmerising

Yet again Donna Grant has blown my mind with the world she has created. KISS OF SKYE, Skye Druids #8, a forced proximity, found family, soul mates, paranormal romance had me on the edge of my seat from beginning to end. Ms. Grant's imagination has no boundaries.

Rowen Thornevale, a druid from the San Juan Isles, has been invited to a meeting with the London Druids, but from the moment she arrives everything feels "off". Mason Crawford is at the same meeting he finds himself a victim of an ambush. Injured and fighting for his life he flees, at the same moment Rowen is also fleeing, and somehow the two end up together and driving to the Isle of Skye.

Once on Skye the action increases, the suspense builds, and emotions deepen. Mason is reunited with his sister Ferne, and it's not longer before stories are exchanged and secrets become known. Rowen, once she steps foot on Skye, feels she's "home", but evil and danger are lurking, wanting her to join them. Rowen is an observer, a person who listens to her instincts, discovers a secret about herself that could alter the fight between the three Druid communities.

Interwoven between the action and suspense is a beautiful love story, one which took time to evolve. Two soul mates drawn together by fate. Love isn't easy though, and it takes a risk to realise it can't be dismissed, that is a feeling too strong to let go of.

KISS OF SKYE was another mesmerising story. With the Skye Duids contemplating asking for help from their allies, I can't wait for more from this incredible series.

Rowen and Mason's story is so magnetic!!

Firstly, Kiss of Skye is the 8th book in a 10 part series, but don't let that discourage you from buying it! If you've never entered this world before, now's the perfect time!! You'll spiral deliciously into a world so wonderful that you'll wind up looking around the "real world" with a wee bit of hope and longing!

Rowan is an American druid who has been thrust into danger in London. Mason is a druid who has been viciously attacked by the very druids Rowan has come to meet. Compelled to aid him though she's unsure why, Rowan and Mason begin the journey to Skye and the wonders and dangers there.

Mason is a dream Alpha male! wounded and near death, he still maintains the strength that makes him so wonderful. His attraction to Rowan is not an inner battle he must overcome, it's simply a beautiful thing that grows from the beginning.

Rowan is my favorite sort of heroine: strong, sure of herself, not prone to trope errors of idiocy, and true to her heart. She never wavers in her trust and growing love for Mason so that the story feels like trur partnership that never falters.

Their chemistry sizzles throughout and definitely rewards the reader with the need to fan their face!!!

My only "eh" moment is the reveal of who Rowen is. I realize the series is coming dangerously close to the final battles , yet the big reveal kind of felt.... well, i just had to suspend my disbelief out of love for the series.

Such a wonderful series, so if you're new... prepare to travel in your imagination to a phenomenal world!!

Yet another riveting story from Donna Grant. Mason, the MMC, is the brother of a previous lead character, Ferne. He seeks answers and revenge for the loss of his parents. He is a druid from London and the heir to the earldom. Rowen, a druid from the PNW in America, comes across a gravely injured Mason and cannot leave him to die, although she is not usually one to take action, preferring to observe from the sidelines. As the story progresses, and they are both drawn into the fight against evil that has plagued the Skye Druids, she becomes more aware of her inner power and the role she can play in this seemingly never-ending fight. As in the previous few installments, the love story almost takes a back seat to the main story of uncovering who is truly behind the evil that has become pervasive on Skye and elsewhere, and what/who the voices of the Ancients really are.
Although their relationship developed slowly, and neither truly believed that they deserved the happiness of an HEA, I loved seeing them come together, eventually. Also was excited to see the return of a former main character from previous series and how she connects to Rowen and the foreshadowing that we may see many more beloved characters from Grant’s other series (Dark Warriors, Dragon Kings, Reapers) as this ultimate battle of good versus evil comes to a head. We just have to be patient until the next installment in the fall, but that’s what rereads are for!

They say that when you know, you know. Readers will just know that when Rowan, a druid from the San Juan Isles, saves Mason, heir to an earldom and powerful druid in London, sparks will fly. After the leader of the London Druids tries to take his life, their relationship is just a given. She is not only beautiful and strong but also a steady presence who refuses to abandon Mason and bandages his injuries until they can get out of London and to Skye to find his sister, who is mated to one of The Knights. Kiss of Skye is the 8th installment in the Skye Druids series. Although it could be read as a standalone, it will be a much richer experience if you have read the previous novels.
It is rewarding to have a front seat as you watch their love story develop. As always, we have evil to fight and battles to win. Donna Grant is masterful in taking the reader into the story to experience it right beside her characters. We catch a hint in this book that maybe Mason is the Water Pillar that the Skye Druids need to win against the enemy. Rowen evolves before our eyes as a reincarnated Druid from the ancient past who has appeared now because she is needed. And we have evil to fight in Beth, the London Druids, and others unknown. Thoroughly enjoyed Rowin and Mason’s HEA, but we are left knowing that the biggest battle is yet to come!

Kiss of Skye (Skye Druids Book 8) is my favorite book in this favorite series by Donna Grant. I had been waiting for Mason’s story, and this one was a worthy one. I was expecting an American to show up any more the Mason did. Boy, did she save the day for him. From beginning this was an addictive read that kept me reading way past my usual lights out time. It is a slow-burn romance for Mason and Salish Druid, Rowen. It takes time for these two which is realistic and makes their romance more believable.

The battle is a private one in this story that Rowen must do though all the others want to help her. Still at the end, there are as many questions as answers as enemies are coming from at least three sides. I appreciated the characters from other series being mentioned only since there are enough characters just in this series for a new reader to keep up with while reading. Still a new reader might feel somewhat lost a time or two with the overarching theme and characters both good guys and villains, so I do suggest to read this series in order. Addictive, consuming and thrilling read.

Magical Connections!
Rowen is a druid from America whose coven was invited to visit the London Druids and her coven leader says she has to be the one to go. At the meeting in London, she immediately does not like the feeling she gets and sneaks out. This is where she finds Mason, a druid from London, and he is severely injured. Rowen takes Mason to his sister on the Isle of Skye where they can also let the Syke Druids know what is happening. But nothing ever goes smoothly and this was no exception.
The evil from both the London and Edinburgh druids is ramping up. I don’t know who is more evil, Thomas, Peter, Beth, or the voice that tried to turn Rowen and could there be even more that we don’t know about yet? The Skye druids also talked about possibly asking their allies for help. That would be unbelievably exciting to pull characters again from the other series. I can’t wait for the next book!
Kiss of Skye is brimming with excitement, mystery and romance and has now become one of my favorites!

Kiss of Skye is the eighth book in the Skye Druids and it’s Mason and Rowen’s story. I highly recommend that you read the previous books or you’ll miss key arcs.

Mason is Ferne’s brother who cut ties with her to investigate the deaths of his parents who were Elders in the London Druids. Rowen is a Druid from the San Juan Islands who came to London after multiple invitations. As soon as Rowen attended the gathering of the London Druid’s she knew something was wrong and snuck out. She found Mason as he escaped an assassination attempt and after saving him she took him to Skye where he was reunited with Ferne.

Mason and Rowen are tossed into the battle between the a Skye Druid’s and the ancient evil that’s stalking them and during this they find each other. The book starts with lives being risked and ends with a HEA for Mason and Rowen. As always Donna Grant merged pieces from past books and characters from other series (Edith - Reapers) seamlessly - making us wait until October for Between Twilight is cruel…..

Kiss of Skye is another engaging entry in Donna Grant’s Skye Druids series, blending danger, magic, and an intense romance set against the always intriguing backdrop of Skye.
Rowan and Mason make a compelling pair. Rowan’s strength and determination made her easy to root for, while Mason brings the powerful, protective presence readers have come to expect from Grant’s heroes. Their chemistry is immediate and passionate, and I enjoyed watching their relationship develop as the supernatural threats around them escalated.
That said, after several books in the series, I’m starting to notice that many of the male characters share very similar personalities and traits. Mason fits the familiar mold of the brooding, powerful protector, which still works for the story, but it can make the heroes blend together a bit from book to book.
Even so, the fast pacing, magical intrigue, and strong romantic connection kept me turning the pages. Overall, this was a solid and entertaining addition to the Skye Druids series that fans will likely enjoy.

In the eighth installment Skye Druids series, the author delivered a captivating blend of high-stakes fantasy and a slow-burning romance that centers on the compelling dynamic between Mason and Rowen.

Mason, a druid from London and heir to an earldom, entered the story driven by revenge following the tragic loss of his parents. His path crosses with Rowen, a druid who usually prefers to observe from the sidelines rather than take center stage. Their meeting was born of necessity and adrenaline when Rowen discovered a gravely injured Mason and finds herself unable to abandon him to his fate.

This initial encounter sets the stage for a relationship where the physical attraction was immediate, yet the emotional bond was built carefully through shared vulnerability and mutual growth. Unlike some previous books where action dominated every chapter, this story had more space for character development, focusing on how both protagonists must confront their internal fears and feelings of unworthiness to embrace a future together.

Rowan and Mason. Fern's brother Mason has been gathering evidence against the head of the London Druid's in the death of their parents. Rowan is a Druid visiting London from a small island off the coast of Washington state. She wants to be anywhere but the London headquarters when a meeting is going on. She has been looking for a way out ever since she walked in the door. As soon as she sees her chance, she takes it. When something pushes her to circle the building she does it and sees a man stumble out of a hidden door, bleeding and barely able to walk. She helps him to his car and follows his directions to a storage unit that had obviously been set up as a bolt hole.

So starts their adventure as they flee London for the Isle of Skye. All the usual suspects make appearances as the big bad fights to get Rowan to change sides. The Knights, Fern, Theo, Bronwyn, etc. are all there still fighting the good fight. The story is not over yet. Still no water pillar, but a new weapon is added, nonetheless.

Rowen is a Salish Druids and has been invited to visit London. She immediately realizes something isn’t right. She runs but soon comes upon an injured man. Mason has been investigating his parents death but his cover is blown and now he has the London Druids after him. Rowen and Mason travel to Skye where his sister and best friend are residing. They summon healers and Mason is better. There is an evil presence that is trying to get Rowen onto their side. Rowen is stronger than she knows and must battle her way back to Mason even though she only gives him one night. Mason has fallen for Rowen and decides it’s better to be near her than without her at all. Rowen realizes that she is made for love but is it too late?

This was so hard to write. I didn’t want to give anything away. We are back of Skye with the people trying to save their kind. A little steamy. Action. Mystery.

Author Donna Grant never ceases to amaze me. She has a spectucular imagination. The magical worlds she creates are mind blowing. When I think she can't shock me anymore; she releases a book with something I would never have thought possible. I can say with all honesty, I am so very happy that it happens in her mind and not mine. I am so grateful that she shares her imagination with readers. Her books give me hours and hours of entertainment and always leave me excited for the next release.

The twists and revelations had me absorbing every word in Kiss of Skye. The London Druids are extending their arm of control toward America. I can only guess who else they are trying to ensnare into their organization. Thomas's actions continue to prove he will not be happy until the London Druids rule all. What is revealed in Kiss of Skye left me speechless. He is one very scary, determined Druid. He does not take failure well.

Mason, Ferne's brother, is in danger. He must fight for his life and flee after being cornered by London Druids. His luck changes when he stumbles into Rowen, an American Druid that had been invited to a meeting with the London Druids. She is fleeing for a different reason. Their escape is full of suspense and shocking surprises. Much is discovered on the twelve hour drive.

It is when they arrive on the Isle of Skye that the story becomes more intense. Friends and Families are reunited. Secrets are revealed as they plan to stand against the enemy. Rowen in so much more that she thinks she is, so much more that I could have imagined she woud be. Her story is a wild ride that I won't soon forget. Thankfully, she has Mason ready to stand by her side if she will let him.

The war amongst the Druids takes a more sinister turn. The London Druids will stop at nothing in their quest to control the Druids across the globe. Now they're trying to extend their reach, spreading lies about the Druids on the Isle of Skye and encouraging groups from as far away as the Western United States to come join them. They'll stop at nothing. Those on the Isle of Skye, though, are determined to stand in their way.

From the San Juan Islands of Washington State, to the busy streets of London and inherent magic on the Isle of Skye, the pace is rapid, the action plentiful and the emotion strong. At times it's hard to tell friends from enemies. And the stakes have never been higher.

The world Ms. Grant has created is rich and captivating, the characters engaging. The world tends to fall away when I read these stories.

I thank the author for a copy of this book. The thoughts and opinions are my own.

With the regular cast of characters from Skye and the ongoing threats (from London, Edinburgh, and Skye itself) the saga of good versus evil continues in Kiss of Skye with the introduction of a new character, Rowen. Edie and the Ancients are trying to get Rowen to join their side of the conflict. Rowen considers their offer. There’s romance and danger. There is talk of asking the Reapers and Dragon Kings to join the Skye Druids in their fight against evil. The Epilogue introduces an unnamed woman without giving any indication of who she is or what side she is on. Will there be romance or evil in her future? I’m truly enjoying this ongoing series about the Skye Druids. Looking forward to upcoming novels that will further the plot.

Thank you to NetGalley and DL Grant LLC for the opportunity to read an advance ARC in exchange for an honest, spoiler free review.

I really do like Mason. He is in turns cautious but bold, fierce but tender, passionate but stoic. He cares for his people and for those who may be harmed in battle between him and the Druids. Putting
his family first, those he chooses as his family, is his one focus and he will do anything to keep them safe. Rowan's obsession with the man who was beaten takes her further into her magic than she realizes. Her instincts tell her he is necessary not only for her own happiness and well-being, but also for the fight over evil. My only negative for the story is that many of the events have already been covered by previous stories in different perspectives. For those readers who are just jumping in, this is a good way to show what has happened. But for those who have followed the Skye Druids through the previous stories, this is an unnecessary slow-down for the series arc.

Review: Kiss of Skye
I had been looking forward to Mason’s story, and Kiss of Skye didn’t disappoint. As the eighth book in the Skye Druids series, it’s best read in order because the larger storyline continues throughout the books.
When Mason survives an assassination attempt at a gathering of the London Druids, Rowen — a Druid from the San Juan Islands — helps him escape and brings him to Skye. Soon both are drawn into the ongoing fight against an ancient evil.
The story has plenty of action and suspense, along with a slow-burn romance between Mason and Rowen that develops naturally over time. I also enjoyed seeing familiar characters again as the larger story of the series continues to unfold.
An exciting and addictive read that made me even more curious about what will happen next.

I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntary.

Book 8 in the Skye Druids series follows Mason and Rowen in their quest to rid the world of evil. Rowen is an American druid sent to London to meet with the London Druids. As we know from previous books the London Druids are not good people. But Rowen doesn't know this. Mason has always been a part of the London Druids. He thought they were the good guys until his parents sudden death. After he starts looking at the evidence of their death he realizes things are not what they seemed. Mason is soon targeted for death by the London Druids and narrowly escapes with the help of Rowen. They seek help from the Skye Druids because that is where Mason's sister Ferne is. But the London Druids aren't the only evil they have to worry about. I love the Skye Druids stories and can't wait till they are able to defeat the supposed "Ancients".

Mason, the brother who completely changed overnight and shunned his beloved sister, Ferne, finally receives his own book. Mason plays the long game and gets burned. Fleeing from the crazy London Druids, he is assisted by a new player, Rowan. Rowan is from America and vetting the possibility of joining the powerful London druids. What she sees so far is putting her off. This book should not be read as a standalone. It should be read in the order of the series.

I really like this series and each installment is better than the last!
I've been waiting for Mason's story and was not disappointed.
This book has all the feels, angst and sweetness anyone could ever want.
Mason is the strong silent alpha who doesn't allow his manliness to rule his head and somehow that's just so freaking sexy.
Rowan is quiet and she observes everything. She listens to her heart and her instincts. She's also a child of nature. If I could, I think Rowan could be my new best friend.
I love that we got to see or hear from all the Knights in this book. And as always Rhona and Balladyn.
I don't want to give anything away, but I will say if you like chewing on your nails and staying up way too late to read then this is definitely one you don't want to miss.

Kiss of Skye (Sky Druids, book 8) from Donna Grant was an attention grabber from the very beginning. Rowen is reluctantly meeting the London Druids on behalf of her family, but when she has a bad feeling, she flees the meeting. When intuition sets in, she turns and finds an injured Mason. This sets the stage for a powerful heroin who saves the one who will steal her heart. Mason turns out to be one of the good guys and gets them to the safety of Skye. We get some answers as to who or what the evil on Skye is and more questions to boot when the evil tries to recruit Rowen. Rowen turns out to be one heck of a baddie and now becoming one of the ones who will battle the evil when the time comes.

I loved this slow burn to lover’s story. Most certainly waiting to see what lies ahead.

Again, Ms. Grant has written a book that I could not put down. Rowen accepts an invitation to meet the London Druids. Immediately she feels something is off and sneaks away. That same instinct leads her to Mason. Together they travel to Skye where he is reunited with his sister. When Rowen learns what has been happening on the Isle, she wants to help. She also wants to stay close to Mason. They definitely have chemistry and the way the relationship progresses gives them time to really get to know one another. While Mason and Rowen find their HEA together, evil is still lurking around every corner for the druids on Skye. We did get some answers, but the questions are endless. I can't wait to see what comes next.
