FBI Special Agent Andrea “Alma” Almendarez is no stranger to challenging cases. Assigned to the Los Angeles Gang Task Force, she deals with violent offenders daily, not to mention risks to her safety. However, she’s about to receive an unexpected cybercrime case that will challenge her in surprising ways.

Online assailants have been threatening performers on Truly Yours—an adult content site whose unprecedented interactivity has altered the industry. Some claim the change has devastated men, which the assailants cite as the basis for their threats. Then, one of the suspects raises the stakes by assaulting a performer in her home. Alma accepts the case, but there’s a problem—herself.

Mired in financial troubles, Alma resents working with young performers who generate immeasurable wealth. That says nothing of her position on the social implications of their work. Can she set aside her differences to identify and apprehend the suspects? This will be necessary, as the threats and attacks might not be what they seem.

I won this book through a Goodreads giveaway in exchange for an honest review. Thanks for choosing me.

I read this in a single sitting, I had to know how everything turned out. I simply couldn't go about the rest of my day without unraveling the mystery. Now that I have, I can say I enjoyed the journey from beginning to end. The characters definitely did their job, they kept me intrigued until the very last line. The plot gave exactly what it needed to at the precise moment it needed. Nothing was given away until the perfect moment. I loved it.

This is the first time I read Miranda Macias work and it definitely won't be my last.

If you're looking for a crime thriller that not only involves crime but also puts the main character in a personal dilemma, this is the book for you. ‘’Truly Yours’’ is the first book of the Agent Alma series. Set in Los Angeles, FBI agent Andrea has to face one of the most challenging cases she has ever had before, a cybercrime case. In this case, Andrea will have to separate her personal life from her work if she wants to solve the case. With high stakes from the very beginning, this novel will grip you from the first page. Author Miranda Macías creates a balance with every technical detail to make the work feel very authentic. The case is constantly evolving and offers twists in the plot that you do not expect. I would also like to highlight the protagonist for her genuine struggle with her personal risks, but also for her ability to handle the case. I promise that with this book you will feel like you are running through the code, the clues, and the suspense. I highly recommend it.

More than a crime novel, this book got my attention from the first page. It introduces you to Alma, a fascinating FBI agent who is more than just an agent, she is human. This book brings many unexpected twists involving cybercrime and gang tasks that she must face, but also the human reality of financial and personal challenges.
The book will leave you questioning your own life. It adds complexity by explaining the reality of the industry and how sometimes morality is challenged. There are topics that may feel uncomfortable, but the author takes you into this story and talks openly about them, making the journey very engaging.
You will be drawn into the life of someone who is more than an FBI agent, her biases and human side are revealed, and your empathy will be key to connecting with the story.

Investigation

If you are looking for a different kind of thriller, full of tension and moral dilemmas, this story is for you. The best thing about this book is not only the suspense, but also the complexity of its protagonist: a strong woman, marked by her own financial problems and prejudices, who must decide whether she is capable of leaving all that behind to seek justice. With an engaging pace and twists that keep the reader on the edge of their seat, what seems like an investigation soon becomes a race against time, with real dangers that transcend the screen. This novel combines the adrenaline of crime with a critical look at today's society.

An ideal book for those who enjoy FBI plots, cybercrime, and nuanced characters.

Great Book

Sometimes we think that reading stories of mystery, suspense, and investigation can be difficult, and that this type of content is easier to enjoy through television series or audiovisual material. However, this book proves the opposite. The language the author uses to transport the reader into another reality is simply fascinating and surprisingly easy to follow. I truly loved this book, not only because of the suspenseful plot but also because of how immersive and descriptive the writing is. The author creates vivid images that allow the reader to feel like an active participant in the story. It was engaging, thought-provoking, and a truly memorable reading experience.

This thriller follows the FBI special agent known as Alma as she faces one of the most challenging cases she has ever dealt with. She is tasked with following up on a murder case related to a revolutionary adult content site. She has to set aside personal prejudices to delve deep and discover what is really happening.

The novel is topical as it borrows concepts from real life social media developments and societal issues around adult content creation. The story moves fast as it proceeds through many plot twists and surprise new developments. I would have liked to see more engagement with the problematic content handled in this book, but fans of fast-moving action dramas will definitely enjoy this book.

Great book

I loved this book, and it captured my attention from the very first moment I started reading it. I really enjoy books where you never know what will happen next, where suspense, mystery, and action are the dominant genres. Reading this kind of story is exciting because the plot twists and shifts constantly; just when you think you know what’s coming, everything can change, making it almost impossible to stop reading. This book kept me completely hooked and reminded me why I enjoy stories that allow me to disconnect from reality and dive into a completely different world.

I'll tell you right now, I need a sequel to this book because it's simply incredible and has a story that keeps you entertained, anxious, and always wanting to know how it will end. This book tells the story of an agent who has had to deal with criminals and quite complex situations on a daily basis, but who also has a difficult reality with financial problems that are becoming increasingly unmanageable. The story takes a turn when she has to deal with a cyberattack that will put her at a huge crossroads. It's a very complete book that shows you the protagonist's personality and all her struggles, which I loved.
