Masking Magic

Daisy Blue Belle and Fleur De Wilde were unlike any other fairies in the Glimmering Glen.

They were born on the same soft night, beneath a Translucent Moon so pale it looked like it might disappear.

Fairies born under such a moon didn’t always fit in.

They were a little quieter, a little louder, a little different in all the ways that mattered.

But when the dandelion seeds begin to drift, Daisy and Fleur will discover that being different might be the most magical thing of all.

A magical escape ....

A lot of lessons are interspersed with a tale of magic. Perhaps we are never too old to learn some of them....

‘Masking Magic’ by Bea Duncan is recommended for readers aged 8 to 14 years old. I’m much older than this demographic and was enchanted by this charming fairy story about differences, friendships and forgiveness.

Bea Duncan’s imagery is absolutely delightful; here are just two examples.

‘The Glimmering Glen was at its brightest that afternoon, as if the whole world had been dipped in honey.’

‘A single bee buzzed out… then another… then the whole swarm burst free, a living cloud of gold and fury.’

If you are looking for a wholesome, inspirational story, I highly recommend ‘Masking Magic’ to audiences of any age.
