Andrew Reese thought football was his future. When that didn’t pan out, he tried working for his father in the high stress world of finance. Finally, he’s found his place–firefighting. The crew offers a brotherhood that he hasn’t felt since quitting football. To top it off, he’s able to live in Evergreen, the same small town as his family. Life is finally going his way, or at least it was until a girl from his past shows up in his town.
Samantha has a chip on her shoulder and a comeback for all of his lines. No matter what he tries, she refuses to fall for his charm again and Andrew can’t figure out why. The way he remembers it, the summer they spent together was the best of his life, but she refuses to acknowledge their past or even admit that it happened. Meanwhile, Andrew is determined to remind her. After all, he’s not about to let the girl that got away do it again.
First, this was an amazing opportunity to be presented with and I really enjoyed this book. This review will be spoiler free, but here are my thoughts!
This story is very well-written and the development between all characters is fantastic. It is clear that the author researched wild fires, firefighters responsibilities and lively hoods, and more.
This book had it all drama, spicy scenes, hilarious moments, and soooo much more. There were moments I was laughing and moments that I was so invested in the characters well-being.
In addition, the book jumps between present day and in the past which I really enjoyed, it brings a lot of background into the book and helps fill in some of the questions in the book.
Overall, this book was a great read and I would absolutely read it again.
Thank you so much to author E.M. Langston for allowing me to read this e-arc!
I ate this up! It was my first firefighter romance and OMG I hope there are more LOL. If you like small town and second chance romances this is for you. I loved the past and present flip back and forth and it reminded me of Love and Other Words which is one of my all time favorite books. I was rooting for Andrew and Samantha from the get go and loved seeing their past and present become one love story!
Add this to your list for it's release day on September 1, 2025!
Scorching Summit is such a fun and enjoyable read I just couldn’t get enough of it. In this book we are introduced to Sam and Andrew and the struggles they have encountered throughout their situationship for lack of a better term. It flashes between two timelines in present and past and it explores the hurdles the two explored and how they became involved in one’s life. Now in present time Sam has moved back home and is now working at the fire station with Andrew. She has made it quite clear that the mere presence of Andrew rattles her in more ways than one, but is determined to see her stay through as they have to be able to trust one another and the struggles they face are difficult to say the least. I really loved the character development that we see throughout the story for both Sam and Andrew’s characters. I enjoy the banter between the two and how their story evolves throughout the book. I have always enjoyed a firefighter romance and this one was just so fun. I highly recommend you pick this up is you enjoy a spicy and love fueled romance book with fun references to beloved shows and books and a fun banter you can’t resist. This was a fun second chance, closed proximity and workplace romance book and if you enjoy any of the tropes listed you will love this.
A huge thank you to the incredible author E.M. Langston for the opportunity to read this book as a digital ARC in exchange for my honest review!
Publication date: September 1, 2025
I had so much fun reading this book! I’ve never read a book with firefighters in it before, but after this I think I might need to look into some more firefighter romance 🥵🥵.
Andrew finally found the career of his dreams in firefighting, and comes face to face with, Samantha, who just so happens to be the one that got away three years ago. Samantha moved to Evergreen to start her career and live with her cousin Jamie, only to learn that Andrew (he who shall not be named) still lives in town. What follows is a story about friendship, forgiveness, love, and finding one’s joy in life!
I’ve been getting into second chance romances recently and this one was *chefs kiss*! This book had me laughing, crying, and kicking my feet all while rooting for the main characters to find their way back to loving each other. The past/present storytelling kept me on my toes because I NEEDED to know what happened between these two, while wanting them to fall back in love in the present timeline. I also loved seeing Grayson and Jensen pop up throughout the book!
If you like small town, second-chance romances with a past/present story-telling, this one’s for you!
So thankful to have received an ARC of Scorching Summit! I’ve never read a romance novel with firefighters, but I will definitely be adding them into my rotation after this book 👀🔥
Fans of the small town & second-chances tropes are going to absolutely devour this book!
Andrew & Sam are absolutely perfect for each other - destined to be together since their first time meeting. But one little miscommunication lead to YEARS of being apart. Years of searching for “the girl that got away”, all for her to wind up as the new rookie at his firehouse & on his team no less.
The banter in this book had me giggling constantly. I loved the incorporation of the flashbacks to when they first met & I absolutely loved the dynamic of the firehouse “family” ❤️
ARC Review-This book has my two least favorite tropes-second chances and miscommunication. I did like the firefighter profession in the story, it was a different career than most books I’ve read. Sam’s father, Michael, was toxic from the beginning, controlling and manipulative. I am not a fan of the constant back and forth between past and present. But you definitely have to read “Forever Evergreen” first to know what’s going on before it’s finally revealed at the end.
A huge thank you to E.M. Langston for this ARC — I devoured it in one sitting!
This second chance romance hit me right in the feels. Andrew met Samantha during what she described as the worst weekend of her life. He uses his charm to turn that into the best week of their lives. Or so he thought… Three years later, Sam’s new job brings her back to Evergreen — and face to face with Andrew every single day.
The dual timelines were done so well, weaving past and present in a way that had me completely hooked. I had to know why Sam was so mad at Andrew ASAP! The slow unraveling of their history was perfectly paced and full of some seriously swoony moments.
I absolutely loved the banter between these two — sharp, witty, and filled with so much tension. The author also does an amazing job of making you fall in love with all the side characters, each one adding depth and warmth to the story. It felt like a world I didn’t want to leave.
If you’re a fan of second chances, small towns, and romances that make you laugh, cry, and swoon all at once — add this one to your TBR immediately. 💕
This book was a slow burn… literally! 🔥 I found myself kicking my feet and giggling at Sam and Andrew’s story! I loved that this book had some serious subject matter that lended well to the building romance of the two characters. The story was light hearted, but also had some heartwarming moments that equated to what it means to fall in love in real life.
Absolutely honored to have been given the opportunity by the amazing author to read the ARC of this book. If I could give 4.5 stars I would, only losing .5 of a point because I’m not a huge fan of 3rd person books. That being said, the love story between Andrew and Sam is captivating and each page leaves you begging for more. In this will they, won’t they, second chance story, you’ll find love, laughter, nicknames, and a bunch of misunderstandings. Definitely worth the read.
3.5 ⭐️ 👨🏻🚒 small town romance 👨🏻🚒 second chance 👨🏻🚒 firefighters 👨🏻🚒found family 👨🏻🚒 past and present
A huge shoutout to Author E.M. Langston for writing this small town romance and for graciously giving me an ARC of Scorching Summit.
Set in the small town of Evergreen, California, this story follows Andrew and Samantha. Andrew is a firefighter who traded in his football uniform for a fireman’s gear, after trying finance. He’s a young guy who loves his family and adores his job. Everything is going well—until he recognizes a girl he spent a week with one summer, three years ago. He never thought he’d see her again. Fast forward to the present: Sam has moved to Evergreen, where she once visited her uncle and cousin. She’s here for a fresh start as a rookie at the Evergreen Fire Station, working under her Uncle Chumbo. But things quickly go sideways when she learns she’ll be working side by side with Andrew.
Andrew wants to move past their history—he’s still not over Sam and sees her as the one who got away. Sam, on the other hand, would love nothing more than to never see Andrew again. Can they learn to work together, or will one of them lose their spot in Evergreen—or end up transferred? I really enjoyed the small-town California vibes, the firefighter setting, and the second-chance romance! The tension and banter between Andrew and Sam was compelling, though there was a fair bit of miscommunication. The obstacles from both the past and present kept the story moving. The flashbacks were well-paced and helped build out the characters and their relationship. Andrew was a super sweet male main character, but Sam was a bit harder to connect with—she definitely has a chip on her shoulder! I wasn’t a huge fan of it in third person.
The first Evergreen novel, Forever Evergreen, is out now and on kindle unlimited!
Check this lil cutie romance out! Publication: September 1, 2025!
before i start i just wanted to say a special thank you to author E.M. Langston for giving me the opportunity to read and review her book i am so incredibly grateful and i really enjoyed it !!!
actual review:
i’m ngl starting this book in the middle of a different series was rlly dumb but that was my poor decision but this book truly was really good. As most people know im not a huge fan of second chance romance trope but this story was one of the very few in the genre that i liked. it was very heartfelt and you can tell the amount of effort and research that was put into this book. I love that this book really goes deep into the work that our first responders do for us and all the things they do to keep us safe.
relationship wise i do think this book is very slow burn. it’s sort of like you always know that they like each other but it’s slow to admit it and slow to act on it. One thing i didn’t like was it felt like a lot of lust. They did have a lot of cute moments between andrew and sam but a lot of the book was just them lusting over each other which if you like that type of thing then i think you’d love this book. The story itself was really good and I was invested in andrew and sam’s relationship.
It was definitely hard for me to finish this book. Whenever i picked it up it was always really good and i got really far but as soon as i put it down i was never motivated to pick it back up immediately but for the most part it was an amazing book.
spice- 3.5/5 ( a few detailed scenes idk how long they last i skipped them, talk about hookups, mention of past relationships, kissing etc)
language- 6/10 (a hole, sh*t, b****, f bombs, damn, etc)
violence- 3/10 (andrew got beat up by sals dad, injuries from fire rescue etc)
Huge thanks to the author for letting me read this ARC. It was sweet, funny, and fiery!! The perfect little rom com.
I don’t love 3rd POV bc I NEED to be inside the characters heads at all times. I only read 3rd POV if it’s done extremely well and this was a little rough. I enjoyed that it told the story from almost every single characters POV but it jumped around so fast it was hard to tell whose pov I was in. It would switch from sentence to sentence. This was an ARC so maybe the final copy will be cleaned up a bit more.
I love books about firefighters. Being a first responder myself, I especially love when the FMC is one too!! The problem with this FMC is that she was very immature. She was supposed to be 22 but acted like she was 15 in most scenarios.
I also am super picky when it comes to these books bc of my profession. I wish there had been a bit more research done and the ending of the book was just so unrealistic and unsafe that I like actually had anxiety reading it. BUT IF WE ZOOM OUT OF THAT and come at it without my personal knowledge it was cute, a good read, and who doesn’t love a dramatic love confession in the middle of a blazing fire??
THE MMC oh I loved him. Huge fan. I love me a man who falls hard, fast, and is utterly obsessed with the FMC. He made it all worth while.
All in all, it was a cute little small town romance and I would definitely consider reading another of her books again!
Thank you E.M. Langston for this ARC copy of Scorching Summit!
I am so glad that I always listen to my gut and decided to read book 1 first, as the story line of Jensen played a BIG role in this one with a MAJOR miscommunication that lasted 3 years!
The majority of this book takes place 3 years after Forever Evergreen (Book 1) but with flash backs that take place in the same timeline as Forever Evergreen (Book 1).
Scorching Summit was definitely a story of second chance romance, with the MCs falling fast and hard for each other for the best week of their lives one summer. Which was then ruined, mainly because of Samantha’s father, never letting her know how much Andrew was fighting for her (plus Samantha just assuming that Andrew was the jerk everyone said he was when she overheard him with Jensen).
Fast forward 3 years, Andrew is so happy to see Sam and that he gets to see her everyday! But Sam can’t say the same, because she truly believes that after she gave him her virginity that he was done with her, which was never the case.
I’m not sure if they hadn’t gone through those three years, or all the stuff if they would have ended up as strong and as solid as they became?
Ugh but the miscommunication was torture, especially because you could see how much Andrew was trying to show Sam how much she meant to him and how much he loved her!
Now, I’m usually a romantasy girly through and through, but when the Scorching Summit by E.M. Langston ARC came up, I had a great feeling about it and decided to try something different. And I’m so glad I did.
This is the second book in the Evergreen series, but it can absolutely be read as a standalone (which is what I did). It’s set in Northern California, which also happens to be where I live, so it was extra fun trying to piece together exactly where Evergreen might be inspired by. That little detail made the reading experience feel even more special.
The story follows Andrew Reese, a former football hopeful who finally finds his calling as a firefighter, and Samantha, the one who got away. Through a dual-timeline narrative, Langston slowly reveals what went wrong between them.
Expect flirty, fiery banter, forced proximity, and a romance that’s equal parts heartwarming and heart-wrenching. The firehouse camaraderie and high-stakes moments add intensity, while the Evergreen community provides the cozy, small-town backdrop that balances it all out.
If you love: • Second-chance romance • Enemies-to-lovers vibes • Found-family feels • Stories that weave past + present until everything clicks
…then Scorching Summit deserves a spot on your TBR.
This book gave me all the feels, and stepping outside my usual romantasy lane was so worth it.
Scorching Summit is everything I want in a romance—and then some.
From the very first page, E.M. Langston throws you into a story that is equal parts sizzling chemistry, raw emotion, and breathtaking character growth. The tension crackles in every glance, every word, every stolen moment, and I found myself absolutely glued to the pages.
The setting of the summit was the perfect backdrop—claustrophobic in the best way, amplifying the intensity of every scene and making the stakes feel so real. Langston masterfully weaves together slow-burn attraction with fiery, unforgettable passion, creating a story that lingers long after the final chapter.
What I loved most was how the romance didn’t just feel steamy—it felt earned. The banter was sharp, the longing was palpable, and the emotional payoff was pure magic. I caught myself grinning, gasping, and even tearing up more than once.
This book isn’t just a 5-star read—it’s a 6-star experience. Perfect for readers who crave romance that’s both scorching hot and beautifully heartfelt. E.M. Langston has officially secured a permanent spot on my auto-buy list.
🔥 Unputdownable. ❤️ Emotional and real. 🌄 A romance that sets your heart—and bookshelf—on fire.
If you haven’t read Scorching Summit yet, trust me: clear your schedule, because once you start, you won’t be able to stop
🔥 Firefighter + small‑town + second‑chance = my new obsession.
Andrew Reese thought football was his path, then finance burned him out—until he found his true calling: firefighting and that tight‑knit crew in Evergreen. Life’s steady…until Samantha rolls back into town with a sharp tongue, a bigger guard, and zero interest in revisiting the summer he swears was everything. Cue denial vs. persistence, history vs. hurt, and chemistry that crackles like a backdraft.
Why it worked for me:
Miscommunication done right. Huge shoutout to E.M. Langston for nailing the trope: it’s not cheap or dragged out—it's rooted in who these two are and what they fear. The mismatched memories, the “that’s not how I remember it,” the way pride, small‑town gossip, and old wounds twist the truth—chef’s kiss.
Found family vibe. The firehouse brotherhood gives Andrew depth and stakes beyond the romance.
Pacing & payoff. Tension builds scene by scene, with banter that bites and soft moments that land.
Andrew Reese walked away from football, barely survived the finance world, and finally found purpose as a firefighter. Life in Evergreen is exactly how he wants it—until she shows up. 😮💨
Samantha isn’t just any girl—she’s the one that got away. Now she’s back in town, armed with attitude and zero interest in rekindling old flames. But Andrew? He’s not giving up that easily.
✨ What to expect: 🔥 A determined, swoony firefighter 💬 Sharp banter + undeniable chemistry 🏡 Cozy small-town vibes 💔 Second chances with emotional depth
This is the kind of romance that brings the heat but still warms your heart. Perfect for fans of slow-burns, stubborn love, and characters with unfinished history.
If I had one tiny complaint, it’s that the cover screams fall 🍁—but I don’t recall the season ever being mentioned. Maybe I missed it? 🤔
"Scorching Summit" is book two in the Evergreen series—I’m glad I read "Forever Evergreen" first! 💚Definitely recommend starting with book one for the full experience. ✨
Big thank you to @author_e.m.langston for letting me dive into your book! 💕 Now… any chance we’re getting a book 3 with Nicole’s story? Asking for a friend. 😉
Scorching Summit by E.M. Langston is the delightful second entry in the series, and it’s every bit as fun, flirty, and heartwarming as fans could hope for. Picking up the tone and charm of the first book, it deepens the series world while introducing a romance that feels fresh, playful, and completely addictive.
The chemistry between the main couple practically leaps off the page — full of witty banter, laugh-out-loud moments, and that slow build of tension that keeps you reading “just one more chapter.” At the same time, the author grounds the story with genuine emotion, giving both leads personal growth arcs that make their happy-ever-after feel well earned.
What really makes this sequel shine is how it ties back to the first book while still standing strong on its own. Familiar characters pop up in ways that feel like catching up with old friends, and the setting of the summit itself adds a fun, slightly adventurous vibe that makes the romance sizzle even more.
If you’re a fan of contemporary romance that blends humor, sweetness, and swoon-worthy moments, Scorching Summit is a perfect pick. It’s the kind of story that leaves you smiling long after you’ve turned the final page.
Andrew Reese traded touchdowns for turnout gear, and let me just say—he wears the firefighter role very well (emotionally and… otherwise 😏). He’s finally found purpose, brotherhood, and peace in Evergreen. That is, until the one that got away comes stomping back into town—with sass, a chip on her shoulder, and absolutely no interest in his charm.
Enter Samantha: queen of comebacks, holder of grudges, and apparently on a personal mission to pretend their perfect summer fling never happened. The audacity. But Andrew? He’s not giving up. Because when it comes to rekindling old flames—he’s a pro.
Langston delivers all the good stuff: second chances, unresolved tension, small-town vibes, family feels, and a slow-burn romance that will leave you fanning yourself with a hunky firefighter calendar. You’ll root for Andrew, swoon over his persistence, and cheer when Samantha finally starts to melt.
Rating: 5/5 Spice Level: Flirt-now-swoon-later 🔥 Tropes: Second chance romance, small-town charm, reformed athlete, stubborn heroine, firefighter fantasy
Scorching Summit is the kind of book that feels like coming home—with a firehose full of feels. 💛
I had the amazing opportunity to be chosen as a ARC reader for this book 🖤
Please don’t let the 4 ⭐️’s fool you! It’s more like 4.5! Let me explain before I get to my thoughts on the story!
I gave it 4 (4.5) ⭐️’s ONLY because it’s not my typical style of writing that I like to read. I read mostly dual pov’s or pov’s in general. Where this book was written out like the author was reading the story to you. Which was still written so amazingly!
I also liked (that you don’t see in a lot of books) that it didn’t just have monologue for Andrew and Sam, it also talked about other people’s conversations outside of the MCs
BUT!!!!!! The story was sooo good!! I was able to stay engaged and interested in reading the story despite it not being my typical style. My opinion is just that, an opinion, a preference
I loved this story! Andrew and Sam were absolutely perfect for each other! But of course, they had to get past the enemies to become lovers 🖤
The banter was great! I love it! I laughed, got a little emotional, and angry with Sam in some parts.
But their love story was real, hot, and steamy 🔥 And I’m not just talking about the actual fires they fight on the daily 😏
🔥 5 stars 🔥 Scorching Summit by E.M. Langston absolutely lived up to its name — sizzling, emotional, and addictive from page one! This small-town, high-stakes romance had me hooked with its fiery chemistry, witty banter, and the kind of tension that makes you want to shout “just kiss already!” 😍
Langston’s characters feel so real — flawed, passionate, and impossible not to root for. You’ll find yourself equally swooning over the romantic moments and gasping at the twists that keep the story from ever feeling predictable. The setting was vivid and cozy, yet pulsing with drama, making it the perfect backdrop for all the sparks (and storms) between our leads.
What I loved most was how Langston balanced the spice 🌶️ with a deep emotional connection — the kind of love story that feels earned through vulnerability, laughter, and a few stubborn standoffs. The pacing was spot-on, pulling me through the story while still letting me savor the moments that mattered.
If you’re looking for a page-turner with heat, heart, and just enough angst to keep you glued to the page, Scorching Summit is a must-read! 💖📚✨
Thank you to E.M. Langston for this E-ARC! This book was such a fantastic firefighter romance! I was truly obsessed and kept finding moments in my day to pick it up and read.
I especially loved the last 20% I felt like I was living in the show Fire Country, praying the fire wouldn’t take out the entire town.
Michael was the character I loved to hate. At first, I could understand his reasons for how he acted, but my jaw hit the floor at how he handled everything and at the end…. Well we will leave it at that!
Sam/Samantha was so hard-headed I was literally yelling at my Kindle the entire time 😅.
Andrew gave total golden retriever vibes with how much effort he put into the relationship and how hard he tried it was hard not to fall in love with him.
The friendships and family in the book was easy to fall for as well.
I loved the story overall. The dual timeline was done so well and was very easy to follow.
Tropes: • Instant Love 💌 • Second Chance Romance 💘 • Forced Proximity 🥎 • Dual Timeline ⏳ • Small Town Romance 🧯 • Workplace Setting 🚒 • Return to Home 🏡 • A little Enemies to Lovers (more on Sam’s part 😅) • Friends to Lovers 🫣 • Found Family 💕
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.
Scorching Summit was the second-chance romance we all needed! Andrew and Sam’s story was more than just their romance coming back to life. It was a story of patience and hard work, as well as two people committing to learn about the present rather than living in the past.
There was something so lovely about watching these characters come back together after time and misconceptions kept them apart. Sam’s role as a female firefighter in particular really added to their dynamic. It forced these two to finally have the conversations they should have years ago, and I loved seeing how honest communication really benefited them.
I loved how E.M. Langston didn’t shy away from showing the good and bad of being a firefighter. Sam and Andrew’s shared job comes with so many risks, but seeing the compassion they both showed towards others really highlighted something special within them. The community around the firehouse was so important for Sam and Andrew as well, and I loved that found-family aspect of the story.
I voluntarily reviewed a free advance copy of this book provided by the author. The opinions expressed are my own.
I loved this book! The chemistry between Andrew and Samantha was so real—hot and cold at times, but always electric and rooted in deep friendship. You could feel their connection in every scene. What really made this book shine was the closure it brought, not just for their relationship, but for Samantha’s journey with her family. It was satisfying in all the best ways.
Just like with the first book, I adored the Reese family dynamic. Andrew, his siblings, and their mom are written with so much warmth and authenticity. And I need more of Jamie and Reed—fingers crossed we get their story soon!
My only (small) complaint is that the POV shifts weren’t clearly marked, which occasionally made it jarring mid-scene. But honestly? The story, the emotions, and the fun totally made up for it. This book was full of heart—love, tension, humor, and healing—and I can’t wait to see what comes next in the series. ❤️
Review from an ARC, thank you E.M Langston for honoring me with getting to read this book. Can’t wait for everyone else to get to read it too!
My first book written by Emma Langston and I was left NEEDING book 3 in the Evergreen Series!
A young Sam trying to figure out her way within the decisions she's made, being forced to work alongside the boy who broke her heart 3 years prior. Her relationship with her father and uncle is complicated but a beautiful moment of growth for Sam. Andrew a town firefighter was never able to move past the girl who stole his heart during the most amazing week of his life, 3 years prior. Loves his family and has such an easy going dynamic with anyone who comes in contact with him.
The emotional rollercoaster these two take us on is easily relatable and allows the reader to sympathize with both leads. Absolutely so many great aspects to this book. Let's list a few: - small town dynamics - second chance (my all time favorite troupe) - silk pillows IYKYK - roadtrips across state boarders - reptiles (thank you snakes) - awkward work dynamics - cereal and Vampire Diaries
If you're looking for your next fun read...look no further!
Thank you, E.M. Langston, for allowing me to read and review this e-ARC of Scorching Summit!
If you love small-town vibes, second chances, forced proximity, and some open-door spice, this one is for you!
Sam and Andrew’s story pulled me in right away. Years of miscommunication and a grudge kept them apart, but when fate throws them back together, sparks fly. The witty banter and tension between these two? Absolute chef’s kiss. Andrew, the scorching firefighter, is everything you’d want in a romance hero. 🔥
The flashbacks added so much depth and heart to their journey, giving the story even more layers. While the book is written in third person—which isn’t my usual preference—I have to give credit to Langston, because she nailed it. I just personally enjoy the intimacy of first person, which is why I landed on 4.5 stars instead of 5.
Overall, this is a beautifully written second-chance romance filled with heat, heart, and small-town charm. I highly recommend adding it to your TBR!
📖 Scorching Summit releases September 1st—don’t miss it!
"It feels like fate is giving me a second chance let the biggest fumble of my life."
Samantha (Sam) & Andrew. They met as teenagers in a summer town - both visiting and both with plans to leave. And they did. But not before they made contact and everything changed. Years later, after no contact, they're both surprised to see each other in this small town neither of them ever lived in and then find out they are assigned to the same fire station. The back and forth of these two is straight up miscommunication. Some of it is their own fault, some of it belongs to listening to her father. But this trope is big in this book. They are young and sweet, each looking for something and trying to figure out if they can make it work. He's an open book tripping over himself and trying to backtrack so he doesn't scare her off. Loved the friends rallying around them- including the friends who did take sides against their friend (Andrew) being treated badly.
This is book 2 in the Evergreen Series and can be read as a standalone. The timeline jumps around and was easy to follow. It is written in 3rd person.
"In a different world we could really be something." "In a different world you would be my everything."
🔥ARC Review: Scorching Summit by E.M. Langston 🔥 Genre: Steamy Second Chance Romance Tropes: Small Town, Enemies to Lovers, Dual Timeline, He Falls First, One Bed
Three years ago, Andrew and Samantha shared what felt like the best week of their lives. Now, reunited under very different—and much more complicated—circumstances, sparks fly in all the wrong (and oh-so-right) ways. Both firefighters, both stubborn, and both still undeniably drawn to each other.
Scorching Summit delivers on every front: sizzling chemistry, sharp banter, and heart-wrenching tension. I loved the dual timeline POV—it adds so much depth to their journey. And if you’re a sucker for steamy one-bed scenes, slow-burns with heat, and heroes who fall first and hard, you need this on your radar.
E.M. Langston absolutely nails the swoon, the spice, and the emotional payoff.
🚨 Add it to your TBR now—Scorching Summit releases September 1, 2025! Trust me, you won’t want to miss it.
I had the absolute pleasure of reading an advance e-copy of Scorching Summit, and let me just say—this book delivers everything I want in a slow-burn, enemies-to-lovers romance… and then some.
What sets this book apart is the way Langston handles emotional growth and vulnerability. It’s not just about the romance, it’s about finding your way back to yourself after heartbreak, and learning to trust someone again—even when it terrifies you.
The dialogue sparkles with wit, the romantic tension is off the charts, and the payoff is worth every page of buildup. I laughed, I swooned, I maybe even cried a little.
If you love:
Forced proximity Grumpy/sunshine energy Firecracker heroines and emotionally guarded heroes And settings that feel like their own character …then you NEED to add Scorching Summit to your TBR right now. Thank you to E.M. Langston for this early read—this book is definitely one I would read again!
