As a massive collector of sports history, I can honestly say that Court Queens is going straight to the treasured shelf. Emma Baccellieri and Jordan Robinson have captured the soul of the game in a way that feels deeply respectful and incredibly fun. The archival photos are easily my favorite part. There is something so surreal and inspiring about seeing these pioneers hoopin' in full length skirts and leather shoes. It really makes you appreciate the DNA of the sport and the sheer grit it took to play the game back then.

With the WNBA hitting its historic 30th season and top stars finally signing those well deserved $1.4M max contracts, the timing of this book is perfect. We’re seeing record breaking viewership for women's basketball, but you can’t fully appreciate the heights of today without seeing the foundation. I loved this book. I found myself going to the internet to try to learn more about the history of women's basketball and glean more about each woman mentioned. There is not a lot out there on some of these incredible women which is why this book is so important. The authors did the research, and I'm grateful. Kudos to the authors. Reading this book made me want to host a Wikipedia edit-a-thon to get more exposure to the accomplishments of these women.
I'm glad I have a print copy because the photos are an important part of the book. This book is a great coffee table book/discussion piece. My spouse and kids gave me this book for my birthday. I recommend giving it as a gift for the women's basketball fans in your life.

While this isn't as great a history of women's basketball as Shattering the Glass and Inaugural Ballers, it is still pretty good, and certainly does its work for those seeking an introduction to the sport. Look on this as another valuable block in building a needed library on something truly glorious.
