This was extremely hilarious.
I loved everything about this one. It's so awkwardly hilarious and I couldn't stop laughing the entire volume, especially the end.

Have you ever wondered how your favourite anime or cartoons are made? Well, to be exact how the voice actors are chosen? If yes, this fabulous story is just for you! I have read it twice, and both times I loved it a lot. Though it lacks a bit the romance declaration from the main couple. Yup, in the whole 12 or so volumes there’s not a single kissing scene. As you know, I always hate when the romance manga doesn’t have at least one kiss. However, as you can see I loved it when I read it for the first time and even reread it for my liking.

But, let me start from the very beginning. Meet our heroine – Hime a high-school freshman in a very specialized school. Her dream is to become a professional seiyu, meaning a person who dubs anime and video games. However, there’s a problem, she has quite interesting voice and you’ll need quite an imagination to recreate the sounds, but trust me as soon as you start reading the voices of each character will be coming alive. You don’t believe me? Bad for you, you just need to start reading and you’ll understand absolutely everything.

The story focuses on how Hime got into the industry and fell in love with Senri. He’s one great character and his story is something that develops fantastically and you want to know how his relationship with Sakura Aoyama (that’s his mother) will go. To say the truth I wanted a bit more. I did love how Senri and Hime end up together, but I wanted to see at least their wedding, but nope I didn’t get it. And plus I really wanted to see how Hime would act girl’s roles, so far she only did men’s ones.

So, you are ready to get to know Hime, Senri and Mizuki? That’s another character that you really need to get to know better! Enjoy it to its fullest and don’t forget to share your thoughts below! Stay tuned for more reviews as well as promos. Don’t miss your next favourite book or manga! Happy reading!

XOXO

THE GOOD

Hime/Shiro: the worst part of school has reared its ugly head.... final exams, grah! As Hime struggles to keep her grades up and avoid summer school, she finds herself partnered for a dance on the practical exams with none other than Senri Kudo! The two of them were adorable as they fumbled about with each other. And then a new job presents itself, but.... oo la la, it's BOYS LOVE drama cd... and the other leading star? Senri! <3

Senri: He was so wonderful this volume.

THE BAD

The Woman who wrote the BL: She was grabby with Shiro and it came off a little creepy....

3.25 Stars!

I don't think anything super important happened in this volume, personally. It was a lot of fun to read, but I was kinda just like "that's it?" It did make me more excited to move on to the next volume immediately though, whereas after I had finished reading Volume 3, I definitely needed a break.

Random thoughts I had (listed in no particular order):

-I'm gonna start off by being an absolute jerk because literally why would Yamada not come up with an excuse for Hime to miss classes and for teachers to be more lenient - NDAs exist for a reason! This annoyed me then and it still annoys me now.
-That being said, I will never shut up about the Stragglers being the best friend group ever. The way they rallied around Hime was everything to me. Also, Hime and Sho's friendship is annoyingly underrated, they're absolutely best-friends that share a brain cell. Gorilla Princess and Boss forever!
-I vaguely recall Hime and Senri having to work together for finals, but I forgot that they did the damn waltz, my bad honestly. The fabric swishing around as they dance looks like it was probably such a pain to get right. It's absolutely gorgeous though. Also, Hime's hair in a ponytail >>>> her hair in braids.
-I appreciated that there was some new information about voice acting introduced in this volume. I personally love learning about the different aspects of this industry, I thought the explanation of binaural microphones flowed quite seamlessly with the rest of the story and it was really cool to learn about.
-Also, super glad that Mitchy's Room has officially been replaced by Catherine's Diary. This was actually my favourite Catherine's Diary and can I just say? These poor cats. The things they've seen, honestly. Imagine that you're a cat and your owner randomly tears down his curtains one day. I'd be terrified, these cats are the true MVPs of the series.

I immensely enjoyed reading this gender-bender.

The story is about a girl named Kino Hime whose dream was to become the voice of the main character in one of the most popular series in Japan, "Magic Fighter Lovely Blazers". To do so she entered a high school that has classes for voice acting.

Due to the sound of her voice not being suitable for acting(sounded like an old man and sometimes even worse), she was made fun of and was last in class. She soon meets 3 other classmates who also have problems with their acting and their group was called dropouts.

To Kino Hime surprise her idol's son is in the same class but is very cold towards everyone. She tries her best to deal with him throughout the story and falls in love.

Kino Hime also finds out that she can make her voice sound like a beautiful young male and this captures the attention of a producer who offers her a contract that may open the way to her future and up the stairs towards her goal. But there is a catch, she has to dress up as a boy and only use her male voice and nobody can no of this deal.

What i like a lot about this manga was how the main character lived with her mother and her younger sister and how mother doesn't acknowledge her at all, always telling her that shes a disappointment, etc. Throughout this story Kino Hime is trying her best to prove her worth and to make her mother proud of her. It also showed her emotions on how much she wanted to succeed in doing so.

Seiyuu-ka! a.k.a Voice Over!

The rating and review are conclusion for all of the volumes. Except for the synopsis.

Okay. This is a good story to pass my time before I start to concentrate on my final exam. It is not a slow pace story. I had fun reading this because there are some funny moments.

However, I don't give this manga a high rating because I don't admire the drawing. I could say the story is not so bad but what interests me the most about manga comic is the drawing. The characters for this story is good I guess. I mean, for example, the hero of this manga feels like a robot. I don't really like that.

I mean it's all good but I just don't feel it that much you know? There are a few sad scenes but it's not enough to trigger my emotions. So I kind of feel that this manga is not 'compatible' with me. You might want to try it out as it is not so bad. But for me, I like other manga compared to this.

I've just realized that I've read this manga before but I just can't quite remember the flow of the story. That's how I know I just don't enjoy it so much.

Synopsis for volume 6:
Hime finished her first job successfully. But now comes another problem which is exam. Hime is not really a bright student so she have to put more effort than other people.

What's more she is paired up with Kudou Senri for one of their exam. Will they be able to work together in order to pass their exam?

~4-4.5/5

I love this series. It’s crazy hilarious, and I’m excited every time a new volume comes out. It’s hilariously crazy, and I love every minute of it.

The first half of this volume focuses on exams, which Hime is struggling through. Including for dance, where she has to partner up with Kudo, who is not a fan of her. It’s a struggle for both of them, and it’s hilarious. I can’t wait for them to really get close to each other, and for Kudo to find out she’s Shiro. Until then, I’ll just enjoy the moments they get together.

In the second half, Hime gets another voice acting job, only it has a love scene. With Kudo. This is hilariously adorable, because she’s never done something like this before, and now she’s forced to think of Kudo like that, and he has no idea. She’s also struggling with the way her acting is going, and I like, and respect, how maturely she’s handling it, and working at it.

I don’t know if any of this is going to continue into the next volume, but I really hope it does. Either way, I’m super excited for the next volume. I can’t wait to read more of this.

Hime finishes her first assignment as Shiro and gets praise from both Fujimori (who gives her flowers) and Mizuki (who gives her a glasses case). Then reality sets in that she has to go back to school and take finals, her fear is that she will have to then take summer classes and not be able to work as Shiro. Then Hime gets her practical skills partner for the final and it is none other than Senri Kudo who doesn't want her help. Is she doomed for summer school?

This was a great volume that really showed the power of teamwork and the power of getting into character. While Senri and Hime's roles seem to conflict at times there are some tender moments that really draw you in. The illustrations are beautiful like always and the way the expressions are drawn really show off how the characters are feeling. This was a great volume and I can't wait for the next one.

I received this advanced copy from VIZ Media through Edelweiss in exchange for my honest review.

Every volume I read of this manga just makes me fall more and more in love with this story! Hime and Senri are so cute, even when they "hate" each other. I also love the Mitchy and Catherine side stories. This manga just has so much cuteness I can't handle it! Really loved seeing how Hime is advancing in the voice acting industry, can't wait until the next volume.

Senri Kudou.

This series is getting better as it goes along. The romance gets more interesting in this volume and I always enjoy the behind-the-scenes look at voice acting. This was a fun volume; I'm definitely excited about v.7 now.

First the fun of warring Senri & Hime dancing their way into a good grade together, and then Shiro (I mean, Buranka) does a boys' love drama CD romance scene - with (sort of) Senri! OMG I'm still in stitches. And that ending - I cannot wait for Volume 7!! Senri + Shrio seriously make this series.
