Fairelle #2

Snow the Vampire Slayer

Rate this book
Lady Snow Gwyn is tired of playing "mother" to her seven Vampire Slaying brothers. For the past two years, she's yearned to be out there fighting at their side as they hunt for bloodsuckers in the black of night. Snow is as good a fighter as any man, but she wasn't called to be a Slayer. A mere formality in her book.

Prince Sageren, Son of Lothar has spent the last fifty years in exile, awaiting the day when he can finally avenge his family and take back his throne. Barely existing, he's forced to face his inner demons and the monster he once was, compelling him to vow to never drink from humans again. A simple enough task--until he crosses paths with a human who makes his fangs ache to drain her.

When Snow runs into Prince Sage on a late night trip to the woods, she's torn between the urge to kill him and the desire to succumb to the feeling he stirs within her. And when Snow's life is threatened by the same evil that murdered his family, Prince Sage must enlist the aid of Snow's brothers to not only help him save her life, but to also regain his rightful place as King of the Vampires.

If Sage can keep the Slayers from killing him first.

For fifty years vampire prince Sageren Son of Lothar, has been in exile from his homeland and his throne. Forced to face his inner demons and the monster he once was, he vows to never drink from humans again. Which is only a mild problem until he runs into a female who makes his fangs ache to drain her.

Lady Snow Gwyn is tired of staying at home to take care of her seven Vampire Slaying brothers, instead of being out with them at night, hunting for bloodsuckers. For the past two years Snow has wanted nothing more than to be out there fighting at their side. But it isn't her place.

So when Snow runs into Sage on a late night trip to the woods, she's torn between the need to kill him and the desire to give in to the feeling he stirs within her. And when the unthinkable happens, Sage must enlist the aid of Snow's brothers to help him not only save her life, but to also regain his rightful place as King of the Vampires.

If only he can keep them from killing him first.

My Thoughts - 5 out of 5 Unicorns - I loved it!!!
***Received a copy of the ebook for an honest review, but I am buying it as soon as I get paid :)

The cover is classic fairytale cover which is retro and coming back in a fierce way with all the fairy tale retellings coming out where authors make them their own!!!

This is book 2 in the Fairelle series. This is for adults due to the steamy scenes and violence. This is a new twist to Snow White which is unique and completely awesome by Rebekah. Her writing pulls you into the story where putting down the book is not an option…though my son does his best ;) Because you are so into the story, it does not seem like 300 pages, this always helps me realize how much I love a story. You know we’ve all read a story that felt like it took us years to read or you give up reading it because it feels that way, but I’m off topic because this story rocks.

Sage is the handsome prince…oh wait he’s a vampire too. He has a past and likes to torture himself about it, but don’t we all. Snow is an innocent, but smart and cunning woman who wants to help her family but longs to be more. Of course my favorites from book 1 make an appearance too :) Adrian and Red with their crews, and Dax is a big part of this book too!!!

I definitely can’t wait to read more of this series!! I like all the fairy tale twists that have made a comeback. I highly recommend this series to those who love fairytales but want them in a new way like the TV show Once Upon a Time, and of course if you liked book 1, you have to keep going because I think it gets better as you go :)

Yes, this is Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs but absolutely not as you know it! I love reading re-imagined versions of fairy tales. And the idea behind this one, Vampires, Weres and Slayers, is a great one. This is actually book two in the Fairelle series. I haven’t read book one and this was still a great read as a stand-alone. I didn’t feel lost at any point, also I felt as far as the story went I could leave it there if I wished. But, I can’t leave it there at all! I’m definitely intending on going back and reading the first book now.

Snow is pretty badass for a ‘proper lady’ Yes she definitely has her fair share of naivety about the world but she adapts pretty darn quickly and surprised me more than a few times with her quick thinking bravery. I’m guessing though, when you’re in a houseful of brothers who are slayers, you pick up a tip or two along the way! Her brothers are typical brothers in the way they can't tidy up after themselves and they give Snow hell, but really that's where the 'typical' ends. They are Vampire Slayers. That is who they are and what they do. Being a Slayer is so much a part of them that there is no way they see vampires in any other light. Slayers kill vampires otherwise the vampires will kill the Slayers.

This of course becomes quite the predicament when Snow bumps into a mysterious stranger, who turns out to be a mysterious vampire stranger. Sage is a Vampire Prince with a price on his head. He needs to focus on taking back his kingdom but he finds himself completely infatuated with Snow instead. Sage is probably one of the most restrained, well mannered vampires I have ever come across. So, it's from here, from their first meeting in the forest, we watch Sage and Snow battle each other, the Slayers, the Vampires and seemingly the whole world whilst they begin a romance unlike any other.

By the time I was getting towards the end of the book I had literally NO idea how anything was going to get resolved. It all seemed completely hopeless. Of course there is a resolution and at first I really wasn't sure how I felt about it... But I can honestly say by the end of the book I really do believe that there was no other way the story could've gone. In this instance, the ending worked perfectly for the characters and their journey. So yes, we get our HEA, with the added bonus of knowing that there is plenty more to come in this world. Plenty more adventures to be had and plenty more stories to be told.

Loved it. Love the new spin on old fairytales. Love Snow. Love Sage. Especially love Sage. He's my new book boyfriend. And Snow's seven brothers... Cannot wait to read their books. Surely they will all get a book?

Seriously, this is a fascinating read. Such imagination, such creativity. I thoroughly enjoyed it. While it had vampires and shifters, it really was very different from any other vamp/shifter book I've read. Not that I didn't adore each and every one of them (I do love paranormal reads), however, I was especially intrigued by the fresh take in this book.

Oh, and I should warn you, there will be a point at which you will not be able to stop reading until the end. So prepare yourself. Literally, I could not imagine how Snow and Sage could possibly find their happily ever after. I had to keep reading.

Now, I must go back and read Red the Were Hunter, because she shows up frequently enough in this book that I want to know her story too.

I received a free copy of this book in exchange for my honest review.

I'm absolutely loving this series. This is the third book I've read (I started with Cinder the Fae) and they have all been fantastic. In Red the Were Hunter we saw Redlynn view Adrian as the enemy, but this book brings it to an entirely different level. After tragedy strikes Snow's family, she is forced to take her brother's place. Unfortunately, this means that she has a crazy drive to kill Sage (and she does try). Her change also makes her smell that much better and become that much more irresistible, sending Sage's instinct to drain her body of blood into overdrive. Add to that that Snow's brothers all think Sage is evil incarnate and you've got a very sticky (and dangerous) situation on your hands. I'll be honest, this book got me emotional and almost had me in tears on multiple occasions. To me, that is a sign of terrific writing and a great story. There are so many characters involved in this book, but Rebekah R. Ganiere doesn't skimp on a single one of them, particularly the protagonists, Sage and Snow. We get to see what is going on within their minds, what makes them tick and what drives them, how they handle conflicting emotions, desires, and instincts within themselves. This book was overall just a wonderful book with a HEA ending with no cliffhanger. (That doesn't mean I'm not itching to get my hands on the next book asap, though, haha.) So, how do mortal enemies designed to kill each other find love? How do these individuals grapple with their instincts and emotions? Well, I suppose you'll just have to read to find out.

I received this book from the author in exchange for an honest review

Snow the Vampire Slayer is an intriguing take on the Snow White fairy tale. Ms. Ganiere had me from the first line of the synopsis. Who wouldn't want to trade dwarves for vampire slaying brothers? Add in an exiled vampire prince, a frustrated Snow, and an amnesiac werebear, and you get the recipe for a sweeping epic tale.

The characters in this novel were really great. Snow is supposed to be a 'proper lady', but I think she may have missed the boat on that one. She's one kickass woman in a man's world. Prone to climbing out her window at night while her brothers are sleeping, she heads into the forest to practice sword fighting. Her brothers are fun characters. Each one had a distinct personality, save the twins and their adorable dual personality.

Sage, the exiled vampire prince. I really liked him a lot. Tough, honorable, and desperately sad for a life stolen from him. Just makes me want to comfort him even though he could kill me with one bite. His attraction and interactions with Snow are not only charming but also sexy. And I loved his sidekick, Dax, the amnesiac werebear trying to uncover his past.

If you like kickass heroines, sexy vampires, studly brother vampire slayers, and adorable sidekicks-- then this is the book for you. Part paranormal, part fantasy, Ms. Ganiere has managed to breathe new life into Snow White.

**I was given an ARC of this book in return of a honest review**

The first thing I would say is do not start this if you are sick and on cold meds. This is not a throw away book. You have to pay attention to the details. And boy are the details good. This story is well crafted I'm a bit jealous of it. The author does an amazing job of sucking you in and immersing you in her world.

The romance between Sage and Snow is sweet and you root for them from the beginning. The secondary characters are fun to interact with and I look forward to seeing them in further adventures.

I will definitely be keeping an eye out for any new books in this series. You should too.

Every year, I give myself a new Christmas ornament that signifies the book series I've become most obsessed with over the last 12 months. Well, it's only April, but I already know what the 2023 ornament is going to be. With book two, Ms. Ganiere has already sealed the deal on my obsession with the kingdom of Fairelle and all who dwell in it--especially this hero and heroine.
Prince Sage is so many of the things that I ADORE in a hero. He's a nobleman who actually knows what the word means, and he's determined to uphold his honor about not drinking blood from humans, even if it means resisting the most delicious one of all: a mysterious and captivating warrioress he meets by the midnight moon in a forest. This first-meet scene gave me all the vibes I had as a child, when watching Sleeping Beauty meet Phillip for the first time--only instead of dancing, Sage and Snow get groovy and sensual with swords and knives.
The story just gets better from there. With twists of mistaken identity, as well as surprise visits from unexpected villains, things just go even more sideways during a battle scene that feels like you're right in the middle of things--yes, including the circumstances that change Snow's fate forever.
I ached and cried and felt ALL THE DAMN THINGS for Snow and Sage through every page of this book, down to the very final seconds in which I really wondered if I was going to get my HEA from these two! Alas, I should've known Ms. Ganiere wouldn't keep me hanging--but holy poisoned apple, Batman, the wait was a CRAZY ride of suspense and truly well-crafted storylines. FAIRELLE FOREVER!

This is the second full story in the Fairelle Saga. Snow lives with her seven brothers and they are vampire slayers. Sage and Dax, from the first story in the series are back. They aligned themselves with Red and the wolves. The first prophecy fulfilled, now the second one is about to be fulfilled, with the vampires. Sage meets Snow on a chance encounter and is very drawn to her. They spend week’s together training and talking. They fall in love with each other. Her brothers have been killing vampires. A couple of them find her hiding place. Sage meets with the slayers to see if he can gain them as allies in taking his throne back. They are attacked by other vampires filled with magic. One of the brothers are killed and Snow inherits the next place as a vampire slayer.

She meets up with Sage and she wants to kill him or make love to him. Sage recognizes the differences in her. She is captured by his enemy. He seeks out her brothers’ help to rescue her. Now, it is up to the brothers’, wolves, Dax and Sage to save her and his kingdom. Can they do it? In a twist of fate, Sage and Snow’s brothers will have to make a life and death decision. What is it? Will the second prophecy be fulfilled? Rebekah Ganiere has added another enthralling book into this series! Cannot wait to read the next…they keep getting better and better! I cannot wait to find out what happens next! I received this book as a gift and am voluntarily leaving a review.

I’m Loving these Fairelle Stories!!

Snow was taught how to fight, but her seven brothers were called to become Slayers so she stays home and cooks and cleans and applies first aid for them. Snow sneaks out at night to cabin she found (and claimed) to practice. When vampire Sage comes upon her he is smitten, and can barely control the bloodlust. Sage, the rightful heir to the throne, has to hide when his family is killed and has not fed from humans for the last 50 years.

Sage’s sidekick is bear-shifter Dax. He does not have a memory of who he is and where he comes from. He had lived with the wolves for years, but now travels with Sage. A complex story of good vs. evil, political rivalries and the possibilities of vampire and slayer working together to fulfill the second prophecy.

Love these characters, the twists and turns, and the sizzle between Snow and Sage combined with the compulsion to kill each other. Entertaining and emotional, overall a terrific read!!

I love this series! It's the perfect amount or paranormal romance and fairytale retelling. I love that this whole series is so intertwined. You don't have to read them in order but you definitely should if you want the whole effect since all of the characters from book 1 are in book 2 and so on. This series kind of reminds me of Kresley Cole's Immortals After Dark series which is one of my all time favorite series but with a fairytale twist. The world building is the same and how the characters all know each other but the focus of each book is a different couple give me the same feel. But the writing style is all different. But if you want a series that is based in one world with shifting main characters, romance, retellings, twists, and action this is definitely a series that you should read!

An amazing read. The story was well developed as was all the characters. Now I have to go back and read book 1. I was amazed at how easily ventured off into this world Rebekah created. I didn't realized it was based on Snow White until later, because it was so well written. You are definitely routing for Sage and Snow to have their HEA. I was sad about Flint. I want to find out, if possible in book one, or maybe the next book, what has caused him so much pain. I really do not have anything significantly negative to say about the story. There were some parts that dragged on in the beginning for me, when the foundation of the story was being mapped out, but they were very few. I highly recommend this story. Wow!

Excellent Excitement

I loved this authors take on Snow white and the seven dwarfs. This book was excitement with each turn of the page and you never knew what was going to happen. There is sadness and surprises around each corner.

You will find yourself laughing and crying as you read along. You might even yell at the author as you read. You cannot help but fall in love with the characters in this book. You can just watch as Sage and Snow fall in love. You can feel that love just drip from the pages.

You can't help but feel for Dax as he tries to remember his life, or for Snow's brothers and the changes that they have to go through.

Until Next Time.... Tabi

This book was so amazing. Book 2's in some series can be kinda boring and more a bridge leaving the reader feeling blah after reading and hoping the next book fills in the that missing piece. Welp not so with this book. It picks up some years after book one. While starting a new story that was completely wonderful to read. What a spin on Snow and the seven . One can not ask for more with this book. But it also still connects characters from the first with some quick lil updates in their story. My longing the for next book, is not what was missing in this one, but what twist she will create with the next fairy telle.

This is book two of the Fairelle series of fairytale retellings, and I'm LOVING them! A magical retelling of Snow White, with a kick-a$$ Snow, this book is an awesome read! I'm not going to spoil it by telling you what happens - I HATE spoilers and you can get a good preview in the blurb at the top of the page - but I will just say that if you like your stories with tension, drama, fairytale characters seen in a whole new way (including kicka$$ women who don't need a Prince to rescue them!), a bit of love and sprinkling of magic, this book (and series!) is definitely one for you! I loved it, and can't wait to read the next one!

This was a fantastic reboot of a classic fairy tale! Snow White and her seven brothers as vampire slayers was a super nifty role switch. Then there's the rebellious vampire prince fighting against his wicked aunt and uncle, and the shifters..who became the prince's allies from the first book about Red Riding Hood and the wolves.. I enjoyed so much about this book! Strong characters, betrayals, prophecies, romance, and action! A great mix of fantasy and romance, the Fairelle series is quite addictive and very engaging!

Love this series by Rebekah R Ganiere! I truly enjoyed the first in the series but this story was even better. Filled with supernatural creatures such as vamps, werewolves, and others. I was truly invested in the characters and interested in what happens in their lives. The characters all had different personalities, my favorites were Sage and Snow. I I love how the stories unfold and how each one is about a prophecy. I can’t wait to read the third book in this series...I’m sure it will be even better.

Not a bad storyline, the follow through is still not there. The female character who is supposed to be strong with a backbone has more moments of whininess than being a strong lead. The idea of these books are great, but they’re not written by someone I personally feel is well equipped , I really don’t know how it scored so high. I will continue to read the series because I do want to see where it’ll go but Like this one and the last one I have a feeling the follow through is going to fall short.

I will admit I cried twice reading this story. This is a twist on Snow White. Snow is as beautiful as ever and has seven men she lives with. They also happen to be her brothers and vampire slayers. The prince is Sage and is more of a rake than charming. The evil queen is actually more evil and dangerous. Add in lots of vampires, werewolves and a werebear and you have a story that will bring death and betrayal. Not everyone always gets a happily ever after. Expect plenty of fighting and romance.

Although I haven't gotten very far into this series, this book is my favorite. I love Snow, and I love her man! Who is he? Well, he's my favorite character in the series so far, and we met him in the first book. But I'm not giving away any spoilers, so read this one, and you'll know! I've always loved vampires, been interested in how authors change the lore to suit their books and needs, and have always enjoyed Rebekah's ways of using vampire lore to create her own worlds. This is a great example of just one of those uses! And I can't wait for the next in line! :-)

Love this series...makes fairy tales worth reading again.

December 2, 2018

Out of all of them, Snow is the strongest . She is fierce. The author draws you into the characters like you're right there cheering them on. Sage can't help being drawn to Snow, he tries to let her go and protect her but they are soulmates The fear of losing her and the pain he suffers rips your heart out. On the edge of my seat until the end rooting for them. Can hardly wait for the next one...

An interesting retelling of Snow White. It has a perfect mix of paranormal and fairy tale. I loved that her love of birds was included by having her visit the aviary. I enjoyed the vampire slaying brothers and how protective they are of her. I loved and hated the ending, very well done. I also enjoyed the persistence Sage had in protecting and showing snow he cared for her. Overall, it was a great book that draws you in and makes you want to find out where the story is going. I highly recommend this book, especially if you enjoy different takes on fairy tales. I received a copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.

I love Rebekah's books. She has an amazing talent for writing a book that draws you in to her world and you don't want to leave. Snow is a strong and brave. She has seven brothers, and the last thing she needs is an alpha male trying to protect her. Then enter Sage. At first Sage only wants revenge and to regain control of his kingdom, but he starts wanting her more. Join them on their adventure to see what happens.

The characters make the story. In Snow the Vampire Slayer by Rebekah R. Ganiere, these characters are solid and so alive, which is odd in that they are mostly vampires. This is book 2 in the series and it was terrific to see the prophesies come together. This one had been misinterpreted for so very long. I am certainly looking forward to more.

I loved this story was a truly inventive twist of a fairytale. Sage and Snow truly overcome amazing odds proving love can conquer all. There were quite a few plot twist that keep you hanging on and I loved the reference regarding mirrors. As usual the author packed this book full of action and has an engrossing way of telling her stories.

Wicked

I am loving this twist on fairy tales and giving it a wicked flare! Wicked in a good way! So intriguing! We've had Red Riding Hood and now Snow (White). The overall storyline just keeps getting better as we tackle a new layer in the plot with all the prophesies to discover. I love meeting all these new characters and seeing how they are all tangled together.

It's Snow and Sage's turn. Vampires and Slayers. Betrayal, death, slaying, love. This Fairelle novel has it all.

Sage has been in exile for 50 years since his father was killed. Will be be able to claim his birthright?

Great book for those of us adults that love the new twist to our fairy tales.
