I am a big fan of zombie stories and I have to say that All Things Zombie: The Gathering Horde is one of the best anthologies I have read! With thirty three different stories by thirty three different authors you are sure to find a story that you will love. I have tried to come up with just one story to say it was my favorite but to me it wasn’t possible. Every story is unique in itself! Each author that contributed to this amazing book has his or her own writing style that drew me in at the beginning of the story and kept me on the edge of my seat until the end. I love to have a book with short stories for those times I am waiting in the doctor’s office or in between books when I’m not sure what I’m going to read next and need a filler and when I bought this book, I thought that’s what I would do…keep it for those “in between times” but once I started reading the first story, I whipped right through all of the rest so fast because they were that good! I want to say Thank you to each of the authors for a very entertaining…amazing…totally engrossing book. I will definitely be looking for more stories by these wonderful authors in the future!

I loved this book, my story is one of the 33 included, and ya know i think it holds up well enough in there.

There are some truly excellent stories within this book from some great authors.

The greatest thing about this book is that all the stories have the theme zombies, but it shows truly how multi-faceted the zombie genre is, these are tales of survival, despair, love, hatred, betrayal and so many other emotions. Every single story evokes emotion and in less than approx 2000 words you can either read it non stop, or dip in and out for a few minutes at a time.

Love it.

All Things Zombie (The Gathering Horde) is hands down one of the best zombie anthologies I've ever read. This book has 33 authors and about as many stories inside, created hours of really pleasurable reading for me.

I really enjoyed all of the stories in this book, it was hard to tell the armatures from the pro's, but I am going to highlight the stories that really gave me that extra special something. I go nuts over reading that isn't typical and moves me in some way, be it disturbing or laugh out loud hilarity, I'm all about it. These writers gave it to me.

SEVEN MINUTES IN HELL by Jack Wallen

This is a story from the POV of teens post apocalypse, they have become very desensitized to the violence and horror of a world where the dead walk and cannibalize the living. They play dangerous games of life and death and one kid get more than he bargained for when entering into a particularly nasty dare called Seven minutes in hell.
This story kept me on the edge of my seat (as most of them did) hanging on to every word and wondering what was going to become of this unfortunate youth. a gag worthy nail biter without a doubt.

ONE LAST GAME by Jeff Clare and Justin Dunne

This one takes place at the start of the zombie take over. It puts you right in the thick of it with two brothers trying to make their way out of a very hairy situation. The story is told in away that allows you understand who the zombies where in their lives and what they meant to the brothers, they did it in a way that didn't effect the fast pace of the story and it was very gripping. This was just beautiful story telling, that's the best way I can describe it.
When your reading a zombie story and you feel tears behind your eyes... The writers did something right.

CRAWLSPACE by Eric Shelman

Crawlspace is told from the perspective of a 13 year old girl hiding under the house with her little brother. You get to experience the entire story from under the house waiting for their mother and listening to the horror unfolding quietly above them. This one made me scream in my head. I was reading with a lump in my throat and I keep saying to myself this is more than a zombie book somehow.

There was quite a few stories of children in parole, which tugs at my heart strings and makes me crazy all by itself.

THE DEAD DON'T BLEED by Eila Oakes

I was so happy to see that Eila Oakes was a part of this because I'm already a fan of her work, not surprised I loved her story yet again. The dead don't bleed takes place in the middle of the outbreak, it's the journey of a brother and sister trying desperately to make their way to Montana in hopes of meeting up with their father. This story is all about the journey and the relationships formed along the way. High tension and great characters.

SHATTERED by Giles Batchelor

A story about a man and his 5 year old daughter trying to survive the zombie apocalypse with no one but each other. His attempts to try and protect her and make her feel as safe as he can, his selflessness, and the dynamic of their relationship feels very real.

I lack the patience to write a long rambling review. I think you can see how excited I am about this book "The List" by Shannon Walters was another awesome story, "Looking For a Friend" by Greg P. Ferrell was very unexpected to me and I thought it was so cool "Endings" by Lana Sibley depicts a woman facing the apocalypse on the heels of the most horrible break-up of her life with only her tiny dog Fancy to lean on. Lana is hilarious with this story. very entertaining.

I wish I could get to more of the stories I enjoyed so much, but as I earlier stated, this book is chucked with tale after tale and they're all good. I've been reading good reviews for this book all over the place and the hype is all true. I read it twice.

I just had to grab this book first Thing in the morning(well ist saturday so first Thing was about 9 am)
Being a ATZ(All things Zombie Facebook group) member i feel like i was part of the birth of this book, reading the comments posted in our litle group . Noticing the struggle that the persons that submitted there work went true. I did Keep my fingers crossed for each one of them
I confess that i did play favorites and started reading some of my online friends stories, because i was very interested to see what the ''normal people'' that i somehow feel that i know, even if they are manny miles away writhe. No offense, to the well known authors here, i also love there storys, only if you are familiars with the work of some of the big names, you can feel the signature on the short Story. Dont gett me wrong, i did not skipp the short story of Jack Wallen / 7 Minutes in Hell, it was just genius, and i would have recognized Eric A. Shelmans Story even if his name where not be mentioned.
As promissed on Facebook i started reading Shannon Walters Story first , and i must confess that i am in ave, i knew that she has a sharp sense of humor and wit , but this story was so much more that i expected. Afther reading Shannons story i jumped directly to R.C Martines story, and i was not dissapointed, Ramona is the cool mom that i expected her to be, a match for Residents Evil Alice ! Well, there are manny more, but i just wanted to point out a few ideas. Rebecca story was so sad and heart warming, it had a new perspective.
I hope the people that i did not mentioned will excuse me, it not that i did not liked there story, ist only that each one of them are like the starting point for a bestseller novel , if you have so much zombie awesomeness on your Hands ist hard to choose and single out only one story that is your favorite.
This books is not only for the people that love zombies and horror stories, ist a great read for each one that loves a great story.
I do hope that this book will be a great succes and that from her pages some new stars will rise

This book is a compilation of zombie-themed short stories. Some of the authors already have a few books or more under their belt and some, like me, just got lucky enough to scribble a well-liked tale that made the cut. I bought the book and read it in one sitting. Since I was only one of 33 stories, I had a lot to read. As I read, it occurred to me that although there were zombies, and great doses of fear, these weren’t just scary stories. They were tales of survival, love, fear, and the consequences of decisions no one ever wants to make…the zombies? They were really just background noise. The true stars of these stories are the people. This isn’t just a book for people who love the zombie genre; it truly has appeal across many genres. There is something for everyone here. Enjoy.

I'm a stalker of Author Jack Wallen, and this is how I get to this book...I bought it and read it in one night, this only happens when the book is good, and this one it's EXCELLENT!!
It was a very smart move of the editor, starting the book with such a hopeful story, but the hope ends there, every following story it's more scariest, brutal and emotional.
I love the diversity of the authors and the different points of view, the stories are full of gore, emotions, bad decisions, good decisions, some of they left me pretty depressed, and I love that!!!! I love when the book left you with so many questions!
A plus is the price!!! 2.99 for such a master piece??? So many talented authors, this is a must read!!!!
Go grab yours... Now!!

I really hate giving Chris Philbrook a 1 star as I loved his other series. But this compilation of short stories was unreadable. I abandoned it half way through. I highly recommend Adrian’s Undead Army - still one of my all-time favorite apocalyptic series!

There are a lot of wonderful stories in this collection but the poor editing takes away from them in many places.
