This just didn’t feel worthwhile to me. It’s the same recycled storyline: damaged man, damaged women, everybody lying but swearing it’s some deep, profound soul connection. None of the characters really took time to learn each other, so all the "soul tied" talk felt hollow. The frequent “good hair” comments had me side-eyeing the author a bit, and the messy pregnancy plotline didn’t help. Like… unprotected sex multiple times, no birth control, no plan B, no clinic visit, nothing just a dummy with a belly full of baby. It was frustratingly careless.
Overall, I’ve read this story so many times, and without any fresh elements or emotional depth, it just felt boring. I also hate when an ex is written to be unhinged out of nowhere Paxton supposedly can’t let go of Jermany, but we barely even see them together No real connection, no deep backstory, and yet he’s spiraling and harassing her? If you’re gonna paint a picture, paint it. Cus the whole they were BFFs turned lovers and he turned cheater but can’t leave Jermany alone is just not giving. Especially once you added the granny’s perspective like oh yall was just wasting time.
And don’t get me started on the love triangle (or square?) it gave absolutely nothing. There has to be some real tension, chemistry, something for that dynamic to work. Majesti doesn’t even seem to like one of the guys, hates his mom, and vice versa, so why is she still entertaining it? It just made her seem unlikeable and hard to root for. Romello’s dynamic had a little more nuance, but even that fell flat because of all the vague communication and unnecessary lies (Ole I can’t tell you the truth cus I have to protect myself… OKAY SO THEN LEAVE MAJESTI ALONEEEEE

Childhood trauma is never good as it can hinder you as adults! Sometimes the least expected be the one you live can’t without. The things we do for family can be the biggest downfall. I am my Brother Keeper! Let’s chat!
Jermany was that girl who just wanted to live her to the fullest. The way she cared a heavy heart but remain strong was everything to me 🥰! Her love for family especially her mother was beautiful. Then you got her & Majesti who are thick as thieves🥰! These two have each other’s back like no other. Though this is fictional, it hit home as I’m the only child with my mother. If anything happens to that woman I would be lost but strong in honor of her😔🥹! The way she held her head high and keep pushing, going to school and work was honorable! One thing for sure she didn’t allow you to play with or her feeling and Paxton seen that first hand🤭. She dropped her like bad habit but when ole girl tried to play her, she got them hands that I just knew my girl had! Like stop playing with her🤣! Beside her concern and worry of her mother, the last thing she need was an arrogant donkey to cause her issues but he had other plans - Romel🤭! The way this man cause issue from jump had me irritated with him too 🤭! Not only did he bother her at one job, he decide to bother at her 2nd job that he happens to own😔! Like are you cool my guy🤣! Oh but what I didn’t expect was the chemistry between the two but it’s there! My only concern is his lies. What is he expecting to happen once the truth is out. The way this ended seems as if it about to told🫣!
Romel has a troubled soul and has never dealt with his trauma. Something wrong with ya boy🫣 but honestly I think it more of his childhood that’s holding him back. He has been through it and at an early age. The one thing you can’t ignore is the love he has for his mother and twin🥰 but unable to really show it! The wall he has up and the ice around his heart is like no other! The one thing I love was the connection he had with his twin Romello! The head to head communication was the sweetest action to me🥰! The protection of his daughter is up there! After finding what his grandmother has been doing by dropping her off for someone to watch her had him looking at her sideways, however, he wasn’t expecting it to be with the family of the only woman that takes over his thoughts - Jermany🤭! Unsure on what it may truly be but I know for sure Jermany is his calm & Peace! Ya boy don’t know how to react as these feelings he has are some he has NEVER experienced! Oh but truth he’s holding is able to shake every thing up and he not ready🫣!
Majesti, my girl is something else but one this for sure she’s real and don’t bite her tongue with or for no one. My girl is in a relationship with a mark who can’t get from under his mother - Julius. It’s something about him I just don’t like 🤣! The way he pushing her to bond with his mother is not sitting right with me, like something is off and I need to know. Oh but she wasn’t ready for a night out to turn into more than just a one night stand with a man that’s staking claim off top - Romello🥰! My girl wasn’t ready but she got ready! I love a woman who knows her worth and Majesti was one of them. The way she let it be know that she will NOT play second to anyone🤏🏾🤏🏾! What she was ready for was the pressure Romello was bring cause he wasn’t coming off of her! She tried but failed cause the way this ended just drop a secret that not even she was aware of🫣!
Romello was the nice twin and open to love! Though he had family obligations, he was against them. My guy wanted to move off of his own drum and find the one for on his own🥰. See he was the complete opposite of his twin who went long with the rule of the family and settled . He was his brother keeper and worried about him at the same😒. Though he don’t know exactly what his brother has went through but he knows whatever it is changed him at a young age😒! Outside of family and business, love is something he wants to experience but wasn’t expecting it fall in lap at Trouble in Myamii - Majesti! Let just say that I love the name of the club/lounge 🥰! This man is unhinged as there is no way that off top he was taking claim and stood 10 toes down behind it 🤣. My girl Majesti was it for him and was going to do anything to get it and delay the family obligations or so he thought🤭! I want to know how he ended up in her house that one time 🤣 cause at NO way🤣! Oh but my girl in trouble now cause only did everything crumb, he over heard her secret and claimed it. Doing this is going to cause more issue and I’m here for it!
Jazzie did that with this read. The character development was 🔥 and I love it. This is my third sees by author and she has yet to disappoint. Oh can I say how I love that Story and Mercy are in this read! Loved their series down, so having an update on them is what I needed. Book 2 here I come!

I can’t even lie. I was hesitant about this book despite some of the reviews I read. (I’m just hesitant about trying out new-to-me authors in general.) But when I read the first two pages of the first chapter, I said “oh this is my kinda carrying on” and I was sold lol.
“Soul Ties with a Cold Hearted Savage” is told in first person and follows four view points—twins, Romel/Trouble and Romello/Shyne, and cousins, Jermany/Mani and Majesti. Overall, I liked it and it kept me engaged. I also liked how the main characters were basically less than six degrees of separation from one another but didn’t initially know that.
While I liked the storyline, I didn’t necessarily care for how it was written. It wasn’t terribly written or anything like that. The writing style is just very descriptive and dives into things that aren’t really necessary for the plot, and I don’t really care for that type of writing. I’m very much a “get-to-the-point” type of reader. Needless to say, I skimmed a little when things got over explanatory.
As for characters, I was really into Shyne and Majesti’s story. I liked that they were pretty much instalove, and Shyne was trying find a way to make things work between them. I wanted to be into Trouble and Mani’s story just as much and as fast but Trouble kept pissing me off. That 🥷🏾 was rude af. I eventually came around to liking Trouble and Mani together though. Him trying to be vulnerable was cute.
Two other characters who are mentioned a lot are Story and Mercy. I assume they were the main couple in a previous book? There wasn’t really an introduction. Story was name dropped and eventually we learn that she’s Majesti’s boss and Mercy is her husband. Much later a character breaks the fourth wall and name drops a book that I assume is about Story and Mercy.
And the twins’ grandma is wild bro. When the surprise that involves her happened at the end, I literally said, “IKYFL!” 😂😂 Maaannnn 😂😂😂 I’m so happy I’m late to the game, so I can just dive straight into book two. I don’t like how this one basically ends on a cliffhanger.
Oh! Another thing. Continuity isn’t a consistent thing in this book. I just started ignoring the inconsistencies to get through the book. Which, I’m pretty sure Quinzell and Julius are the same person. It’s mentioned that Majesti has been dealing with her high school sweetheart, Quinzell, on and off for years but we only ever hear about her interactions with Julius.

I need the next book to drop asap. We got twin brothers whose father was Russian. Their life of who they would marry was already set. One twin was married and the other was set to be married. That mafia life is crazy. Shout out to the grandma she came through for the other twin so he wasn’t forced to be married. Those twins were like day and night. It’s crazy that in the mist of the chaos they found somebody they liked. I’m enjoyed the heck out of this story man. Page turner and I can’t wait until she drop part two. If you like mafia books that goes beyond arranged marriages this is the one for you.

Romel is caught up cause how you didn't tell Jermany that you were married?! At this rate Mani is going to be so guarded because the men she likes keep lying to her. So glad Romello didn't have to get married, now he needs to wife Majesti and live happily ever after with their child because it's definitely his, he hit raw twice. I'm willing to bet the child was conceived the first time they did the horizontal tango. This was definitely 5/5, a little upset at the cliffhanger though.

Okay. So I stalled reading this because I don’t do well with cliffys. Lol but I took the chances and wrote some notes in my journal to keep up for the next book. It was well worth it. I knew Majesti ass was pregnant. Now who the papi??! I found it absolutely adorable how the twins would lean on each others foreheads for their own silent communication. Only they knew what that meant. So wait, was Shiloh sleeping with a stud lol. I wonder was it Marshay 😂 and was that Shyne’s plan all along to get out the marriage. That would be a great checkmate! Just when trouble was getting a lil soft the book ended. But I can’t wait to see a softer side of him, that mf mean!

Family ties and real menaces
This book is so good. I love how the twin brothers are close and don’t play about each other. Trouble and shine are really just what they are menaces and cold as can be. Now I miss. Jazz has done her big one with this series. Because gangster grandma is a whole lesbian, but she don’t play about her grand boys and then we have Jeremy who Trouble is in love with but because of he and his brother, daddy side, they are committed to marry other women which they don’t agree with so now the real is about to begin love this book

I'd love reading book 😍
I think this is my first time reading something by this author. Wow, I'm really hooked after this first read. I'm loving this book—the characters, the story. It's just great. The Volkov brothers are twins, and they totally own the game. Then you have the ladies, close cousins Jermany and Majesti. The surprises are endless. The author does such an amazing job of bringing all the characters together. It's so smooth, just wonderful. Can't wait to read book two in this series!

Omg this series is gonna be lit. My twins got a lot of stuff going on. My girl cousins can't seem to shake the twins. I hope trouble can kick his wife to the curb cause she seems messy. Babygirl Mona loves herself some mani. Ok, now it's really not to go down. U did good on yet another book and I'm looking forward to reading more of them. Sitting here patting my feet while sipping on Pepsi and while eating popcorn while waiting on the next book to read

Rules Are Not Always Good

The straw that broke the camel back for me was the plug of another book inside the middle of a chapter. I read because I want to be pulled into another world. And too often certain things in this book would pull me out of the story. The back and forth, half of the book was literally running in circles.

I was on the fence with romel pretty much the whole book but he definitely won me over.now he knows mani not staying with him when she find out he married. Majestic pregnant lawd she stuck with shyne. I love these characters and can't wait for part 2

I really enjoyed this books it was great balance between building the world and the characters. I love a story with great steam, great drama and FMC with personal life goals and striving for better not chasing a man. And MMC who have some brains and decisions to make!

This is a good quickly read. But something about the story threw me off. Since it left me with a cliff hanger, I guess I will read the rest of the series and see what happens next. Maybe the stories will get better. Hopeful much🙂!
