Commit to Love

Rate this book
Phoebe Hartley has spent years making sure her life is exactly the way she likes it—predictable, steady, and blissfully free of unnecessary complications. Running Doughlicious, the bakery she co-owns with her best friend, Daisy, gives her everything she needs. It’s safe. It’s comfortable and most importantly, it’s completely drama-free.

Then there is Max Monroe, Daisy’s globe-trotting, impossibly charming brother, who breezes in and out of town like he owns the place and worse, like he owns her attention.

Once upon a time, they went on one date. Just one. And then, true to form, Max took off again, chasing another adventure.

But now he’s back.

And this time he’s staying, or so he swears.

With a nosy best friend, her overprotective tattoo-artist fiance, one very intimate bakery freezer incident, Max and Phoebe will have to figure out if love is worth the risk, or if it’s just another detour.

After all, some people are made for leaving.

And others?

They just need the right reason to stay.

Angelique Bosman published her debut novel in May 2019 after finally trading procrastination for plot twists. Since then, she’s released more books, including the romantic comedy Swipe To Love, which has left readers laughing out loud and swiping right on love.

She’s a confessed pen hoarder, part-time daydreamer, and firm believer that writer’s block was probably her invention. A big fan of cheesy romance films, Angelique has been known to swoon unapologetically over Ryan Gosling scenes and happily ever after.

Her writing blends sweet romance with humor. Whether she’s curled up with a coffee and a good book or brainstorming the next chaotic scenario for her characters, storytelling is her happy place.

Phoebe and Max have such a realistic connection. I felt for Phoebe as she worked through her feelings when it came to Max and his intentions and what could be. I also love that we get to see more of some of our previous character friends throughout this story. Angelique has created a world I’m happy to live in- these characters continue to feel like good friends!

Phoebe is baker who loves her home town and content.
Max is a photographer who never stays, always on the go to the next opportunity where his work takes hi.

Max and Phoebe have been friends until that day they went on a date, sparks happened and then Max left, as always.
Until Max returns...

There's so much uncertainty. The air basically was thick with everything unsaid between these two.
Max now has a choice between leaving again or staying for everything that matters.
Phoebe needs to decide will she break the 'temporary' wall in front of her heart down or will she erect a permanent wall.

Angelique definitely stole my heart with the imagery. I felt like the comedy fall a bit short in this book.

Favorite lines:
✍🏼"I've always liked him. Always hoped, in the quiet corners of my heart, that one day he'll see me the way I see him."
AND THEN ⬇️
✍🏼"And then Phoebe happened. Or, more accurately, I finally saw her. Really saw her."

If you're fond of all things sweet, both literally and figuratively, this is for you.

Thank you Angelique Bosman for this ARC for my honest review.

"It isn’t just about putting down roots. It’s about proving, maybe to her, maybe to myself, that I’m not just passing through."

This little novelette was a poetic, sweet second chance romance. The push and pull... Will it hurt? Will he stay? Will she understand? Will she say yes? The story reads almost like a stream of consciousness punctuated with short bursts of conversations. I really liked that flow and the style was very pleasing as a reader.

For a shorter story, almost two years pass, and the author does this well. There are projects and events that take up the space without having to manufacture an unnatural way to speed things along. The pacing actually felt quite relaxed, and I enjoyed Max and Phoebe's path to HEA.

I received a complimentary copy of the author's story to read and review. All thoughts contained here are my own.

My favorite of the series—hands down!

Commit to Love is everything I wanted and more. Max Monroe completely stole my heart, he is cocky, confident, charming, and unapologetically bold. I was hooked from the very first chapter and found myself laughing out loud more than once (that bakery freezer scene! iconic).

It feels like a perfect "season 2" to Inked to Love, but with even more heart and humor. Phoebe’s steady, no-nonsense life crashing into Max’s whirlwind energy made for the best kind of slow-burn tension.

The ending? Absolutely perfect.
This is, without a doubt, the best book in the series ... funny, romantic, and full of all the right feels.

If you're a fan of second-chance romance with banter, bold heroes, and big heart, this one's a must-read. 💕

A sweet and entertaining small-town romance that was a joy to read. Ms. Bossman tells us a story filled with angst and banter but most of all a chemistry that is hard to ignore.
Max and Phoebe had one night, he disappeared because of his job, and is now back; however, Phoebe is not singing his praises. There is a love to hate relationship happening but Max is determined to change all that. Trust is the one thing that she is dealing with and it is going to take something big for her to trust again.
There were so many scenes that had me smiling and wanting to see if Max was going to win over her heart.

This was such a sweet love story. I fell in love with Max’s character in Inked to Love, and couldn’t wait to read the next book.
Phoebe and Max belong together. The slow burn, missed kisses are chefs kiss. They are so cute, you can’t help but smile.

When Max realized what he was feeling, there was no stopping him from getting his girl. I absolutely love these two together.

Also, if you love Jack and Daisy, you get to learn more of their story as well.

I really loved this one, highly recommend if you are looking for a sweet, no spice love story. The entire series is wonderful.

I really enjoyed Phoebe and Max's story. She's Daisy's bestie and works in the bakery with her. Max is Daisy's brother who is notorious for never staying in one place for long. Can things work between them? Will Phoebe give Max a chance to show her that he wants her in his life and he wants to stay this time? Commit to love is a feel good book that will leave you smiling after you've read it. I also loved all the cute quotes at the beginning of each chapter.

Thanks to the lovely author Angelique Bosman for sending me an eARC copy of her book.

Great short read about facing what truly matters in life and taking risks. Well written with characters, both main and supporting, that are realistic and people you want to hang out with. It's book 3 in the To Love series, but I read this first without a problem. Will definitely be reading the other books!

A really good clean romance. Phoebe is a baker and has been in love with Max, her business partner's brother, for a long time. Max is a videographer who travels the world doing commissions. Their HEA is not to be missed.

They were friends becoming more then that, then he left now he's back. Will she eventually let him come back into her life or will she keep him at arms length? Read to find out. This is a cite story. Angelique does it again with another 5 star!! Love the banter between these two!!

I absolutely loved this book! The blurb in the beginning of the book was something I really enjoyed. The story flowed easily and the writer’s humor is always a highlight for me. The ending was different but perfect for the book. Highly recommended read!
