1953年出生於神奈川縣橫濱市。為日本曹洞宗僧侶(日本古剎建功寺第18代住持)、庭園設計師、多摩美術大學環境設計學科教授。

透過以禪思想與日本傳統文化為基礎之「禪庭」創作活動,獲得日本以及世界各地高度評價,當代日本枯山水的主要人物。

藝術選獎文部大臣新人賞中,首次以庭園設計師身份獲獎。2005年自加拿大政府獲頒加拿大總督褒章(Meritorious Service Medal),2006年獲得德國聯邦共和國功勞勳章功勞十字小級章。同年獲選為「News Week」日本版雜誌「世界上受尊敬的100位日本人」之一。主要作品為,加拿大東京大使館、CERULEAN TOWER東急酒店日本庭園等。

與草間彌生、野口勇等藝術家齊名,為日本當代景觀設計界三傑之一。

The core message of this book is very simple: everything depends on how you think about it. According to the author, your thoughts can turn things into worries—or let them pass by without much trouble. Of course, actually doing that is the hard part.

It’s a gentle reminder rather than something groundbreaking, but it made me pause and reflect on my own mindset. Sometimes, just being reminded that perspective matters is enough.
