“Hudgins is a Horror-Meister to reckon with!”
—Victor Miller, Writer of Friday the 13th

BARRICADE EVERY WINDOW. BOLT EVERY DOOR. SKI MASK WON'T DIE.

A savage killer who loves animals, Ski Mask bows to no one, slaughtering through blood-soaked shadows with lethal precision. A volatile experiment by Dr. Franklin Grimm and his father Alfred grants Ski Mask multiple lives, making him a near-unstoppable force. But Alfred’s demand for Franklin’s focus—over his obsession with the Madisonville asylum—risks unraveling the science sustaining him.

As the asylum’s feared security chief, Ski Mask stalks its dark corridors, crushing all who defy him. A local hero enlists him to pierce a deadly conspiracy behind a guarded wooden door. A preteen girl’s cryptic mission hurls him into a savage, unseen world. When a dangerous asylum escapee threatens chaos, Ski Mask wades through society’s hellish underbelly to hunt them down. Each task tests his extra lives to the limit.

Claire, caretaker of his beloved animals, haunts his thoughts, her growing role in his missions and the Grimms’ experiment threatening to crack his killer’s focus. Can he trust her enough to let her in, or will her pull be his undoing?

The gripping second book in the Maniac on the Loose series, 9 Lives of Ski Mask weaves a relentless, twist-fueled thriller that seizes you until the final page.

I did not enjoy the Ski Mask backstory and glow-up as much as I enjoyed the content of the first book. As a result I have no desire to finish the series.

Began listening to it straight after book 1 and finished it last night
I enjoyed Ski Masks back story but of course it was left on a cliff hanger so will definitely be finishing book 3

I had to go straight onto this one since I read the first one.

This time we see what happened with Ski Mask, Dr Grimm and Claire before the escaped killer in the previous book. A prequel if you will. This time some challenges for Ski Mask occur and some things you wouldn't expect from a menace of a man.

I thoroughly enjoyed it! Loved it. The story characters and plot was great. I Was excited to keep reading. I'm excited for the third and final installment.

Nine Lives of Ski Mask continues where Maniac in the Shadows ended. Ski mask has agreed to become a test subject for a life line experiment being conducted by Dr. Grimm. While working as a fixer for a local PI, Ski Mask tests the reliability of the new life line experiment in true Ski Mask fashion. Throughout the book we see the contradiction that is Ski Mask. One side being a horrifying monster with a hair trigger temper, the other being a compassionate man, sharing his home with a large menagerie of rescued animals, and the animals’ caretaker, Claire. I liked Claire’s character. She added a grounding stability to Ski Mask, but how long can that last when dealing with a maniac? Can’t wait for volume 3!
