It's gone. It's all gone. Unable to return home, having to rely on the kindness of strangers, and lost without her Familiar, Ellie has to learn to stand on her own two feet. Cape Cod has much to offer in the secret magical community, but is Ellie really ready to learn the depths of betrayal and lies she's been fed her entire life? Are Guides real or just a legend told to kids in Oren to make them behave? Is Louie ever coming back?
I’ve been captivated by storytelling since my teenage years. This passion culminated into my debut novel, Drawing From the Void, a YA fiction novel about a girl who embarks on a magical journey of self-discovery. My writing is heartfelt, encouraging readers to nurture meaningful relationships, embrace imperfections, and find magic in everyday life.
I was born and raised in the Adirondack Mountains. Now, I reside in Maine, with my husband and our spoiled cats. By day, I work in Human Resources, but by night, I bring my imagination to life, crafting magical stories that reveal wonder in the mundane. Inspired by nature and driven by a passion for animals, my creative voice shines in both my work and my life.
I have volunteered in wildlife rehabilitation, bottle-feeding porcupines, hand-feeding owlets, and even being bitten by a duck along the way. Outside of writing, my creativity extends to hobbies like gardening, drawing, crocheting, and making up songs about my cats.
Believing in the power of words to create change, my approach to writing and life is best described by Dr. Seuss in The Lorax: “Unless someone like you cares a whole awful lot, nothing’s going to get better. It’s not.” I hope my storytelling reflects the power of kindness and the impact of small but meaningful actions.
So much of this book is inside of the leads head, to the point it's frustrating. It's heavy on dialogue insertions and recalls, constant emotional upheaval, and just existing in the day to day. The pacing drags as nothing truly happens other than mourning the end of the last novel and italicized breaks in conversation of either her own thoughts or Louie's remebered voice.
I would have loved if the story advanced further enough to keep my attention, but this one just wasn't doing it for me.

I received a complimentary advanced reader copy. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
This one starts exactly where Book 1 leaves you—right in the bitterness of loss. And honestly? It hurts. Ellie is grieving her Familiar, Louie… and I felt every bit of that ache with her. I mean—who wouldn’t? Louie is easily one of the sweetest hounds I’ve ever read about. Losing him felt personal. The first few chapters? Painful. I just hurt for Ellie. No wonder the cover says it all 😭 And if I’m being honest—I miss Louie just as much. Gah 😫 As the story unfolds, we’re carried into Ellie’s “new life,” and there’s this quiet, lingering melancholy that doesn’t just disappear. It sits with you. You sit with her. And the entire time, I found myself begging the void—literally begging—for Louie to come back in any magical way possible. I still have hope. I refuse to let it go. Thankfully, there’s a softness that comes in through the new family she finds. They’re warm, kind, and honestly adorable—exactly what she (and we) needed. That balance matters. Because without them, it would have been heartbreak on top of heartbreak. Instead, their presence gently eases the weight of her loss, even if it never fully disappears. And then there are the lines in this book… wow. “Soulmates mean something different to different people.” This? This was the cutest definition of a soulmate 💛😭🙌 “Even when they are just irritating as all hell… you still want them. You choose them every day.” That kind of love—the choosing, over and over again, even on the hard days? Beautiful. “Marriage is beautiful. I just don’t think it’s necessary in all cases. Each love is unique and different.” There’s something so honest and freeing about that perspective. This book doesn’t just tell a story—it makes you feel it. Deeply. It’s tender, emotional, and quietly powerful in the way it explores grief, love, and finding light again in unexpected places. Get yourself a copy. Don’t wait 🙌 And if you’ve read it already… tell me—are we getting Louie back or are we all just suffering together? 😭
I cried, I laughed, I swore and I screamed. Book 1 was thrilling, this one was more emotional, sad and cosy. Peaceful and an ever lurking danger cleverly humming in between the pages. Truly incredible.
After the heart wrenching end of Drawing from the Void, I had to start Return to the Void immediately! Ellie has to navigate her new life while grieving Louie. While everything is a struggle, she’s lucky to have some great friends and family to help her out. Throughout the book, Ellie is shocked by various discoveries about her past, her family, and her powers. I couldn’t put the book down because I just had to see how she handled each new discovery and I couldn’t wait to see what she learned next! If you enjoyed Drawing from the Void, you’ll love this one. Waiting for the next book in the series is going to be a struggle for sure!
A tale of loss, love, hope, and finding yourself when you least expect it. This is the second book of the Channeling the Void series and I loved it as much as the first! A whimsical, cozy read with lovable characters, witchy magic, and some twists you won’t see coming! You’ll laugh, cry, cheer, and have to pick your jaw off the floor. For fans of Drawing from the Void, you will love this next installment of Ellie’s journey, learning to navigate unfamiliar situations while being there for the people she loves. This is a fantastic series so far and I can’t wait to see what happens next!
I loved this story! It was so nice to continue the adventure from book one! It’s about a young person with magical power coming of age, and contains a sweet love story. I’m an adult and loved it, but I can see it being perfect for a YA audience, girls any age. I can’t wait for book #3 to come out!
