Happiness isn’t for Lucifer. He chose to be the villain and no matter his initial motivation, he embraced being bad. Now he can’t even make amends. Luc will never have the life he fell to Earth to find.
Luc doesn’t deserve his fated mate, and yet there he is, strolling into a bar.
Dex Colt’s life has been on hold for years. It’s time to move on, sell the home that feels like a tomb, and take back his life. Starting with the gorgeous guy asking to join him for a drink. Usually, Dex would say no to more than a quickie, but there’s something special about Luc, and there’s no harm in agreeing to a date. Right?
As it turns out, harm doesn’t begin to cover it. Dex’s best friend drops the bombshell that magic exists, and reveals that Luc isn’t the sweet man he appears to be. He’s the Devil.
It’s no surprise Lucifer’s mate is the best friend of the man he once tried to kill. A mate who hates him is the universe’s retribution. But Dex inspires a better world. If Luc can mend all that he’s destroyed, he could give Dex a gift even greater than his love. And if Dex will have him, together they might truly have it all.
*** Devil’s Mate is the fourth and final book in the Lovers of the Damned series. This fated mate MM paranormal romance ends in a HEA. While the romance stands alone and each book features a different couple, this series is best read in order due to an overarching plot. Content warnings can be found using the look inside feature and on the author’s website.
Colette (she/they) is an author of queer paranormal romance novels living in New Zealand. Colette loves to write couples who take care of each other and show their soft sides in love, even when they’re prickly in other facets of their lives. Sugar, spice, and magic are key ingredients in all of Colette’s books.
It was good and a great conclusion to a fantastic series. It all wrapped up nicely. Luc's redemption story was so well done. You could see, if not in book 1 in book 2 then, that what Luc was doing wasn't selfish but for greater good. The way he did and all was the problem. He redeemed himself at last and show who he really was, with Dex's help. Dex was new to all this and it was hard knowing the person you liked was the DEVIL. But he knew Luc was better underneath all that snark and he could see the person trying to get out. They made a perfect couple and I just loved them
Dex is still mourning the loss of his parents and trying to move on with his life. He has his barista work, his pottery studio, his best friend Ollie and is selling his parent’s condo so he can start fresh somewhere. He has hope, on his good days, and he keeps trying.
Luc is a little lost. He has tried to reconcile with his brothers, to apologise and begin to make right his wrongs but they don’t want to see or speak to him. Yet he is still on earth. He feels a strange pull in his chest, a strange draw to a mug he bought and to a coffee shop, later to a bar. He has no idea why until he sees Dex. His fated mate. The one he never thought he could or would have.
Dex has his baggage, Luc has his. Luc’s brothers and Dex’s friends take some convincing that Luc is doing the right and honest thing. He is but it’s perhaps the hardest thing he has ever had to do for whilst he has found Dex he might not be able to keep him. He resigns himself to the inevitable until Dex starts asking questions and making Luc see things very differently. With the help of Onyx and some connections to old enemies it might be that change can happen. Dex helps Luc see that there are options, there are possibilities and the future could be as perfect as they would both love.
In the meantime they are going to have plenty of fun. After all the devil is pure temptation and Dex has some very tempting fantasies he wants to try out.
With this series Colette Rivera has drawn readers into a world that many might not believe exists. A world of demons, vampires, witches and humans, living among one another. A world where the fallen fell because they were looking for love. It is a challenging world but also an incredibly romantic and passionate one. All of here characters come to mean a lot to us, we spend time getting to know them, seeing our world through their eyes and falling in love with them. It’s an addictive series and one that I will be reading over and over again!.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
When it was first announced that Lucifer would be getting his own book I was a bit leery. I mean, he tried to murder Ollie in a horrific way right in front of his mate! He also caused issues in Ash's mating with Harper. Needless to say, the demon brothers have not been a fan of his for quite some time. This is a change, as we find out before all the things went down with Lucifer's realm, the quartet were close friends for hundreds of years. Onyx is even Lucifer's blood related brother. I wondered if there was room for forgiveness in their hearts because I did not think Dex would mate with the devil knowing his closest friends hated him.
Poor Dex. He's been stuck in a sort of rut since he lost his parents. Still living in their home, never letting anyone get too close for fear of losing them as well. It broke my heart because he was such a sweetheart. He even kept Ollie at arms length and he considered him his closest friend. He knew it was time for a change and the first order of business was selling his parents condo and getting his own place.
On his way out of town as promised, Lucifer is drawn to the coffee shop where Dex works. I'm sure you can guess that finding his mate was not something Lucifer was expecting after all he'd done in his past, but the chance to speak to his mate is too much to ignore. It was actually kind of cute. Lucifer was different with Dex. He didn't want to start their meeting off with a lie, so he skirted around the truth while still giving insight into who he was as a man. It also helped that he was drop dead gorgeous and Dex had been on a dry spell for some time. Even better when these two find out that their kinks line up to a T. That's fate for yah though. She knows what she's doing.
Of course in order for Dex and Lucifer to get their HEA, Lucifer has to find a way to get his brothers to forgive him. It's not easy and there are other outside forces that are making things even harder, but I agree with the demons that it appears fate was determined to bring these couples together. After all, every demon in their original group has found a mate connected to one of the others. If that isn't destiny, I don't know what is.
At last, we understand why Lucifer did what he did.
The truth doesn’t excuse his choices — the damage, the betrayal, the pain — but it does make them make sense. And that distinction is everything. Seeing the weight he’s been carrying, the fear and twisted sense of protection behind his actions, adds layers to a character who once felt unreachable.
His attempts to reconcile with his brothers are met with silence, and that silence cuts deeper than any punishment. He’s left with nothing but regret towards persistent pull ta small coffee shop were he see Dex. Who does not know of the magic community His fated mate. The one Luc never dared to imagine he could have.
While his demon brothers — Ash, Dante, and Onyx — have all found their mates and begun building something solid and lasting, Luc believes that kind of future was never meant for him. Yet fate has other plans. Maybe that inexplicable tug toward his brother wasn’t just about mending fractured bonds. Maybe it was because his mate is friends with his brothers’ mates. Maybe destiny was quietly aligning them all long before Luc was ready to face it.
Dex sees him — not the legend, not the villain, not the fallen brother — but the man trying, fumbling, aching to make things right. Watching Luc wrestle with his guilt, reach for redemption, and slowly allow himself to hope is powerful. His behavior may have been unacceptable, but his remorse is real. His effort is real. And that makes every step toward healing feel earned.
After everything he’s done… After every fractured relationship and burned bridge…
Luc finally redeems himself.
What a fantastic, emotional, and deeply satisfying conclusion to an incredible series. Redemption has never felt so raw — or so deserved.
This is the 4th and Final Book in the Lover's of the Damned Series. The series does have to be read in order as there is an overarching plot! This isn't super dark but there are some heavier topics around grief so just check the CWs before heading in 🖤
🌶🌶🌶
I know I have said this with the previous books but I love the twist on the fated mates this series has! It's not your normal plot so if your a lover of fated mates this is definitely one to check out!
Spoiler free review!
Lucifer has been our big bad through the last 3 books this book all the truths get laid out and we now have the questions of "Does Lucifer deserve forgiveness" and "Can he redeem himself?" Lucifer has hurt alot of people and we find out that fate still gives Lucifer a mate but not just any mate, Dex is best friends with a man who Lucifer almost unalived. If Lucifer wants ANY chance to be with Dex he has to start mending bridges but how do you say "welp sorry I almost deleted you from the world I was acting a bit irrational" 🫣 This was such a brain scramble because on one side your like NOPE I would absolutely never forgive someone who did this but on the other side your like JUST HEAR HIM OUT! 🤣 Even though this sounds like it would be super angsty it's not! It's not this long drawn out thing which I appreciated because this would have gotten tedious very quick. Once all these truths come out the real big bad is discovered and these guys have to some how band together to handle that! So I hope your ready for the twists and turns with this one! It's was an awesome finale to the series 😍
Lucifer knows he is not popular and no matter what his motivations were he can never make up for what he has done in the past. He fell to earth for a specific purpose and now that is closed to him. Or is it? When Luc meets Dex Colt for the first time, he feels a draw that only mean he is his mate. Dex is still struggling with losing his parents. He knows it is time to move on. Maybe this sexy man can help for one night at least. Then his best friend, Ollie, tells him magic exists and that Luc is not the man Dex thinks. Luc almost killed Ollie. Now, Dex is not sure what to think or even if Luc can fit in his life. Luc wants him back and will try to get him what he wants.
Devil’s Mate is the fourth and final book in Lovers of the Damned series. This one is Lucifer’s story. Even though he is portrayed as the bad guy, he is perfect in so many ways for Dex. For all his faults, Luc is surprisingly gentle and awkward when he first talks to Dex. Dex senses that Luc is just what he needs and can help him explore all sorts of new things. Luc makes sure he is safe to do that and his limits are respected. Luc is determined to provide Dex with everything he wants, even if it means, he does not get what he wants. It will need lots of work and a fair bit of groveling if the two can have the best happily ever after imaginable. You will need to read this amazing book to find out how they do that. It is well worth the time, but read the other books in this series first as it will enhance your enjoyment of this one. I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book. All opinions are my own.
Colette Rivera delivers another beautifully layered and emotionally charged installment in her supernatural romance series, and this one might be her most heartfelt yet. Dex is still navigating the raw grief of losing his parents, trying to rebuild a life that feels like it shattered overnight. Between his barista job, his pottery studio, and the bittersweet task of selling his parents’ condo, he’s doing his best to keep moving forward. On his good days, he even believes he might succeed. Luc, meanwhile, is adrift in his own way. His attempts to reconcile with his brothers have been met with silence, leaving him stranded on earth with nothing but regret and a strange, persistent pull toward a mug, a coffee shop, and eventually a bar. That pull makes sense only when he sees Dex—his fated mate, the one he never dared to imagine he could have. Both men carry heavy emotional baggage, and Rivera doesn’t shy away from letting that complexity breathe. Dex’s friends and Luc’s brothers are skeptical, and Luc’s determination to do the right thing—even if it means losing Dex—is both heartbreaking and deeply human. But Dex refuses to let fear dictate their future. With the help of Onyx and even a few unexpected allies, he pushes Luc to see that change is possible, that redemption is real, and that love might be worth fighting for after all. This series is addictive in the best way: romantic, sensual, emotionally rich, and full of characters who linger long after the final page. It’s one I’ll happily revisit again and again.
'Luc’s insides twisted. He was no stranger to regret. It clawed at him so frequently, he was permanently ripped apart. Breaking the mug was nothing compared to everything he’d destroyed in his long life. It shouldn’t cut so deep. But it did. The man strode back out of the café and turned down the street without stopping. Luc crossed the road and followed as if this were the reason he’d been waiting all along. He pushed his regret over the broken mug away. It shouldn’t matter. It didn’t. Not like this did. As Luc followed, he relaxed, his bitterness fading. Tailing the man soothed him.'
I loved this book. It was such a beautiful, hurt/comfort romance that completely hooked me. Great world building and wonderful characters. I loved both Dex and Luc. Lucifer gets his redemption story- but will he get his faded mate, too? Both men were hurting, but maybe they could heal and support each other. But Luc has caused so much pain and damage in the past, and his brothers and their mates want nothing to do with him. My heart ached for them both and I couldn't wait to see how things turned out. I loved the dynamic between Dex and Luc and the way their relationship developed. How Dex handled learning the truth was realistic and believable; so was being torn over his feelings for Luc in spite of it.
I was so emotionally invested in these two. And loved seeing the other characters. A wonderful conclusion to this series. 5 stars
The Devil finds his forever mate; fourth book in series of standalones Now that Lucifer’s demon brothers Ash, Dante and Onyx have found their mates, Lucifer is sad and maybe a wee bit jealous. Afterall it was his idea to come from the Eternal Realm to Earth to find their mates. Not fair that he should be the only one without one! Until the day he is compelled to fixate on a coffee shop from which he had been banned because it was a hangout for the others’ mates. Then he sees Him, the most beautiful human on the planet; Lucifer suspects that this human is his mate. Poor Dex is friends with the mates of the other demons but is totally in the dark about what was happening which makes Lucifer’s overture even more perilous. He must approach Dex with caution and the truth. Can he do that after all this time using deception to get what he wants? You will see if you continue reading this last book of the series. The ending is very good and ties up a lot of loose ends. As good as the ending was, and it was truly thrilling, I wish the beginning had been a little more gripping. This was not a book that I ached to get back to which is odd since I loved the others. If you like lots of character development, intrigue, steam and a super ending, you will want to read this book. The ending saved it from being fewer stars. I volunteered to review an ARC of this book.
Imagine meeting your perfect guy. Handsome. Mysterious. Gets you in a way that has you rethinking your stance on relationships. And then your best friend drops some unbelievable truths that make you question everything you believe… Colette Rivera brings her Lovers of the Damned series to a thrillingly epic conclusion with The Devil’s Mate. I love a good redemption arc, and Lucifer/Luc has a lot to atone for. There have been hints he wasn’t guilty of some of the crimes he’s been blamed for. But there are plenty of others that he did do. His fellow fallen angels aren’t ready to forgive him. Which makes it difficult now that he’s found his fated mate who has inconvenient ties to his brothers. And Dex. The barista/potter. I loved him. And even as he fells a pull towards LUC (without knowing there fated) he feels disloyal to his best friend Ollie. How they find their way to each other and right a millennium of wrongs is quite a ride. Demons, witches, and vampires uniting against a common enemy is and action packed pnr ride. Coupled with an epic love story and you’ve got one amazing read. I loved how all remaining questions are answered and a delicious new series is setup. This is such a fun series. Luc and his brother Onyx are my favorites. A guy who has you wrap your arms around him so he can fly you across the city. Yes please. ****1/2 stars
Devil’s Mate is a gripping start to the Lovers of the Damned series, delivering a powerful mix of dark paranormal romance, emotional depth, and undeniable chemistry. From the opening chapters, the story pulls you into a dangerous, seductive world that is difficult to put down.
The characters are complex and compelling, particularly the male lead, whose dark, dominant presence is balanced by surprising vulnerability. The heroine is strong, determined, and emotionally grounded, making her a perfect match rather than a passive counterpart. Their connection feels intense and fated, with tension that builds steadily and pays off in a deeply satisfying way.
The pacing is excellent, blending suspense, world-building, and romance without any one element overpowering the others. The darker themes are handled well and enhance the emotional stakes rather than feeling gratuitous. As a book one, it sets up the series beautifully while still delivering a complete and rewarding romantic arc.
I would highly recommend this book to readers who enjoy dark paranormal romance, fated mates, morally gray heroes, and emotionally charged stories with a strong romantic core.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
I really enjoyed this book so much! I was excited to see Luc's story as he is kinda the villain in the first three books and seeing him get his happy ending was so nice! After the conclusion of the last book we already know Lucifer has many regrets about what he did and now we can finally see his side of the story. He doesn't think he will every get a mate but then he sees Dex. Dex agrees to a date with Luc but that gets interuped by his best friend, who proceeds to drop a bombshell that demons and magic are real. He feels betrayed by Luc but he can't seem to stop thinking about him either. Now Luc has to prove he is on the right side of this all and doesn't want to scam anyone. I loved seeing Luc's side of the story, cause yes he did do some terrible things but his logic was right to him. He is very remorseful and makes work of apologising to everyone especially his brothers. The dynamic between Luc and Onyx was the most intriguing to me as we see how Onyx felt about it all in his book. The romance between Dex and Luc was so nice to see and I really enjoyed their whole story! If you are looking for a queer steamy demon romance series this one is for you! Thanks to Colette Rivera for this eARC in exchange for an honest review.
4.5/5 This was an epic conclusion to the series! There were occasional glimpses even in book 1 that maybe there was more to Lucifer than meets the eye, and I really enjoyed getting his POV, seeing his character growth, and also dealing with his genuine repentance over some terrible actions. He’s much more fun as a complex character than a one-dimensional villain.
Dex is struggling with a lot, and while no one anywhere would ever have suggested that throwing the Devil at him would help with that, it works surprisingly well. Luc’s focus is totally different when it’s on Dex, and Dex gets the chance to ask for things he’s wanted but never dared put in words before. I loved seeing him get more confident and more comfortable as the book progressed. The two of them support one another really well.
When I imagined Luc’s redemption, it was almost completely on a personal level, so I wasn’t expecting just how epic this got. It was delightful to see everyone thinking big and fighting for what they believe in.
I loved all the demons getting their HEA, and I’m looking forward to the spin-off series.
I received an ARC from the author. This is my honest review.
Fourth in series (Lovers of the Damned), best if read in order. Paranormal. Fated mates. Light BDSM. Hurt/comfort. Found family. Dual POV.
Lucifer once changed the world in his mission to find his fated mate, but serious mistakes were made and now he remains waiting and trying to reconcile with the friends he betrayed. When Luc stumbles across Dex he knows Dex is his mate, but he realizes he may have to make the ultimate sacrifice and give up his mate and actually not be selfish for once in his eternal life.
This is the final story for the series and a chance for Luc to maybe make things right. Dex is an interesting match for Luc, someone that can see his desire to change and also meets his secret desires. I enjoyed that the family of demons and their mates rally behind Dex and eventually Luc and that there is an attempt to better things for everyone in the supernatural world to rectify the original schism that Luc caused. Luc was sweet with Dex and they eventually get steamy although I missed that we didn’t get to spend more time with them together on page. Overall, a good ending (and intro to spin-offs), and a really fun series.
I’ve been looking forward to Luc getting his own book ever since we got more of him in the previous book in the series. Also because I love a redemption arc and I knew Luc’s would be great. And it was. His redemption arc was my favorite part of the story. Seeing him try to reconnect with his brothers, be better for his mate and create a better world for the magical community was brilliant.
Dex’s journey of dealing with his grief and learning to move on really touched my heart. He was such a sweetheart and seeing him get everything he deserved was the best!
And I of course loved Luc and Dex together! They had all the swoony and spicy moments I expected but there was also a sweetness to their relationship that I adored. Luc was so kind and caring with Dex and I loved how he was willing to do anything to make Dex happy even at the expense of his own happiness if that’s what it took. But everything worked out as it was meant to in the end.
Devil’s Mate was a wonderful end to the series and I can’t wait to see what comes next from Colette Rivera!
*I received an ARC copy of this book. All opinions are my own.*

What a fantastic conclusion to this awesome series! After everything that he’s done, Luc finally redeems himself! It definitely isn’t easy but he puts the work in. Finding his mate I think made it a little easier and made him more confident that he might have deserved it also. Poor Dex is going through his own problems. My heart goes out to him for his terrible loss. It was a shame he couldn’t be totally open with Ollie but at least he had his friend if he really needed him. I’m so glad he found Luc and decided to give him a chance. I loved these two together! They were both adorable and really balanced each other out! This was such a wonderful story with so many endearing characters! I’ve loved every book in this series and enjoyed getting to know all the characters. I can’t wait to see what’s coming next! Very highly recommend this entire series! This is my honest opinion of this complimentary copy of this book
This book is a page-turner, a wonderful wrap up to a very engaging series of books. I found the story quite original, with a fascinating notion of the afterlife. Dex is a barista who also makes pottery. He is still coping with the loss of his parents from a few years before. Luc is actually the devil, who fell to Earth to find his fated mate. But Luc made a lot of mistakes along the way, alienating anybody from the Eternal Realm who was ever on his side. Now he needs their forgiveness, and he and Dex need each other. In fact, they are made for each other and they have a lot of chemistry from the minute they meet. Can they fix the lost balance between magic and mortality and the realms? The book is easy to read and the world building is very good. I loved the friendships between all of the demons' fated mates and I enjoyed the side characters. I can't wait to see what the author conceives of next. I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
Lucifer finally finding his Mate after centuries of impersonating evil itself. Will he be able to redeem himself and prove himself to be worthy of his fated human? Or will his long history of destroying everything in his path be too much for him to be deserving of unconditional love?
What. A. Finale!! Full of forgiveness and the will to be better. To do better for himself and for the family Luc desperately wants to be a part of. To find a solution for the witches, damned just for existing and for Dex, who needs closure over the death of his parents. Impossible? Maybe. But with the right people at your side, nothing is ever so broken, that it can't be fixed and nothing is beyond the bounds of possibility. Fates Mated with a heavy dose of redemption, found family, forgiveness and a healthy amount of sizzling spice. Go add this series to your TBR asap!!
Just loved this Lovers of the Damned series and Devil’s Mate is such a satisfying and emotionally charged conclusion, blending paranormal romance with themes of guilt, redemption and hard-won hope. Lucifer is a compellingly flawed hero who is fully aware of the damage he’s caused and convinced he deserves none of what fate offers him. Dex, still grieving and stuck in limbo, is the perfect counterpoint: grounded, human, and quietly brave.
Their connection is intense from the outset, but it’s the emotional tension that really drives the story. The revelation of Luc’s true nature raises the stakes beautifully, forcing both men to confront not just who they love, but who they want to be. The world-building and overarching plot come together well here, giving the romance real weight without overshadowing it.
I received a free arc copy and this is my honest review
I didn’t know how we would get Luc’s redemption arc, but it felt honest and raw and real. And it doesn’t happen in a vacuum and it rightfully takes time for the others to jump on board, including Dex. I appreciate Dex’s growth - despite his pull to Luc - he is able come to his own decisions, articulate his fears, and ultimately play a huge part in the overall plot.
And duh we still get a great romance, some fun spice (that hunting scene at the club? yes please!), and found family aspects that were hard won and wonderful.
Sad to leave this group but excited for what’s to come from this author!
I received an advanced copy in exchange for my honest review.
I can’t believe the series is finished and I loved them all. We had met Lucifer in the other three books and thought he was unredeemable. Boy was I surprised as the story went on. Dex is the friend of Ollie who lost his parents a few years earlier and is in still in pain. One night one, Dex was out drinking and Luc sat next to him. They started talking and hit it off. A few days later, they were going to go on a date, when Ollie spotted them and told Dex what really happened to him because of Luc. Luc realized that Dex was his mate, but didn’t want to stop him from entering the eternal realm to see his parents again. I loved how Luc and Dex worked and how Dante, Ash and Onyx forgave him from what happened in the past. I loved this world and cannot wait for the spinoff series to come.
This one is the best of them all. Yes, the redemption arc felt a little far fetched, but it was good. We finally see why Lucifer did what he did, and how he’s trying to make amends, and it makes his behavior make sense, even though it’s still unacceptable. And I loved Dex for him. And it’s great that he’s someone who isn’t judging him for his past behavior, so he can “start over” so to speak. I think if all the other books had been written like this one, the whole series would have been much better. The lore is still choppy and the weakest part of the series, but I enjoyed this one much more because it was well written, and they weren’t all lovey dovey from the beginning, Luc was just trying to “reinvent” himself in a way, so that gives a fresh perspective to what happened before, and forgiveness goes a long way towards a HEA as well. The other books are needed to understand this one, and for this one, is worth reading the other ones.
Well this series by Colette Rivera has gone in directions that I never imagined and it’s marvelous. I figured that Luc must have a mate, but I really didn’t know how he would get a happy ending and how he could ever be forgiven by all the people he had hurt. This series rewrites the classic heaven and hell story adding magic, witches and vampires to the fallen angels idea. Dex is perfect for Luc which is what I love about the fated mate trope and although they do have to work through some things it’s more about them working together. I will be sad to leave these characters behind and based on the number of epilogues she wrote I think that Ms Rivera will as well.
Even the Devil deserves a mate. Seeing things from Lucifer's perspective, I see why he did what he did and how he thinks he was in the right in all his choices, regardless if it hurt others. I expected no less from the Devil himself. And then comes Dexter, a human who fell in love with the Devil. What's astounding is that his feelings remained even after discovering Lucifer's true identity and his role in his best friend's life. That is not to say he accepted the man, at least not yet at that point. Thankfully, their friends gave them a second chance and were even encouraging of their relationship once they heard Lucifer out. Sweet words and dark desires, they are perfect for each other. I received an advanced readers copy and am giving my honest review.
Devil’s Mate is the conclusion to Colette Rivera’s Lovers of the Damned quartet. See author’s note for content warnings.
This was the book I didn’t know I needed! When I started reading this series, I never expected to love Lucifer, let alone thought he would get his own book, but he’s been such a pleasant surprise. He and Dex are just perfect together. Dex awakens Luc’s tender side and it was so beautiful to read.
Whew, this book is SPICY! 🥵 Luc may be tender with Dex, but when it comes to the bedroom, he is very possessive. I think it’s Colette’s spiciest book so far (that I’ve read).
This series has been such a beautiful celebration of queer love and joy! Thank you Colette for the eARC! I’m feeling a little bittersweet that this is it for this series, but I’m excited for what’s coming next!
'Devil’s Mate is the fourth and final book in the Lovers of the Damned series. This fated mate MM paranormal romance ends in a HEA. While the romance stands alone and each book features a different couple, this series is best read in order due to an overarching plot.'
The characters were very complex and complicated and perfectly steamy together. Plot evolves to a satisfying conclusion. World building continues to excel and impress. Thoroughly enjoyed and highly recommend this series.
Grab a copy, kick back and enjoy!.

CW: at the front of the book. Notable ones: death of MC's parents (in the past); other MC is the villain in his brothers' lives; MC who desires consensual non-consent (with safe words but there is a hand on his throat at some point) ,
Luc is having a bit of a problem (or perhaps more than one): he has apologised to his brothers but they don't believe his sincerity and understandably don't want a relationship with him. He is respecting those boundaries (somewhat begrudgingly) and wants to leave Shearwater Landing but something is keeping him there... or is it someone?
Devil's Mate is the 4th book in the Lovers of the Damned series. As stated by the author "This series is best read in order due to an overarching plot”. This is the story of Luc (Lucifer the devil) and Dex a human. This was a story I couldn't wait for. These two had so much to work through to get to their happy ending. I loved the characters and world building that has gone into this series. I really enjoyed this book and I look forward to seeing what Colette Rivera writes next. I would definitely recommend this book and series. received a free review copy
Devil’s Mate by Colette Rivera is book 4 and the final book in the Lovers of the Damned series. I have been waiting for Luc’s story since book 1. I had no idea how the author was going to be able to redeem our dear Lucifer from the atrocities that he had committed against previous characters. His mate, Dex, had also been through so much and deserved to have someone to cherish him. I actually really loved Luc’s redemption arc and though he didn’t have a good reason for what he did, the fact that he was willing to sacrifice his happiness for Dex was so beautiful to watch. I have really enjoyed this series and am sad that it has ended. I am very excited that we may see these characters again in the author’s new series about the vampires. Such a great world!
