Sarah Moore, has always felt out of place, but imagine her surprise when she discovers she’s the great-great granddaughter of the formidable witch Le’Anna Moore! Plus, there’s this super mysterious guy, Rob, who she can’t help but be drawn to, even though their love is totally forbidden! This book had me totally mesmerized, and now I’m off to get lost in Crossing Lines For Love Book 2! You have to read this incredible book!
“Crossing Lines For Love" by Nakeira Nashae is a romance novel that explores themes of mystery, suspense, and forbidden love. The story follows Sarah, a misunderstood girl with a troubled past, as she uncovers secrets about her family's history and her own identity. Specifically, Sarah discovers she's the great-great granddaughter of Le'Anna Moore, a powerful witch. The character development was exceptional! I felt like the author cast a spell on me, I could not stop reading this book! This one hit me right in the feels with forbidden love, family secrets, and truces! I cannot wait to read the next book!
I hid my review for spoilers, just in case but I think I did pretty well at not spoiling. We shall see though!
Where to start? I guess I should start first with the vibes. Think Romeo and Juliet meets Charmed. This book played so many themes that all blend seamlessly—generational trauma, ancestral magic and protection (and secrets), and lowkey childhood trauma disguised as “wanting what’s best”. Also the poetry bordering on spells was magnificent work.
I think most of us who resonated with this book have felt unheard at least once, whether it be our actual mental health or any number of things. There were several highlights I’m going to quote without trying to give anything away.
✨“Stop it. Just stop it.” Her mom interrupted, waving her hands dismissively.
✨ She wanted to argue, to tell her mom she wasn’t lying, that this was real. But the words wouldn’t come out. Instead, she just nodded and pulled the blanket over her head, hiding away from the world that seemed to eager to dismiss her.
✨Voices that whisper, shadows that taunt. A childhood of echoes, a ghostly haunt.
I highlighted more than this, but honestly this resonated within me so deeply as someone who was never heard.
Also we could all use a friend like Malerie. She’s the number one hype girl.
Throughout the book generational trauma and wanting to break free of those beliefs are shown through multiple characters, even characters you wouldn’t expect.
While this is a fantasy book filled with magic and heavier topics sprinkled in, it has a wonderful message. Worth the read! Excited for the next one, because that ending??? GIRL, why would you do that to us?

Picture this a Witch named Sarah Moore and a Witch hunter named Rob Charming a forbidden love the two outcast of there family of the 4th generation but bound to one another due to break a curse by true love and not by vengeance that was created by Sarah's great grandmother to stop the fudes and war between families. This book shows even thought you think your protecting someone by lieing or keeping secrets can put you in dangerEr and can break your family apart! It also had a good job at capturing mental illness and how her family didn't believe her at first and tried solving it by sending Sarah away instead of talking about it and helping one another stay strong as a family together.Mental illness is a real thing and there's resources to help and you are never alone this book was really well written I enjoyed all the witchy vibes and loved the poems you added And girlly that cliffhanger I definitely need to read book two How far would go for love ?
The factions in Crossing Lines for Love reminded me a bit of Twilight—full of power struggles, loyalty, and forbidden attraction. I loved how Nakeira Nashae closes each chapter with a poem; those lyrical touches give the story a heartbeat and a sense of reflection. Sarah is a fascinating lead—torn between family secrets, rising power, and her feelings for Robert. The tension between love and danger keeps the story moving fast, with just enough mystery to pull you deeper each chapter.
The world feels rich, the stakes high, and her use of prose is quite confident. Crossing Lines for Love is about legacy, choice, and finding strength when your whole world is built to break you.
Omg, this book was so unique. I've never read a book that incorporated so many beautiful lines of poetry at the end of each chapter. It definitely gave me Romeo and Juliet vibes🥰. Especially with the forbidden romance. And the mystical mystery had me locked in the whole time because i just never knew what was going to happen! I only took a star off because I wanted a little more meat to some parts of the story and I wish the MMC was a bit more strong-willed so that he could've pulled his weight a bit more.

My first dive into this author's work, and let me tell you, I was hooked from the start. The book takes you on a magical journey where danger is around every corner, and fate and magic collide in a whirlwind of emotions. Sarah's exploration of her witch heritage and her forbidden romance with Robert had my heart pounding and my feelings all over the place. It was like being under a spell, unable to put the book down until the very last page. If you want a read that will tug at your heartstrings and keep you on the edge of your seat, this is it!
A spellbinding mix of love, magic, and danger — Crossing Lines for Love will keep you hooked from the first secret to the last twist. I can’t wait to see what’s next from this Indie author.
