So sad this series is over. One of the best star wars runs of the year, and could have done so much more, I really didnt want it to end yet, it could have been a great ongoing run.

Edit: read in trade, i love this series so much, so unique and so special for Star Wars. This and legacy of vader, im so desperate to see more.

This graphic novel collects issues 6-10 of Jedi Knights (2025). The story, while having an overarcing tale, also has some snippets that are seemingly stand-alone among the relatively peaceful Republic, offering insight into other Jedi and their stories happening simultaneously with the leading players. The main story follows Qui-gon and the potential risk of his life learned about in Obi-wan’s premonition from the previous volume. The past will be revealed, and hopefully both parties come to choose a higher path. One of the sub-stories follows the first-person perspective of a youngling and her journey after being chosen by the Jedi to go to Coruscant. This one was unique and offered a different feel to the Jedi operations and challenges they face when recruiting Force users.

I enjoy the artwork, and while the first volume seemed more like a bunch of individual stories with some tie-in to the main arc, this one almost fully follows Qui-gon’s current challenge, as well as highlighting a key event in his past as a Padawan with Count Dooku. I enjoyed this installment more than the first, and found myself thoroughly invested in this story. It is enjoyable to see the actions of these characters, and how the reader can see distingct choices that develop characterization and lead the characters into the ones we eventually know in the films.

I really enjoyed this one and I wish that the series would continue. The first person POV issue "Through a Padawan's Eyes" was really well done in my opinion. Qui-Gon's story about reconciliation and the past was good. I always like to see more from him and Dooku's relationship. Though it is kind of ridiculous how clearly evil Dooku was, even at that point in the timeline. It calls into question why Jinn or Kenobi don't ever warn the order about Dooku clear embrace of Dark-Side tendencies. Maybe they do, but with everythings we have seen Dooku do at this point in the published material, him becoming a Sith should almost be no surprise.

I just really like this point in the Universe (the era just before Episode I). Keep giving me stories set in it.

This was a very beautiful series about a topic that is severely undercovered in the canon. Things really start to ramp up storywise in this volume, with the arc of Corlis Rath’s character coming full circle…but I can’t help feeling like it was a half-baked story — no fault of Guggenheim; it’s just 10 issues is not enough time to build large stories. I hope this comes back someday, because it’s a very cool idea and the art (although not as good as the first volume) is phenomenal nonetheless.

I really enjoyed this series, (good) prequel era marvel star wars is rare. The 2nd volume really ties the story from the first together. I really like how it explores jedi we know from the movies. Good to see Dooku and Qui-Gon together.

How old is Aayla Secura supposed to be?! She's already a knight while Obi Wan was a teen. 🤔

How Dooku and Qui-Gon behave in this comic doesn't really fit with what we know of them during this time period in other stories like Jedi Lost and takes Dooku much closer to the Dark Side than I'd think the Jedi would have accepted. Also, this series seemed like a disconnected anthology of one-off stories about random Jedi, and some of the one-issue stories were too short to be meaningful.

A great ending to a great series. Not sure what Marvel's plan is, having all the newest Star Wars series only run a handful of issues, but all have been a hit for me. Definitely looking forward to whatever comes next.

After the great first volume this ends up to just be another Obi-One and Qui-con story. Not that we had much of those in the new canon but this (With QJ once again seeking redemtion because his former master was Count Dooku) is just mweh.

2.5 stars. The art is nice, but the faces lack much in the way of emotions. The story is fine. Dooku is far too far down the path of the Dark Side though. This depiction doesn't meld well with other Disney cannon depictions or legends.

Star Wars: Jedi Knights Vol. 2 A Higher Path collects issues 6-10 of the Marvel Comics series written by Mark Guggenheim, illustrated by Madibek Musabekov, and colors by Luis Guerrero.

Obi-Wan’s vision of his master’s attack comes to fruition but Qui-Gon is not dead yet. Suffering from a devastating attack and being poisoned, the Jedi Council seeks answers about who would make such a personal attack against one of their own.

This volumes focuses much more on Qui-Gong but with many appearances of other Jedi Council members and Jedi masters. I liked the ending with Qui-Gon connecting with a past mistake but the rest of the issues didn’t do much for me. Not bad by any means, just a lot of mediocre issues in my opinion. But, I would definitely like to call out the art is very good and has the same creative team throughout the whole series so that is a major plus.
