Torch & Treachery

I missed this story and read Trial by Treadmill first so had to go back and fill in the blanks. I am glad I got this via KU otherwise I might not have finished it due to the duplicate chapters. The sentence Not possible to remove the adverb appears 18 times and I have no idea what it refers to. Also it wasn't until the end that I realized there is a separate series featuring these characters. It was not mentioned in the details for my ARC copy of Trial by Treadmill otherwise I would not have jumped right in to the series. I was left feeling like there was so much I missed. Also there were so many characters here to keep straight. Book two had a few errors but this one was loaded with them. It is a shame to see a book with so many errors reach publication.

Torch & Treachery: An Anthletic Cozy Mystery (Around the World with 80 Clues), my tenth enjoyable read from author Nina Hunt. “I received a complementary Kindle copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review." The gifting of this book did not affect my opinion of it. I look forward to reading more from this author with The Kidnap Express A Green Acres Cozy Mystery high on my TBR list. A decent story.

I like the characters and Toby, the dog. Overall, the stories are good. I was disappointed with the repetition. More than one chapter was repeated, and a phrase about not removing an adverb. I didn't understand that phrase. I have another book in this series. I will read it to see if it is better. The story had me laugh at loud in places. Toby is adorable.

Mia and Toby are in for a heck of a mystery when runners go missing and there is missing tunnels and stolen land. Can they ever figure it all out?
