Great resource, some of the more intricate instructions are hard to follow but then in the author’s defence it’s because you can only dumb the pro level stuff down so much.

The easy calculation/cheat tables in the back are gold, especially the one for setting in triangles.

An interesting book... It holds a place somewhere between a basics book and an encyclopaedia. It's useful for having a collection of most of the things you can do with quilting, all in one place, in the hands. But as far as using it as an actual guide, it's not particularly thorough and seems better suited to experienced quilters who might use this to remind how to do something already practiced. I'd need to look elsewhere to find clearer instructions.

I have suddenly become keen on making a quilt and have bought loads of quilting books. This one seems amazingly useful and informative with lots of sources and tips. I am not sure that it’s the book to read from beginning to end. But to dip into the bits you need/interest you and keep coming back to as a reference. Essential if you want to quilt. I actually have quilted when I was younger. But goodness things have moved on a lot. Fat quarters and jelly rolls? We didn’t have them 50 years ago!

I have enjoyed learning from this well written book. It is a complete encyclopedia of quilting techniques. If you want to learn about quilting, this is the book to buy. I recommend this book.

I peruse, use and scan many quilting books, but I read this one, every word, and when I had to return it to the library, I bought my own copy. If "Bible" means authoritative, comprehensive, wide-ranging, then this book is it! I will consult it at many turns and recommend it to all quilters.
